A long, long time ago....

I used to write on this blog. It has been forever. Life has been ok but Papa and I are both sick right now. He's got a cold. I have a cold and blahs. I wish I knew what was wrong with me.  I haven't felt normal since I can't remember when.  Between my back, my head, my body everything.  I am sick of it all.

Well that is a good way to start things off after almost two months. Let me tell you the good parts of October.  We had a family dinner at Tara's.  She made her homemade chili.  We brought cornbread, chicken, candy, cookies, chips and cheese dip.  I guess we went with the "C" theme. lol!  We played games and had  fun!  Brad, Joel and Lanny watched the Washington Huskies game.  me, Riley, Karla, Tara, Madi, Jordy played the board games.  Had strawberry shortcake or pies for dessert.  I love these times with my family.
Jordy showing me her suitcase she has to haul in Seattle to school and home everyday!

Jordy and her dog Lily

Scruffy turned 8 this month.

Andrew went to Alaska with his school to preach to those in Fairbanks.  It was on video and he did so good!

Lauren played at the McTakeover with her school band at McDonalds in Kingston. It rocked.

When Andrew got back he came and visited here with Lauren.  I hadn't seen him in over a month.  He brought me the nicest Santa ornament. I know Lauren was sure happy to see her brother.  Amanda invited Papa and I over to their house to have dinner (Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo) and watch Andrew and Lauren carve pumpkins! We got to listen to Amanda and Lauren sing Adele. They are so good.

Speaking of singing, our grand daughter sang the National Anthem at her Middle School assembly. Pretty brave and she was awesome!  She also got new glasses.

Our daughter Heather turned 40!  She is our 3rd daughter.  Cannot believe how old they are getting.  And how old that makes us!  Life goes on until it gets done here. Then it goes on in Heaven.

Her boys did their pumpkins too!

Parker came home for the weekend and Jared was a happy boy!

September came alive with fall leaves. Of course, Port Gamble was gorgeous as usual.

I had to get a new computer. Mine died. It is taking some getting used to.
Dylan had a birthday. He turned 19.

He is doing really good in college. So is Parker. And Jordy is doing awesome in cosmetology school.  Everyone is doing good in school!  Lauren started soccer tryouts tomorrow. She has been sick since last Saturday with a cold and missed school Monday. Tuesday she went to practice in the rain and awful weather.  She made it through.

It's nine o'clock so it must bemy bedtime.  My fingers hurt. When I am sick my fingers hurt. lol! I am locking my site again but hopefully if you are reading it you can get it.  Let me know if you can't. lol!

Highs and lows and missing mama

I am a very happy girl!  I am smelling turkey. We are having turkey for dinner and I love it! Sheets and bedding are being washed. dogs been on a great walk, Cenex came and gave us propane for winter and all seems to be right with our little world.

Time to post!  Actually past time.  I did actually write a post but it was all about how our son, Ryan, severed his ties with me and his dad, Karla and Kevon.  Long, ugly story I decided not to post.  As part diary I don't think I will ever forget what has happened between us the past year that led us to the point we are.  And I just don't want to write about it.  It hurts and I am over it.

So on to happier times!  It was a fast summer for sure! I can't believe we are going into fall.  I posted most of my summer in the last post.  But I will finish it up now.

Let's go backwards.  Yesterday was one of the best days all summer. It was Labor day and we had a BBQ!  There was me, Papa, Karla, Joel, Madi, Manda, Lauren and Kevon.  We played "Last Word" and laughed SO HARD I had a stomach ache last night.  I have the funnest and funniest people in my life.  We had strawberry shortcake for dessert which was so nummy!  I haven't had any all summer so this was the perfect way to end the summer!  Oh, and we had Bacon Burgers with the works, hot dogs, Karla made a potato salad, we had deviled eggs, corn on the cob, beans, chips, and snacks. Wow, it was so good.  I'm thankful for a wonderful family and good food! No pictures though.  Can you believe it?
Sunday we did nothing but Saturday we went to the Family Pancake House and met up with Heather, Parker, Jared, Tara and Riley for brunch.  The food was good and I got to order off the Senior Menu because I am 60 now.  It was nice seeing the girls and grandkids again.

