I really don't have much to write but I thought I would change from June to December. The pandemic is still going on. Since April. It is getting to me. I miss spending time with my family. They are keeping us safe. I see Tara every two week because she is still shopping for us. She does a wonderful job. We are so grateful for her! I am praying this ends soon. I am ready to get the shot. I am getting a bit anxious lately. The doctors can't help e because I can't see them. I worry a lot about Papa and My health through all this. I cling to the verse :Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

JUNE AND ALMOST SUMMER!
It doesn't much feel like summer. Maybe it is because of the virus.. It changes everything! I am in kind of a bummer mood right now. I have had health issues for over 8 years. It started with my back pain which I have had since around 1990. I came down with hypothyroidism in the 90's, I got diabetes 2010, GERD, weight gain, high blood pressure, restrictive pulmonary 2016 and depression over the years. The past eight I have gained more weight which makes my back worse and breathing difficult. I cannot walk far at all or my back and legs kill me and I have trouble breathing. So I have approached my doctor about it and she finally referred me to a cardiologist... by phone. We went over my history and suggested a ct scan. Well, come to find out I would have to go to Bellevue and that wasn't going to happen. So I got a call today that they would like to do a heart catherization. WHAT???? And since I don't want to go to Tacoma for it the cardiologist is going to refer me to Bremerton Harrison Health Care so I can have it done up here. That is IF I have it done. My brother just retired from doing those things and teaching how to. Doesn't mean I want it done. It scares me to death. So in a few weeks they will call and I better have my mind made up.
Speaking of... I wrote my own obituary. My kids and grandkids said I can't do it...it's not right. But I think if you want it right you should do it yourself. lol! We are checking out a few groups call People's Memorial Association and A Simple Cremation Service to line up our ducks and so our kids don't have to pay or hassle with it all.
Well, enough of that. Papa is making a German Chocolate cake. He hasn't done that in a long time. His birthday is in 5 days. Sure made the house smell good. But I have started cutting down this week because I am at my peak weight. Not good.
The grand kids are moving on up a grade now. Jared is going up to be in 9th grade and Joshua in 10th!!!

Lauren and Riley are going to be Seniors!
Madi is a different story. She is suppose to be a Senior too but she got a scholarship from the college she went to last summer for the writing program. She couldn't pass it up so she had to work hard and finish her high school courses NOW. I am so proud of her that she did it too! So she graduated from high school this year (no ceremony because of the virus) but in August she is off to Massachusetts to start college! She is pretty excited. I think 16 is too young but I am still so proud of the young lady she has become. We have been celebrating her with a neighborhood parade that went around streets and her cul-de-sac that we participated in. So did her other sets of grandparents. We followed about 15 cars up to her house while her and her mom stood outside in the rain with Joel video taping it. Madi looked so happy. People gave her flowers and cards! It was awesome.
Karla made these pictures of Madi when she started kindergarten and finished school. Then one of her through the years.
We had a graduation party last Saturday. She had three parties last weekend. It was so fun Here are som pictures!
It was so good to see everyone. Papa and I were the only ones wearing the masks. We have to keep ourselves protected. It would be bad if we caught the virus.
We saw the kids another time during this pandemic. Karla planned for Mother's Day they all come to our house and everyone brought their own lunches and we picnicked in our back yard. That was wonderful and I was so happy!
Well, that is about all we've been doing for the last couple months. I have been shopping Amazon and Walmart online quite a bit. Tara buys our groceries every week but I try to order some things to make it easier on her. I try to order box and canned things. Hope it helps her. Makes me feeling like I am doing something. Sure love that girl! Just recently bought Bisquick and Syrup. For papa's birthday I just bought a battery holder that holds about 84 batteries. I also bought hi a hose that curls up really small that he wanted. Saw them both on TV but they are better and no shipping fees on Amazon.
Kevon has people who come and takes care of his yard so he started paying them to come do ours too. That took such a huge burden off Papa. He was struggling with his breathing and getting tired. Kevon is a good son. Love him so much!
Our neighbors have the coolest tree I took a picture of for Papa. He said he never saw one before and we can't figure out what it is.
Well, our pets are all fine. She found someone to groom Scruffy and she was great!!! Right now he is limping. Hurt his foot or has arthritis. Cat is fine. Getting nails done every month.
Well, hope you have a great summer! Stay safe! God bless you!

