So many prayers needed... Teri mostly.

These words are so true.

My heart is a bit heavy this morning. Wednesday morning my friend, Teri Heins Waag, lost her 28 year old son to a terrible accident.  Their family owns a tree cutting business and he had been hoisted up by a boom crane, and was trying to reach the limb of a large fir tree when he fell. The accident happened in front of his dad, John. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Besides Teri and John.... Aaron left a grieving wife and a one year old daughter, and two brothers. My friend Wendi (Teri's sister) is his aunt.  What an awful thing to happen.  Makes you want to hold your kids closer... no matter how old they are.  Please pray for this family.
Teri with grand daughter.

Let's take it to a lighter note.  I went to mom's yesterday morning. It was weird figuring out what I would do with my foot. I couldn't get any shoe on it. So I tried a flip flop but new my foot would get cold so I had to ghetto a white sock and cut a hole to slide into the filp flop.... or thong as it used to be called in my day! Who changed that anyway???

I didn't take pictures yesterday... this was from before.. but this is how good she looked yesterday!
MOM:
Anyway I got there.  Sure hurt to drive. My toe is a big freaking bruise...and so is the second little piggy.  Had a nice visit with mom. Only lasted about an hour though because her pastor came to visit. She didn't want me to leave but he didn't come to see me. Mom looks so good! We laughed and talked and had a great visit. I can't believe how good she looks and feels. I am so happy and so is she!

This was taken last September... but this was her face when she tasted lunch. lol!
KARLA:
I called KJ and since she wasn't having lunch with Tara I asked her if she wanted to. I haven't seen her since her flu. She did lose weight in her face.... probably from that flu. We were going to eat at Envy (where Mucky Duck was but it looked nasty this time and smelled and the cook and waitress were arguing kind of loud and there were only 3 men eating there) but I changed my mind and left. I had her meet me at this little deli by the rent-it center. I got there first... walked in and could not believe my eyes!!! The same guy that used to run The Three Sisters Deli on Bainbridge Island ran this place!!! When I worked for the chiropractor in the 90's Karla and I loved his French Dip sandwiches. Craved them in fact! The overhead was too much so he moved to this little cart on the corner. Then he disappeared.  This is the first time I've seen him since then... and I ordered for both of us... french dip!!!   Karla got there and didn't recognize him but the minute she took a bite... she nodded. It was the same as we remembered! Garlicky, toasted, and nummy! And his fries were great! It was nice. Great food and company. Check out her blog and you can see some of our conversation was about Dylan. Oh, Dylan. lol!  We also talked about how I was a fun mom but too easy. She said they sassed me but I don't remember that.  I don't recall them being disrespectful... Karla got to the edge a few times with her 13 year old attitude. But I don't recall disrespect. Sometimes they would argue... but don't all teens?

Kevon and i last Mother's Day!
KEVON:
I carried the conversation over with Kevon a few hours later... he doesn't think he got disrespectful. He said he liked to argue. It made me feel good because he said he had a good childhood. The divorce sucked and he had a hard time with all that.... but I was a good mom. Kevon and I talked for almost an hour on the phone... about his dad, Karla, me, life, babies, marriage, family, Aaron, lots of stuff.  I truly understand where he is coming from a bit more. Our conversations are amazing. We don't agree but we listen to each other. I know he heard some things I said which I think will make him think. The fact is... he is an Ellis and not a more stubborn breed was ever made.  I should have known that by meeting Dave's dad.... but I made two more. lol!  Kevon said I have a hard time when people don't think like me. I was raised to be forgiving, accepting, loving, compassionate, and to let it go.  I tried to raise him that way but his dad's genes are winning out.
It is one of those things I can only pray on... and accept.

LAUREN:
Wow.... got a bit side-tracked. After lunch I went to McDonald's for Lauren's lunch and took it to her school!  She had just lined up in the gym after I signed in.... so we grabbed a table. I made her move because it was by the line and everyone was staring at my ghetto toe. She thought that was funny but we packed up and all 10 of us girls moved.  Lauren loved lunch... ate all her burger, shared fries with Suzanne and we shared a bite of Cini-minies with everyone. She ate the majority. We went to the playground.  I have never been so nervous! All these little gremlins running around bouncing balls. I knew my toe would get hit. But it didn't.  We played "Protect the toe" where they would walk in front of me. The bell rang and everyone came running... I about freaked and turned around and told Lauren and Suzanne to protect the toe.  Javier was in front of me and I said "That is so sweet of him to stand in front of me and protect my toe!!!" Lauren said "Mam.... this is his line."  Oh.  We went over to her class line. Too funny.  What wasn't so funny was by that time my toe was killing me.

MADDIE:
Today I am going to have lunch with Maddie at her school!  She is super excited. It will be my first time having lunch with her. And in 2 weeks I hope to have lunch with Riley. When my toe is better. The older kids don't want me to have lunch with them in junior high and high school. Oh, they would be happy for me to bring them lunch... but not sit with them. lol!  Stopping by mom's again to fill her pills.

JORDY:
I called and talked to Jordy last night. She has a strange flu that isn't really full strain flu but gives her a terrible headache. She hasn't been to school all week. Poor baby girl. I'm praying for her. She read the book I got from Brian (that he wrote) and loved it. She can't wait for the next book! He asked if she would be willing to write a review in Amazon. I'm going to get an autographed book for her from him.  He is bringing it to church this weekend. She is going to pass the book on to Dylan. She said he will love it, too.

Papa is off for the next three days! I love it. He is going to get groceries so I don't have to walk all over the store. And I will not shop on one of those motorized carts. Kev and I have a joke about that and I just can't do it.

I know this is long. Really poured my heart out!!!  Thanks for being there and listening and praying. Recap... please pray for Waag family, Kevon, Jordy, my toe, and Andrew is going on a Winter Youth Retreat this weekend! I told him we would pray for him. Thanks dear friends!

Oh that poor family, I will certainly pray for them! We had some trees cut down a few years back by a friend of my Brother's! That friend fell to his death about 3 months after he was at our house. He had the chain saw hanging from his belt, it fell, cut the rope that was holding him and he died a few days later. Young fella with a wife and small children:( I am so sorry for your friend and her family and the wife of this young man!

Your Mama looks marvelous! Her smile is contagious:) Happy you got to talk to Kevon, I know you love him and miss him greatly! Hopefully God will heal all hearts! Hope your toe gets better, the toe hurts like a toothache... constant! I pray you all have a blessed weekend, having Papa home will be nice!

Love you bunches and BIG HUGS!
