This past week....caught up! Games and concert

TODAY:
Seems like I am posting more than I actually am.  It is Tuesday and I am just sitting here watching the drizzle outside and The Investigators on TV.  I love detective shows.  They are fascinating.  Papa is taking Scruffy for a walk.  Not sure how long the dog will want to be out there.  He isn't really into rain.  Last night was weird because there is an animal out back Scruffy was barking at and the neighbors heard noises too during the night.  He kept growling at the door.  Either a coyote or some kind of wild cat had gotten a hold of something.  Creepy.
Took a shower and then we went shopping again today.  Just got the few things we didn't get last week.  Glad it is done. We're set for the month.  Dylan is suppose to golf today in our area but with it raining I don't know what games will be playing. Jordy is suppose to play tonight at the fairgrounds and Melvin up in Sequim.  Busy day...

YESTERDAY:

Talked with Andrew several ties.  He calls me on his way to school and we talk.  It is really nice. I love that boy. We went to Lauren's game in the afternoon.  Our team lost. :(  We scored over 30 points so this was good.  Our team was playing up....meaning our players were 6th graders and the other team was 7th and 8gh graders and quite a bit bigger with longer arms.  I thought we did pretty good against them.  Papa and I stopped and got Teriyaki to Go for dinner.  It was good. Madi called. We talked for a bit.  Talked to Dylan on the phone too.  I love talking to my family!

SUNDAY:

We were wiped out.  But papa still mowed the front and back yard.  Made chicken thighs and rice for dinner.  It was really good.

SATURDAY:

We drove down to Tacoma.  I talked to Kevon and Andrew on my cell all the way down there. It was nice. We found the ballfield with no problem.

It was hot out but a cool enough breeze to keep my jacket on. Unfortunately my face was sun burned. Still hurts to this day.  Unbelievable how many times I touch my face a day!  You never know until it is burnt.  Riley pitched and she was amazing!!!!  She really can pitch!!!!  She didn't get to bat because of her ankle.

After the game we drove over to Crispy Creme and got some donuts.  Then we stopped at Sonic Drive In and had footlong chili dogs.

BYE BYE SONIC!!!!

They were so good.  We didn't stop at the other games we were going to go to.... we got back a little later than we thought we would. Talked to Andrew and met him at Ryan's house. Lauren and Christina was there. (Oh, by the way, Ryan already has a girlfriend).  We visited for a bit and gave them some donuts and Lauren a footlong she had requested.  We came home and Scruffy was more than happy to have us home!!!!

FRIDAY:

Jordy's softball game was cancelled.  The other team didn't have a bus to bring their girls here.

THURSDAY:

We went to Riley's concert where she sang two solo's.  She did them so beautifully. I was so proud to be there and be her grandma!!!!

Well, I am sure thee is more to say, but I am tired and must need a nap. lol!  Hope you have a great rest of the week!!!

Happy birthday Jared!

YESTERDAY:

I blew it.  I didn't get on yesterday so I didn't post my grandson's birthday greetings and pictures!  He turned 9 yesterday and he said he had a good birthday!  He had one of his favorite dinners last night and won their baseball game.  He had a party with 3 of his friends last weekend.  Does a 9 year old birthday get any better than that????

Here is the picture I posted for  him of his last nine years.  I sure love this boy!!!!

We had some nice visitors yesterday.  Niece Hilary, great niece Savanah and her boyfriend stopped by on their way back to Forks.  Savanah looked so beautiful... she got her braces off!  She was pretty before but I am sure she feels much better now. :D

We went to Jordy's game in Kingston yesterday.  Lauren went with us but didn't even get out of the van.  It was so stinking cold!!! There was a breeze going through too.  My knees were hurting from being cold.  Dylan showed up at the game too!  Not so much to see Jordy....but a girl on the Kingston team. lol!  Come to find out she wasn't playing anyway. But it was good to see Dylan.  We only stayed until the 4th inning and then came home to warm up after a stop at McDonald's.  The game was 4-3 when I walked off the field to the van...but Jordy text me later and the score ended up being 27-26!!! Jo lost by one point.

TODAY:

Got up around 6:30 and took a shower.  Papa and I went shopping.  We went to Albertson's and got some pork chops for $1.99, some bacon, hamburger, steaks, and produce.  Then we went to the dollar store and got some dog toys, cleaner and tablets.  Stopped at burger king for breakfast sandwiches. Then went to Walmart for the rest of the groceries.  It is getting so hard for us the older we get. His legs were killing him by the time we finished as was my back.  Then we come home and unload all the groceries and put them away.  We buy a months worth so we have 2 carts of food and paper products. Crazy.  Papa is napping now. I put a new shower curtain in our bathroom and a bathmat. And I just paid bills.  I got appointments for our animals to get their nails clipped next week.  I am thinking it would be nice to go to Jonah's baseball game.  He has one on Saturday too.  Jonah is Lauren's neighbor and one of her best friends.
Today is Earth Day.  I have great respect for this earth and what God has given us. I am not a "tree hugger" and wouldn't risk my life for a tree.  We sure have the most beautiful country around here and I do love the trees and Pacific Northwest.  We recycle and reuse.  When I taught the kids I also learned a lot about Earth Day.  So happy Earth day!

A few pictures of our area for our Georgia and out of state friends:

And my beautiful born and raised Northwest kids!!!!

TOMORROW:

It seems like a busy day tomorrow.  But we're going to have to narrow it down to one event.  We are going to go to Riley's Spring concert.  She is singing a solo.  She has the prettiest voice. I will have to try and record it.  Lauren has a game we will miss.  She has plenty more games.  This will be Riley's last concert in elementary school.  I am excited to see her perform.

