Basketball, Berta, Breakfast and Birthdays

hello!   I guess if I write every month I will get to change my background page each time. lol!  All is fine.  I had a great and sad weekend last weekend.  Great because we got together as a family!  Haven't done that since Christmas!  We celebrated Andrew's birthday. He turned 20 years old.  My oldest grandchild.  Weird.  But we had a great time, great service and amazing food.  Nummmm.  We went to the Oak Table in Silverdale.  Around the table was Jared, Joshua, Papa, Don, Tara, Heather, Jordy, Patrick and Andrew on one side...Madi at the end...Karla, Joel, Dylan, Kevon, me, Lauren and Riley on the other side of the long table.  Here are some pictures:
Lauren is 13 in 4 days from this picture....this Wednesday.

They did some "switching faces.... didn't do much when it was Karla and Dylan because the basically have the same face! lol

Lauren and Andrew switching faces. So funny!

Last day being a teenager.
After everyone went their separate ways (Heather with me, Papa with Don, Andrew with Jordy and Lauren with Auntie Tara.), Heather and I stopped at Kevon's work and then we went to visit Berta.  She isn't doing too well.  I was there less than 2 weeks ago and she so sick then But now she is doing really bad... which is to be expected but I wasn't prepared for seeing her like this.  Broke my heart.  I don't know if I wrote this before but she has cancer.  She started out with bladder cancer, they took out 80% of the liver before they found out. Mary Moran and Jolene George were there when I got there....and Rick and Kathy (Berta's bro). Mary and Jolene left.  I sat with Berta by myself and just rubbed her arm and watched her breathe while she slept.  She slept most of the time but when I told her I loved her she whispered "I love you too."  Kathy came in and tried everything to get Berta to say it to her.  Too funny. Scott got home from Costco and Rick and Kathy left.  Scott and I went down memory road looking at pictures and remembering high school. We got a few laughs in and were distracted for a bit.  Christy (him and Berta's daughter) and Heather have been friends since they were little. They got time to visit.  It was a tough visit to see Berta though. Hospice has been coming in.  Please pray for Berta to be painfree and for Scott.

Lauren's been playing basketball.  Last Thursday was another amazing day.  Papa and I went grocery shopping and I got my haircut short. Then we went to Lauren's game in Silverdale.  I was worried about the game at the beginning....we were losing by over 10 points. Second half we started playing! Lauren made the tying basket that sent them into overtime. That was so exciting and she was so happy!

We watched for awhile but we had to leave to get to Riley's concert down the highway. The game went into a couple more overtimes and we won the game.  Lauren called after the game and was so excited!!!  We got to Riley's concert just in time. Thankfully Tara saved us a seat! It was such an amazing concert.  The music was really good. It was the whole school district honors choir from grade school through high school.  I loved it and it ended with the song "Hallelujah"....one of my favorites.  It was held at our old church which they remodeled and it is huge now. I took pictures but none turned out.  It is with my new phone. I wish I had some.

Well....that about wraps up our February.  I hope you all have a wonderful March!  God Bless!!!

Hello... I am back for now!

I am so bad.  I didn't write about our Christmas, New Years, or the whole month of January.  So much for a diary.  I kept thinking I would go in and play catch up and then it becomes such a burden you don't want to do it because it is too big.  And I seem to get side tracked so easily.  Right now Miami CSI is on but I will see if I can do two things at once. lol!  I bet ya'll are missing me.  the whole 2 people who read it (Heather and Theresa!).

Well, I have been fine.  Just fine.  Not super, not bad, just fine.  I could be doing a lot better.  I am working on it.  Really I am.  Karla went with me to the doctor recently to see what is up with my back and breathing etc...  I need to lose weight and get off my big butt more. It won't cure my back but it will help my legs get stronger.  blah blah blah.

Our dog is doing great.  He makes us laugh every day with his silliness.  He looks so scruffy right now as he needs a haircut so bad. So do I.  We are both scruffy! haha!  I think we skipped out on the snow this year.  Kind of makes me sad but I am also ready for Spring to come. My tulips and daffodils are coming up already.  Not to mention the groundhog today!  He didn't see his shadow so that means spring is coming early.  That has always confused me.  I would think if he saw his shadow it would mean sunny times.....but no.... he has to not see it for Spring to come.  Oh well, I confuse easy.

My grandson Patrick got a new truck.  As a bonus here is a picture of their Sophie dog!
You can tell by Patrick's pants it IS dirt bike time!!!  Don, Patrick and Joshua LOVE this time of year!  Here is Joshua:

Joshua and Jared are both playing basketball.  Here is a picture of Jared.

Lauren decided to play Middle School basket ball.  I am glad she chose to do it.  She signed up late so she is JV. But that is ok....she will probably do really well.   She went to the orthodontist today. She will be getting her braces in a few weeks.

Not much going on with Madi or Riley.  Riley was pretty sick recently.  Jordy is working at the pool with the YMCA and taking cosmetology classes so I am hoping to get her to cut my hair soon.

Grandson Parker is in braces now and wears them really good. He is so handsome.  Heather posted this picture of Parker and his laugh.... I just love it.  It is one of his Senior pictures.  Grandson Andrew Black took the picture down at our beach.  I really do love this photo.

Andrew also took some of Dylan for his Senior pictures too!  Turned out great also!!!!

I got a new cell phone.  Samsung Galaxy 6.  It is kind of fun but it is hard to figure out so many things on it. It is a bit too much but I have time to figure it all out.  Once I get to the apps I have problems figuring them out too.

Well, that CSI Miami made me cry.  Now I am watching Worst Cooks in America.  That won't make me cry.   This show makes me laugh.  One thing I also get confused abut is why are the burgers and meat always cooked rare?  yuk.  And the chefs always say "This is cooked perfect!"

Last month seemed like a tough month.  Lots of stars died and two people I knew.  One was Mary Lou Shansby and the other was Jeff Jones.  They are both from our old church and he had a handlebar mustache and she was very involved with women's ministry and both had servants hearts.

That is about all I have time for.  Hope you got your Joyce fix!  xoxoxo