Sandy girl celebrated her 12th birthday with a pig ear.  She was a happy girl!  Spoiled!  We have offered her a retirement home the past year or two. She loves it here because it is only 2 stairs to get up and down off the deck, we have a covered deck in case it rains, and a fenced yard so she is safe.  She sleeps in the house and gets canned food every morning for breakfast.  Papa really does spoil her.  She deserves it.  And the kids and Amanda come give her loves often as they can.

The grandkids are all back to school.  Well, Dylan and Parker will be going to college in a few weeks.  Jordy is in Cosmetology School in Seattle.  And Andrew just started college at Northwestern College in Kirkland, WA.  It is a Christian college where he is studying to be a pastor.  He lives in the dorms and is making new friends already.  I am happy for them all! Now we've got Patrick in 11th grade, Joshua is in Middle School this year in 6th grade and Jared is in 5th grade!  Those are Heather and Don's kids!

Madi, Lauren and Riley are all in 8th grade this year.  Their last year of middle school and next year will be in high school.  Where did the years go.  Time just goes on and on.

They all seem to like school so far.  They are ok with their classes which is good.

The fair came and went.  I would have liked to take the grandkids but that ended up being a busy week.  Lauren was with her mom that week so Papa and Lauren painted her new room.  Amanda and Lauren moved into Kevon's home (which used to be our home 10 years ago until we sold it to him.)  Amanda had to do a lot of cleaning to move in because 2 bachelors and a black lab lived there. lol!  She had people over to pressure wash the place outside, clean up the yard, wash carpets (which she had to redo), etc... She also had to sell the house they were living in so she could sell it.  They are all settled now. Lauren can ride the bus with Jonah again so that makes her happy! She likes her room.  Mac is settled.  They have to fix a few spots in the fences so he can't escape. Meanwhile Kevon bought a place closer to Silverdale and the base and 5 minutes from work.  He is remodeling and fixing the house while he stays in out building with his dog, Penny.  He got a fence put up right away.  He is able to come home and check on her several times a day if he wants.  Everything went much faster than they expected it to happen but there was no choice in the matter.  Once Kevon finishes his new place in a few weeks then he will get the rest of his stuff out of Amanda's garage.  Then Jeff (who has stuff downstairs) can get his stuff out and Amanda can get the downstairs cleaned out and fix up a space for Andrew to come home to. lol!  Just takes time.  I heard Ryan and his girl friend and her son and his girlfriend moved to the Keyport  area.  Poor Lauren has been moving  alot!!!  At least she is not moving to California, which we are so thankful for!

Amanda ended up taking Andrew and Lauren to the fair.  It was the last night home for Andrew before going to college.  They had fun but the rides kind of made Andrew sick. It was good for the 3 of them to do something fun together!  Karla's family went to the fair too.  They go every year but Madi is more into the animals than the rides. lol!  I would be more into the food. Love their corndogs and funnel cakes!

Karla and Joel took their family camping and we spent some time visiting them. Lanny and I went one day and then one night we went with Amanda, Andrew and Lauren.  We had fun. Played a game of "Last Word". Dylan and Andrew went for a walk.  Amanda and Karla went for a walk.  They ate some smores.  Very nice.

The last month of summer was fun but it was the most stressful time we have been through in years.  I am thankful we are pretty much done with that part of the drama. Now to enjoy Fall and Family.  Bought a few shirts marked down to $3.50 and a new rug for in front of my fireplace. Now I have to think about Christmas.  Ten grandkids are SO hard to buy from especially the older they get and college kids?  What do you get them?  lol!

In two days (sept 8th) it will only be 5 years since my mama went to Heaven.  Why does it seem like 10 years?  Not a day goes by that I don't think of her.

Well, that is my update.  I hope God gave you many blessings this summer and He will always continue to carry you through and bless you!

Our summer...graduations, parties, birthdays, family and fun!