Well, Ryan just left with the micro cell device.  I guess I have to buy my own. :(   He doesn't have good cell service at his house either so he needs it.  He bought it when he was living here for the month because we get such bad service.  So if you try to text or call my cell.... good luck until I get my own.  Lauren will be happy to have service at her dad's though.

Have a great rest of the week!

Meeting Dean and almost Jared's bday!!!!

YESTERDAY:

Wow, it was a fast weekend.  It was a really nice though.  The weather was so beautiful!  Friday we just chilled around the house.  Did some cleaning and that was about it.  On Saturday we stayed close to the phone in case we were needed.  It was a hard day. Family drama.  I will always be there to protect grandchildren. But there was nothing I could do.  As a grandma you can only do so much. It is hard but when you forget your place you lose respect and possibly love from your family.  Thankfully there are other mature and level headed people in the family that are in a better place to help in situations.  I don't want to get too into detail but continue to pray for our family.
Let's move onto Sunday!  It was a good day.  The night before my sister Libby asked if I wanted to come up to her house for breakfast and to meet Dean (my great nephew!)   So we were up in Sequim by 9:00 and had a great visit with Libby and her husband Kevin, their daughter (my niece) Kara and her husband Kevin, and the baby Dean.  He's over a year old and this is the first time I have met him. He is an awesome, smart, cute little guy!  A little shy.  I didn't get to hold him but my kids were the same way. lol!  And I took pictures!!!!
Nana Libby, Grandpa Kevin with Dean

His foot...he loved looking at this picture.  Dean and his mama Kara.

I love my family and had a great time with them!!!  I took a nap during the day because last night I went to my birthday movie!!!

Karla and Madi took me to see "The Sound of Music"!  It was great to see it on the big screen.  There were only 7 of us in the whole theater.  That surprised me.  I was all geared up for singing along....but I guess it wasn't a sing-a-long.  I sang enough to have Madi cover my mouth and Karla cover her face. I lip singed the rest of the movie.  Except when I burst out laughing at one of the biggest love scenes in the movie.  Maria and the Captain was professing their love when Maria started singing I started laughing.  I couldn't stop!  I look over and Karla was doing the same thing!  We both had tears rolling down our face.  It was a good night with my daughter and grand daughter!  Love them so much!!!!

TODAY:

I did some cleaning today. Talked with Lauren.  She went to the Sound of Music with her mom yesterday.  She had fun spending time with her mama.  Andrew called on his way to his college class. I love it when he calls.  We talk for the whole trip (hands free).  He is an amazing kid who I love so much. He is smart and mature, sees and knows too much, but he is still and always will be my little baby boy grandson.  It was a good talk.   Lauren's first Spring Basketball game is tonight down in Port Orchard.  We don't go to games that are too far.  But she has another one this week.
Scruffy has been such a cling-on!  He laid on my lap most of the day.  I think it was because I was gone so much yesterday.  He is so addicted to me it is sick. lol!

TOMORROW:

Tomorrow i our baby grandsons birthday!!!!!!!  He  will be 9 years old!  I will post the newborn ones today and more tomorrow.

Jordy has a game tomorrow in Kingston we will be going to. Tara won't be there but we'll be there to cheer her on.  There will also be a basketball game on Thursday and Jordy has another game on Friday.  Heather is suppose to come this weekend.  There is a housewarming party for Jay and Kristen on Saturday.

Well, I guess I am done today.  I want a piece of pie.  Have a wonderful week!!!!

Beautiful Thursday!!!!!

TODAY:

It is Thursday already.  Having bbq spareribs for dinner.  Can't wait!  I think I would like rice with it. And green beans.  Sounds filling.

I am so excited for my Georgia friend, Cindy! She has become a grandma for the first time today.  As a grandma, I know there is nothing like the love for a grandbaby.  She is going to be the best, too. Congratulations to the whole family!!!!!

Didn't do too much today.  Cleaned up, did dishes, rode my bike. Didn't strain myself.  Luckily, papa didn't either.  He was going to get up on the roof to sweep it off and clean the gutters.  He came in the house and had changed his mind.  He is starting to realize him limitations.  I think it really hit him when one of his best friends fell off a ladder a few months ago and broke his back.  Scary as you age. He said he is ready to move into a non maintenance home.  Maybe it is time.
Andrew is coming over to pick up Mac tonight. We had him for a couple nights again.  He'll be happy to go back to Ryan's house.  He loves being inside and the freedom!
Today is my cousin Kathy's birthday.  She is a teacher in Rapid City.  I love her.  She is funny, friendly, sweet and pretty special!!!! Happy birthday Kathy!!!!

YESTERDAY:

I didn't do too much.  We picked up Lauren from school and took her to the dentist.  I got to say hi to Meghan (Kevon's past wife... I hate the term ex).  She works at Lauren's dentist.  Lauren has NO cavities again.  Good girl!  Got her some food after the appointment that she couldn't eat for an hour after the appt. because she had fluoride treatment.  She pigged out when it was time. lol!  Then we did homework and papa took her to youth group.  It was nice spending time with her!

I saw these pictures and had to show you!!! This was the Junior High I went to in 8th grade.  It was built in 1927!  I came from all new schools when we moved to Kingston and about died when I saw this old building.  Now I can look at it  different. It really is a pretty awesome building.

And here is a picture from the back of the school with the track.  There were project houses behind the school and when Dave and I were first married we lived in one in front of the dark double decker house.  He took me to the track and we raced around it to get me to go into labor with Karla.  Didn't work.  Not one of our smartest ideas.  We were young and dumb. lol!

TOMORROW:

Tomorrow is Friday!  I like Friday's. Papa is making his fish and chips again.  He made them once before and they were so wonderful!!!!  That is really all I have planned but the weather is going to continue to be wonderful!!!!!  Have a great weekend!!!!