61 days in lockup
I am writing again although I have nothing to say. Still living in the pandemic part of our lives. Still grounded. Still home. I can't really complain because it is the same things we did before the pandemic.... except Papa did the shopping for us instead of Tara and we could get our dog groomed. Our vet for our cat came and did his toe nails the other day. She wore a mask and only stayed a few minutes. We paid her and she was off. So happy to have him done. Hide those paws!!!
Now we need Scruffy groomed. He looks so ratty and is panting and hot all the time. Poor baby. He is now Fluffy Scruffy. He looks worse than he does in this picture.

Daughter, Tara, is doing an awesome job at picking up groceries for us! We feel bad she has to do this but I guess she is willing. She also shops for Brad's parents. We have been coming up with different meals. It's been interesting. My recipe site is here: https://langagerfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com/
RIBS, RICE AND GREEN BEANS
PIZZA BREAD
BAKED CHICKEN, JULIENNE POTATOES, CARROTS AND A BISCUIT
EVERY WEDNESDAY WE HAVE BREAKFAST FOR DINNER
My allergies are killing me. The trees are beautiful but bad on me. My rhododendron bush has started to bloom. It is so pretty!
I've been doing some shopping online. Got a new bathroom scale. I just don't like what it is telling me!!!! lol! I ordered a new halter for Scruffy to wear for his walks. Just stuff like that.
Well this is short but done. I hope it is lifted soon and until then... take care!

the virus
Well, well, well! I cannot believe these last couple months. All it has been is Coronavirus. It has taken over our state, country and world. How it has affected me:
We haven't been out to eat since February 25th. We had a lunch at Dairy Queen with my brother David, his daughters Alyssa and Jessica, Jessie's cute baby who just turned one, Jason and his daddy Charlie! It was fun because Lanny was there this time. Nice to see them and I love that baby!!!! (My great nephew)
I didn't know it would be my last outing for a while.
February Andrew turned 24. March 2nd was Lauren's 17th birthday. They didn't really have a party so we didn't go over.
They closed Lauren's school to check for the virus. Never reopened. All her band and debate and school activities stopped. Her and Madi also do running start which is classes at the local college instead of high school. They had to finish the quarter finals on line. So did Dylan who goes to University of Washington. The pandemic drastically changed our grandkids lives. Andrew ended up staying at his mom's. Where he was living was blocks from the epicenter where it all seemed to start in this country... Kirkland by the nursing home and hospital where many lost their lives. All schools shut down so Andrew who works for a school district ended up working by phone. Parker is still in the front lines with his job, still around people at his job. Dylan ended up being put on hold at work and school and back home. The UW started it's classes back after spring break on line. So did Lauren and Madi with their college courses. Madi's job at Penny's is stopped for a while. So is Jordy and her husbands...and they are home bound during this time.
Our kids are surviving. Some still working and a few not. They pretty much grounded us at our home. haha! Our health would be seriously at risk if we caught the virus. It could mean life or death (no exaggeration) . So this whole time we have been good soldiers and behaved. Tara has been remarkable going and getting our groceries. Lanny will meet her and she gives him our groceries. She shops for others too. She is amazing. And we are so thankful for her.
I had a birthday April 12th. I turned 64 so had to sing Beatles "When I'm 64" all week. I had such a great birthday. All the kids (except Ryan) called and I got flowers from Tara, Karla and Madi dropped off flowers (outside). Yellow (my favorite).
I got a nice card from Heather. Kevon's back went out a few days before my birthday. Lanny made a turkey dinner for my big day and we packed up some for Kev and took it to him. He came out and got it at the porch from papa. No birthday hugs or nothing but I did get to see Kev and Karla and a grand daughter!
Lanny made a great dinner and has been saying Happy Birthday to me all month.
I started riding my exercise bike in January when I started talking to my diabetic nurse Jane on the phone. She calls frequently to check on me and see how I am doing. I've got my blood sugar under control finally.
Karla, Joel, Madi and Dylan added someone to their family! Meet Bella! She is so beautiful and has already brought so much laughter and love into their home.
We've tried experimenting with dinners. We tried chicken lasagna. Not great. But it has been fun. I order as much as I can online from Amazon or Walmart.
Today is our grandson 14th birthday!! Happy birthday Jarod!!!
