saturday in may

I don't have a lot to post about except my health. I got to the end of my rope.  I had to do something.  So, I did the only thing I could.  I went on a low carb / high protein diet.  It is the only diet I could do that hopefully works.  Especially with diabetes.  I have been at it for 4 days and have lost 3 pounds. I am really proud of myself.  I am going in the right direction and I am not hungry.

Things have been going good lately. We took Scruffy to the vet.  He got updated on his shots and some medicine and cleaning of his ear.
A mole got in our house (thank you cat) and we locked it in the toyroom when we couldn't find it.  We didn't want to just leave the cat to get it because he would have dropped it on me when I was sleeping.  Nice gift.  Papa is in there today cleaning the toyroom out looking for it.  It needs cleaning out anyway and getting rid of toys.  The grandkids outgrew the Barbies and toys. :(  Keeping Kevon's wrestlers though. He's had them a long time and all the grandkids have played with them.

And we are keeping Andrew's ambulance.  And a few stuffed animals.  But I heard a lady say on hoarders that keeping things  because they bring back good memories keeps you hoarding.... and they won't mean nothing to our kids down the line.  So it has helped me to throw things out.  I can always take a picture if I want the memory of something.  Easier to store and delete. haha!

The flag is out for memorial day weekend.

It took Alyssa, Jessica, Charlie (her boyfriend) and Dylan to breakfast the other morning.  It was fun. Interesting conversation. I am pretty blunt with my girls.  They are use to it though.  I think I am their Aunt Lorraine.

Papa got another hummingbird feeder.  Now we have two and they are using them both. We get up to a dozen birds at a time.

Well I just wanted to check in.  Have a great weekend!

May

Wow.... we are into May.  I need to update this page!  I am into this by a month and need to remember what has happened.  Last time I posted was the 21st of April....Jared's birthday.
The 22nd I got my Shingles shot.  Excited about it. I really wanted one for the past 5 years but I wasn't old enough until I was 60.  I've seen shingles.  I don't want it.  Papa had his shot 6 years ago.  We get shots for the flu every year and we are caught up on all of our other shots; pneumonia, tetanus, and other inoculations.  I believe in it.  Lauren had a couple friends over for the weekend. Lauren had a game the 28th but I messed up my back a little bit and didn't go.  Lanny went.  That about wraps up April.  Besides family drama which I am not posting here.
May....we checked out a church in Port Ludlow that had all grey haired people. Nothing wrong with that but it was weird there was no youth group or kids.  They had a great trio there singing.  It was amazing.
We had brunch with the Bussings again.  We went to Elmer's.  I had the Lite version of Chicken Fried Steak, hash browns, scrambled eggs, a biscuit with gravy. Lanny had a burger and Cheryl always has fish and chips.  It is a nice time.
The next day I went to see Dr. Sy about my lungs. He is a pulmonary specialist. Still didn't find out anything new.  I was given asthma spray.  The next day I went and had an echo-cardiogram.
Mother's Day was really nice. We went to Amanda's for dinner. They made steak, scallops, asparagus (which I found out I don't like but tried!) and risotto.  Kevon and Lauren played the guitar and sang. It was so much fun.  All the kids called to wish me happy mothers day.... Ryan, Lois and Libby all text me. It was a great day. Missed mama like every year.

Ryan came over to try to sell his lawnmower.  I guess the ice is broke.
Riley is starting another treatment on her back.  Praying it works and she starts feeling better!
Karla's last day as a transcriptionist and she'll be working at an insurance place.  Big career change and I am so proud of her!!!! Karla and her kids went and saw Selena Gomez.  Dylan has gone to a couple Mariner games.
I read Dylan's book  It is a good book!  So proud of him!!!!

Coming up:  Viking Fest is this weekend.  We won't be going.  Lauren will be in the parade and the one in Bremerton. Then she heads up to Victoria, Canada to be in their Victoria Day Parade. She also has two basketball games coming up this week.  Heather and her family are going on a mini vacation to the ocean this week!  I am so excited for them!  They need this before Parker graduates.

I am done for now.  Hopefully I will write again sooner than later.
