Mashup Monday and more

Just a little fun on my blog today!  I thought it would be fun to look at celebrity look alike and see which one is most believable. Here ya go...

Today is Monday and Lauren is home!!!! She was gone for a week visiting another set of grandparents on the other side of the state. I really missed her. Now she is staying with us a week! Andrew is going to camp. She has soccer camp. The first day is always the hardest but I think she'll love it by the end of the week! A couple times this week she also has soccer practice for her Fall team already. Her parents came and took her to it. I hope Ryan gets to help. She loves it when her dad is involved.
When Lauren got home this week her parents had a surprise for her! They redid her whole bedroom.  It is beautiful!!!! And Lauren loves it so much!!!

Guess what I got to have for dinner!!!!! Doesn't it look good?

I haven't been sleeping well the past few nights. I don't know why. I toss and turn all night long. I have a lot on my mind.  I have some hurts that I am trying to deal with and giving things to the Lord is all I can do. But then I still think about things. I could use your prayers please.

We have had such beautiful sunny weather in the 70's mostly. Perfect. It's been this way for weeks! 32 days straight!  They say we may see a little rain on Thursday or Friday. We need it though.

I wanted to share this because sometimes in life it seems like we give and give and love and love and get nothing in return.  We don't give to get and love unconditionally. But sometimes it would be nice to be noticed.

Then we must remember....

I hope these encourage you if you need it!  Have a great week! xoxo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KITKAT!!!!

Our baby is 1 years old today.  A year of the good and the bad. The attacks and the cuddling. The cute and the ugly.  The laughter and the yelling. Playing and running away!  Us and him!  Should he stay or should he go?  A whole year of this. And it has been worth every day, hour and minute. This cat has so much personality!

He loves Lauren!  They are really close.  And he loves Papa! He follows him like a dog!  He wakes him up at 5 a.m. for breakfast and to go outside. Any time papa goes to the front porch with Toby to sit...Kitkat will sit in the window watching and cry and cry until papa goes to the back yard to sit. If we are both in the house he wants one of us outside with him. Not always but he lets us know.
He has always loved being with papa!

When he is affectionate he wants papa to sit in his chair with his blanket on his lap and up to his neck (and only his blanket will work) ...then Kitkat climbs up and starts sucking on the blanket and kneading it.

He is so noisy when he does it and he likes papa to pet him. If papa stops the cat will eventually touch him in the face with his paw to get him to do it. It is so cute and funny.

When Lauren kisses him too much he puts his paw on her mouth.

When we first got him I thought he was adorable. We went through several names: Sherbet, Pib (pain in butt), and a few more. But Kitkat won out and fits him. Not long after we got him.... he started getting comfortable and acting like a kitten. Cute but awful. He got into everything and there seemed to be no boundaries with him! These sum it up...

I loved these ones because that was how he was growing up!  The best thing about him was he never went potty outside his litter box...not ever.

The big change in him came when we got him fixed. Then Summer started and it was almost impossible to keep him inside. So Papa and Ryan secured the fencing even better so he couldn't get out and he loves it. He loves hunting and killing and climbing the tree and chasing bugs and going under the deck and laying in the sun. And he uses the giant outside litter box! And he slept so much better and calmed down completely.

I am so glad papa said "We don't get rid of animals. You get one and you keep it. It is family. He is family....

.....forever!

Short but sweet Wednesday Post

uff-da!  To bed at 11:30 and up at 5:30. What is wrong with this picture? And no reason for it! I do see a nap in my future.

Lanny is off walking the dog. They rarely miss a morning. It is their time. Good for both of them. I tried going with them before. I slowed them down, was a distraction to Toby, and kind of ruined it for them. They've been doing this for 3 years now.

For two days after the Paul McCartney concert my calves hurt so bad!  Trying to keep up with Kevon is tough. I guess that is the reason I don't care for Seattle. It is such a hurried existence.  Anyway, yesterday I started riding my exercise bike again. My calves were better and I was ready. I will try to keep it up.

We are having a very quiet week around here. Papa went and had his ECHO yesterday. His appt with Dr. Johnson is tomorrow. Lauren is off visiting with her other Grandma for the week.  I miss her already!

Dylan got a new truck (well, it is new to him) and he will have his license at the end of September.

Random pictures stolen from other people....
Here is Heather back with her family after a trip to Vega's with her sister and some girlfriends.

And here is Heather and Tara in Vega's!

A new wonderful way to cook Corn on the Cob! Check out my recipes...mostly stolen: http://langagerfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com/

I love this boy....my handsome grandson, Andrew.

And two more I love so much...Jared and Joshua at their weekend Boy Scout camping trip!

Got all the bills paid yesterday. Need to buy some groceries and I am done for another month.

Til Friday!  Have a great rest of the week!
