Another week flew by...Go Seahawks!

It has been another week since I posted.  Time goes by so fast!  Plus it doesn't seem like I have a lot to post about.  Our days are pretty much the same every day. Like papa says, "Everyday is Saturday!" Not really.  Weekdays we go get Lauren off to school.  She could do it by herself but we like to watch Houston Animal Cops in the morning. It's our thing. If we get out of the house early enough we listen to Brook's Bucks on 92.5 and see how well we do answering trivia questions. It is a lot of fun. Papa always stops to get her white hot chocolate. The girl at the latte stand knows exactly what Lauren likes and puts whipped topping and sprinkles on top. We don't even have to ask. It is practically done for her when we get up to the window.  Mornings are really fun!

It has been weird for her the past couple days at school.  There are too many kids in her grade now so they hired another teacher and divided the kids. Lauren got a different teacher but the next day they put her back with her original teacher. Lauren is so smart and gets along with everyone and has friends in all three classes so I don't think it really matters who she has. It is also nice to see Andrew in the mornings. Sometimes very briefly. Sometimes he is still in bed when we leave. His schedule varies because he goes to Olympic College in Bremerton part of the day and to the high school for a class. He works some evenings and Saturday. Has youth group and church Tuesday and Sunday. He is one of the busiest guys I know! So to spend time with him is nice.
Maddie is doing great. Back to normal.  Glad to see.
Saturdays we go and watch Lauren play Basketball. I actually really like these games! I like that they are indoor and not far. Of course for some reason I thought her game was in Poulsbo last weekend. Oops. It was in Kingston so we were a bit late. Got to see her make a basket! They stopped keeping score after a bit because our girls were winning so bad. Our girls are kicking butt on all the teams. I don't know if it is right or not to stop the score. Or if it is fair to our girls. They work hard to play good.
Maybe this is why  from her first game. We won but I DID feel sorry for the other team...

That scruffy dog is getting very comfortable with us. He is very sensitive. If the cat attacks my arm he will go between us and the cat walks away. If I am watching a movie or something and start to cry he looks at me to see if I am ok. If we are eating he is a begger. Not sure how to stop that. He came that way. He talks to papa. Watch this...

My heart still misses this guy...

Then there is Mona. I love this dog. It is Heathers' dog and I they got snow! I am jealous!

There is a Seahawk Rally in Poulsbo tomorrow at 5:00!  I am so excited for Sunday I just wish it was here. Kind of getting a bit tired of everything Seahawk on the news and everywhere. Of course, we are in ....

Just want the game to come on!!!!!!!!!  Go Seahawks!!!!!!

My sister is even getting into it!!!!!!!!! This is her house!

GO SEAHAWKS!

Great week so far!

Well, the sun is shining and the sky is blue! It is gorgeous out! Not that warm but so pretty out! I love this weather!  We only had snow two times at my house and both were next to nothing.  Kevon had to go up to Whistler before New Years Day to snowboard and play on the snowmobiles!  I am glad the black hood thingy kept him warm! lol

Papa and I went to breakfast the other day and invited Andrew. It was such a nice time. A man gave us a $4.00 off coupon for our breakfast!  So nice of him! So papa did a "Pay it Forward" at the gas station when we left! Then we went to Costco. Only spent $150.00 which is pretty good for that place. Then stopped at Walmart and spent more. But our frig, freezer and cupboard is full. I don't know how people function without a big freezer. We would be in BIG trouble without one. We shop once a month.

We got about 7 stuffed animals for Scruffy. We go to the dollar store for them, because he just rips them apart to get the squeaker out. We end up with stuffing all over the couch! It is funny but if the animals were real like they are on Toy Story...then it wouldn't be funny at all!

Lanny and I had such a good day together.  It is nice to spend time together! Usually we just sit at home in our own separate rooms watching our own separate TV shows. We enjoy it that way but it was also nice to be outside of the house too! lol!