I probably won't post that I will try to keep up on this because I obviously don't.  So I won't lie to you anymore. lol!  I have time so that isn't my excuse.  I just don't have one except laziness.  I go on facebook in the morning and check it off and on during the day to see if I missed anything. That's where I hear of anything.  That and my email.  Who would have thought. hmmmm.  I cannot believe it is August 1st and the kids go back to school the 31st.  It seems like it has been a fast summer.  Let me see if I can make a recall...

Parker in 2016 ,,, his mama Heather in 1995

June 3rd was a huge day for our family.  The whole month was but we'll start with the 3rd. Parker graduated from high school! What an amazing weekend! Rode to Odessa with Kevon, Andrew and Papa. Kevon is a good driver! It is about 5 hour drive. Met up with Karla, Joel, Madi and Dylan for breakfast in Ellensburg. Watched an amazing graduation! Parker's name was called and our section of over 20 people (me, Papa, Uncle Kevon, Auntie Tara, Uncle Brad, Uncle Ryan and his girlfriend and her adult son with girlfriend, cousins Andrew, (Lauren was home sick), Jo, Riley, 3 sets of grandparents, Auntie Tina and her kids, his mom, dad, and 3 brothers.) Well.... We were loud! Heather is school board member so she got to give Parker his diploma... so that was special. They played a video of past pictures of Parker with Pokemon music playing. Heather put on an great reception for Parker downtown with lots of food and cake! On the way home we stopped at Chick-fil-a in Tacoma and had the best Chicken Sandwich ever! We missed the turn to Bremerton so we just kept going to South Tacoma. lol!  I had never eaten there and it was so good.  Animals were happy we got home and they were as tired as we were the next day! Thank you Kevon for everything! Thank you Heather for being such a great mom, daughter and hostess. We were proud of you! Happy bday to Pat! And SUPER proud of Parker!

Patrick turned 17 the next day! It was overshadowed by the graduation a bit. But I think he still enjoyed his day!
So Parker, Dylan and Jordy all finished their high school years.  The rest of us are aging.

We had Dylan and Jordy's graduation on the same night which was not cool at all.

Dylan was at North Kitsap and I went to it. Uncle Kev, Auntie Manda, cousin Andrew, his parents, sister, two sets on grandparents and another aunt came to it.  He had a loud cheering crowd. I had to sit by myself down in the handicap section with my walker.  Had a great view but felt lonely in a huge crowd.  It was so awesome to watch Dylan graduate from the same high school and exact same place his mom (my baby girl) did. I cried.
Dylan 2016 .. his mom Karla in 1993

Jordy graduated from Olympic High School in Bremerton.  Papa went to that one.  We had to split up.  Uncle Don, Auntie Heather and 4 boys went to it ... as did Lauren with Ryan's girlfriend, two sets of grandparents. I heard it was really nice!!!

Jo getting diploma 2016 ...Tara getting diploma 1991

The next day the girls had a huge party for all 3 of the kids and Melvin.  The pictures above are some we took. It was such a good party.  Both my sisters came.  Lois stayed a week. Emerson and his wife, Kara and her husband and little boy came, Rita and Vicky brought little Riley.  So great to see everyone again.  I am proud of the girls and what they did for their kids. Proud of these kids too!!!!

Libby with two of her kids Kara and Emerson!

 Must be the Langager table!

Melvin!  Brad and Tara's foster son sort of!

Papa enjoying his grandkids!

Parker's angels!

Lois, Joyce and Libby... the grey haired sisters!

We had one last concert for Riley and one last band concert for Lauren this month.  Then all the kids were out of school!  They were all happy!

In June it was
my husbands 67th birthday. That seems so old when I sound it out! I am so blessed to have him as my husband and in my life. He is so good to me! He is good to our whole family and is such a nice guy to everyone. We went  to Amanda's for bbq burgers with Karla and Madi. It was fun.  Like I say....he SAYS he doesn't care about his birthday .... but EVERYONE really does care when people show their love for them.
It was my sisters birthday and my brother turned 70!  Wow!
Grandson Parker went to Atlanta to National FBLA. Pretty excited for him! He had so much fun.  He wasn't a fan of the humidity, though. lol  They were first is state and got 4th in Nationals!!!!  Pretty amazing!  So proud!

