I am on the road to recovery!!! Yay! It is awesome. Lanny went to the doctor right away when he started getting sick and his doctor gave him an antibiotic for influenza and instead of him taking all 10 he gave me 5 and we shared....without my knowledge. lol! But it worked. Dr Lanny healed us both! Well, God did... truth be told. It is great to feel better. Still tired but I'm always tired.
Since I missed so much time in posting I am going to go backwards again. So I am starting with yesterday. We made Navy bean and ham soup and bread for dinner. Nothing more cozy than the smell it creates. Nummmmy!
And it has been cold and getting colder out. 20's and 30's. Clear blue sky so no snow. It is just a cold north wind coming down from Canada.
Yesterday Papa also took the animals to get their nails clipped. I wish we could do it ourselves but we are both too cowardly. Also we had to have the cable guy back yesterday. He put a new wire up from the pole to the house because we were getting sporadic use of the cable. My internet kept going out reception on papa's tv and phone out. We can't have that. (We could have never survived in the 1800's! lol) But the guy was so awesome and it was done pretty quickly. Very thankful they could come and fix it. On Friday they hooked up Tivo for us. I absolutely love it!!!! We can record up to 6 different shows at a time. We can watch Netflix on tv. We have almost limitless hours to record about 1000 hours. We can watch any recording on different tv's or start in one room and finish in another. I love how easy it is and the remote. I am in heaven. We usually watch recordings instead of live TV.
Ok, so Sunday you should know what was going on if you know me at all. We watched our Seahawks beat the Rams. It was awesome!!!! We are doing great! So proud of them!
It was a good day. Not feeling good yet on Sunday but just stayed in my chair with my blankie and stayed warm watching the Seahawks. Grand daughter Jordy made me a blanket! I call it Blankie. I love it so much. It is so warm and got me
through the
flu cuz it's
blue. I know, that was corny. More awesome news is my grandkids got a puppy on Sunday for Christmas so that means I have a new great granddog! Her name is Sophie and she is adorable. Her eyes look like a little bear! Here are the pictures they sent. Look at those paws! She will make a great watch dog one day.
Sick on Saturday so not much going on. I did make a turkey pot pie and papa really liked it. That's about all I did. Having a great time with Sandy girl and Mac attack here. We sure love those dogs. Sandy got the ham bone from Christmas and I think she was the happiest dog in the neighborhood!
Friday is when the cable guy came over. Oh, I was so sick that day!!!! I went to bed when he got here. I had the cat and Scruffy with me in the bedroom and all Scruffy did was bark and bark. Oh, he would stop long enough for me to doze off ...then he would start back up. Did I tell you terriers are yappers? Didn't think of that... our old dog Buddy was a yapper and a terrier....and we got another one. Oh well....when we saw that cute face sitting quietly in the kennel looking at us between two big dogs that barked a lot.... we had to take him home. He was so quiet and cute. lol!
I love this picture I took. I like how everything is black and white but his collar. Pretty cool, huh?
That was our Friday. After the guy left I lived in my recliner again.
Thursday was Christmas. It was quiet. We told people to stay away so they didn't get sick! I wouldn't wish this flu on anyone! Brad was at home with it too. :( I cannot even remember what we ate for supper. Must not have been much.

| so sick. :( |
On Christmas Eve Papa went to the doctor. So glad he went. He had been coughing for over 24 hours hard. He had a temp and was so sick. That's how we found out he had the flu and got antibiotics for it. I guess 7 people have died from it in our state alone. They are now calling it an epidemic. Our flu shots didn't work. Obviously. And the doctor (with all Lanny's health concerns) won't take a chance on his health at all. He has been his doctor for over ten years. They have a great relationship but sadly his doctor is leaving. Either going to retire or open up a small clinic somewhere remote. Maybe in Montana. Sad for Papa. Doctors should always stay with us til the end. Our end. Right?
I really can't remember much that went on the few days before Christmas. Someone snapped at me via email. This person has slammed the phone down on me several times before... and been rude and disrespectful to me more times than I can even tell. And I have allowed it because she is my brothers ex and mother of my two beautiful nieces. But no more. I don't deserve it when all I try to do is be good to people. I had hoped to get together with the girls around Christmas. I never said on Christmas day. And with Lanny getting the flu and my brother lost and out in the ozone again Christmas was out. Anyway, it wasn't my fault but I was still scolded for it. I just tried to bring kids together with their dad. And I want so much to stay in touch with them. I adore those girls. Hopefully I can just go through them and not deal with her anymore.
I use to try and hook up Lanny and his sister who has moved back to Washington State again...he would be willing to meet up with her anywhere just to see her. They were really close as children until they were separated when he was around 5. They were reunited in the 80's for awhile. After their mom died she doesn't contacted him. He is not sure why. We talked today and he told me not to try again. If she wants to see him ....she knows how to reach him. Just like the girls are old enough to reach their dad themselves and talk to him. I don't have to be their go through anymore. They all have each others numbers. I was just trying to do good.....but I really am doing no good.
Well, that was long and a bit off the path. From Friday the 19th until Sunday the 21st. Heather and her family stayed here. That was great!!!! They slept out in the trailer. It rained both nights and was pretty loud for them. I love the sound of rain. Sadly Joshua was sick when he got here. So they went to bed early. We did too since we did a lot of our cooking on Friday for Saturday.
Saturday was our Family Christmas! Joshua was feeling better but when Riley got here she got really sick. Poor baby. She didn't stay for the sleepover...neither did Jordy. Dylan and Madi both stayed, Lauren, Parker, Pat, Josh and Jared stayed the whole weekend. Andrew and I sat up talking into the night on Saturday about all sorts of things. Everyone had gone to bed and it was just the two of us. It is nice sharing our hearts and thoughts. It was a great Christmas. Everyone was here but Ryan. He doesn't understand how much we missed him and wanted him here. :(
I will share a few of my favorite pictures from the day!

| This is what she asked us for. A beanbag chair. |
Parker:
 |
| Ok... Parker is into anime stuff and really wanted this hoodie. And lived in it. |

| Papa gave little house cups and a shiny penny to every grandchild. He told them the story about Little House on the Prairie and he had done the same to our kids when they were little. I think Tara is the only one that still has her cup. |
Patrick:
Riley *who was sick all day :(

 |
| They were bugging my feet and it made them hysterical. Lauren and Pat are weird. lol |
 |

 |
| Pigging out on pizza! |
 |
| Our cat avoids kids, but he loves Jared. He sat and watched him play with his car. Jared was very tender with the cat too. So sweet. |