The best news of late is Maddie is better!  Finally.  It could have taken longer but it seemed like forever!  She ate ravioli and water one day and then next thing you know it she is eating hot wings and went to school!  Had a great day so it is like she is over the hump! Praise God!  I have to give Karla credit too.  God does the healing but Karla sure helped it along! She is such a good mom. She took such good care of Maddie and knew exactly how to do this. She's so devoted and loves her children. And her transcriptionist job from home certainly has been a blessing.

I want to share some pictures of some of my favorite people. Enjoy!

Denika and her baby Victoria (my great great niece!)

My nephew Jack. He is doing great and I am so proud of him!
My other great great niece Riley!

My handsome nephew Andrew. He is going to be 18 in just over a month!
Patrick plays basketball and on game day he needs to dress up. He really cleans up nice and is such a cutey!

His older bro, our grandson Parker, is such a looker!

A couple more of Andrew. His friend Annie is a photographer. A great photographer!

Well, it is time to go watch Dr. Phil. It's about a guy that still lives with his folks. He is a slob, does nothing, can't hold a job, and uses his mom.  But the mom is an enabler.  I could see me doing that with my kids if they let me...cook for them, clean their rooms, pay their bills etc. I could easily be an enabler but they left me when they were of age. I guess the key is to make them want to leave? I could enable my brother, too, if my husband let me. But he won't. I would also like to think I raised productive human being to society...but I think they just wanted to move out. haha!

Well, have a great day.  God's blessings on you and your family!

Maddie, MLK, and Moving on!!!!!

Well, it's been quite a week. Maddie is NOT doing very well. I hoped and prayed for a quick recovery but she has been in pretty bad shape. Lost 6 pounds not eating. She is drinking water mostly. Which is good to keep her dehydrated but she was throwing up yesterday. She is still in pain. Karla is such a good mom and doing a great job taking care of her baby girl. My heart breaks for her. Please continue to pray for her.  I went and visited her a couple times last week. She is suppose to go back to school tomorrow but Karla is not sure yet.

Hood Canal Bridge is closed for car traffic...open for marine vessels. So irritating. Part of living over her in Jefferson County!
We went to Lauren's Martin Luther King assembly at school.  This is how cute she looked before school!

Lauren was great although she wasn't chosen to speak. I could hear her with the group. I was disappointed with the rest of the assembly, as was Amanda and Papa. I didn't like the choices the music teacher made or the principal. So weird. This is what I wrote earlier about it:
I thought it was to recognize MLK and one grade was to sing "Imagine" by John Lennon. Didn't get that at all. The song was to big for the age group and some of the words were not appropriate for Reverend King. "Imagine there's no heaven... no hell below us above us only sky" "...and no religion" I understand the basics of the song is a world of peace with no decisiveness. But can kids understand that or do they pick out words. Also the principal comparing MLK to Chavez and other dictators? MLK was about equality, love, peace and justice. It should have been about this man only. My opinion only!

I had lunch on Friday with Jael and her mom Nell! We met at Central Market and it was good to see them!

Well, I lost a good friend this week.  His heart gave out suddenly and he died. I loved this guy although I haven't seen him much over the years.  You just never know. :(

Now some good news... our Seattle Seahawks did it! They won the NFC Championship yesterday against San Francisco!  It was a hard game. But I think all championship games are.
We are going to the Superbowl! What a day!!!!!

A view of Seattle...the wheel in Seahawk colors with a football (clever) and Century Link Stadium to the right of it.

Seattle's own Macklemore posing...he played the halftime show!

And our own Ann Wilson from Heart sang the national anthem.

So Russell Wilson and Coach Pete Carroll both trying to say "Good Game" to 49er's.

Same pose but with different reasons.

Very nerve-wracking, stomach ache producing, exciting game.  Off to New Jersey to beat the Denver Bronco's (an old rivalry!)

If you have any questions about the issue with Richard Sherman check out this link.