Madi and Lauren have gotten to spend time together this summer.
One day we grabbed Lauren and Madi and went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch, then the girls played Putt Putt golf. Next we went to Dairy Queen and had Blizzards, then we went down to the new and improved Lions Club Park! Quite a day. They've only played in the kids pool we have once and it was so cold.  Hoping it will be warm next time they go in there. lol!

This laugh reminds me of her mom!!!! lol. I love it!

We celebrated Madi's birthday and brought Riley and Marin too!  They all get along great! Went to the mall where the 4 girls went shopping and shopping and more shopping.  They didn't even break for lunch!  Then we took them to the pool on Bainbridge where they swam and played in the water. Then bought ice cream cones from McDonalds for the ride home! I think Madi enjoyed her birthday.   Love watching those girls laughing together!

Her birthday party was good too!

I hate July 4th and what it has become now days.  It isn't fun without being kids, having kids, and having nervous animals. Everyone uses illegal fireworks because there are several reservations here you can buy them at.  You are not suppose to leave the rez with them but obviously most people do!  Some are "weekenders" who only visit their summer homes or property once in a while and some live here. Started yesterday. My cat jets into the other room and hides, Sandy goes into our room and hides, and Scruffy barks and barks and barks. If he would be quiet I think the other two wouldn't get so upset by the bangs. I am glad the 4th is on a Monday. Maybe it will mellow out since most have to work Tuesday? Haha. Probably not. I sound like an old grump.  I try loud tv, fans, windows shut everything to calm them.  I hate to medicate them but may need to next year.
Papa picked blackberries and made a fantastic pie!  I hurt my foot just by itching it.  Weird.  My skin is getting thinner. We went and bought Papa new walking shoes (thank you to the handsome and helpful young man at Big Five Dylan Rogers!). Then we went grocery shopping. I wish someone would come home with us and haul it in and put it away! I would pay them! We bought a new set of house phones with an answering machine because our answering service never works. So now Tara can leave a message. lol. Programmed all the numbers in and set it up. Ordered Scruffy a new walking harness and a car safety belt for him. Then Papa rewrapped my foot, walked Scruff and gave the cat his birthday loving! Kitkat had his 4th birthday! Sandy got a treat too. That was a great day but exhausting. Madi and Lauren went to camp with Gateway Church. Andrew went as a counselor.  They had an amazing time.

God was really in the midst.  I love that they got to go and make new friends and had such a blast. They came back after swimming all week with sunburns.  We picked them up at church and took them straight to Dairy Queen for blizzards and Madi had 5 chicken strips. Hungry and tired kids who came and spent the night.  They weren't ready to be apart yet and had lots of inside jokes that they couldn't stop laughing about. They didn't go to sleep until after 1:30.  At camp they slept from 12-6.  So they were used to it. lol!
A groomer came to take care of Sandy.  Took Scruffy in just the other day. I am sure they feel better. I colored mine and I feel better. Next time I go get it done.  Can't handle doing it myself anymore!
Andrew got a new car the other day.  He went with his dad and bought a Silver 99 Honda CRV with only 108 miles on it. Ryan got him down $300 miles so that helped Andrew.  They went to Edgers and changed oil and did some stuff on it.  I pray it is a great car that will last him a long, long time!
I bought a Air Purifier for the house to clean the air and eliminate allergy stuff.  Works great!  I am not congested and my house smells fresher.  Papa can't smell so he sees no difference.  lol!  Also bought a new curtain rod and curtains in the living room.  Papa brought out a bin of curtains from the garage. I have tons of them some still in the package. Put some room darkening ones in the den.  Girls liked that.  It will keep the den cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter for sure. I love those curtains over shades.  I have them in my bedroom, too.
Well, I think I am caught up!  Enjoy the rest of your summer and God's blessings on you!!!! xoxo
