Recipes I have tried.

Today I am going to post the pictures from recipes that I ( I should say we ) have cooked!

First one is Monkey bread. Anyone can make this and it is a fun one to make with kids! Tastes so good!  Everyone loved it on Easter.

7-up Biscuits are good.  I would like to try them with sausage gravy some time!

Apple Pie Bites are super simple and fun with kids too. I peel the whole apple though. Not a fan of the peelings.  These are so good!

Sizzler Shrimp. Does it get any better?  Love it! A bit messy to make but totally worth it!

Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi is really nummy, too. Love shrimp. So does papa. This shrimp is easier to cook and less messy.

Papa's Chocolate cookies are the best!  Peanut Butter Oatmeal makes them so good and you need to cook on the stove but no baking.  They can be a bit tricky to make but he does ok. Got the recipe from his mama.

Pizza bites.  Tried these. Not so impressed.  Maybe I just didn't do it right.

I couldn't find 10 but that is because I got lazy!  lol!  There are some cool recipe's in my website.

I have more I want to try than the ones I have tried. I don't like to cook or bake so this is all kind of silly. But I love cooking shows and recipes. And I love to eat. haha! Go figure.

Papa is taking a nap with his dog. His dog loves it. He doesn't sleep with me anymore. He jumps off the bed when I come in.

It was a pretty good weekend. Long weekends are always fun for most people. For us it is the same. Saturday Maddie and Lauren were dropped off after camping with their families and spent the night. We ran to walmart, stopped for fries and shakes, came home and the girls played in the trailer. We slept in the trailer but not very well so in the middle of the night I dragged them in the house and put them in my bed. Then Papa and I slept out in the chairs. The things we do for gk's! Musical beds we call it.

Sunday night Lauren stayed but not Maddie. Slept better and had awesome dreams with my mom and dad.  I remember mom and I laughing in it. We did that alot. I miss her with all my heart.  And my dad.  I thank God for the dream He gave me. I am afraid I will forget them. I have been getting so forgetful.  The older I get the harder it is to remember things.  That is why I am thankful for pictures.

I don't have too much to write about so I am going to close for now. It's been my pleasure.  Good day!

Permits, ball, and Memorial Day!

As much as I miss when the kids were younger and we would go swimming and playing wiffle ball, and I miss them as teens, and I miss when I babysat grandkids and even had the girls who were like twins.....I feel that these are the happiest days of my life.  Papa and I were talking today out on the porch swing how happy we are with our lives right now. We love each other and love being together. We love our home, family, and pets.  Of course I miss my mom and dad and Lanny's ma and so many people. But part of it is the realization it is life. I mean, my days are even numbered. But instead of waiting for that time, I will live and love the life I have to the fullest....how I want to live it. Not how anyone else wants me to. I am happy.

I've been thinking about these babies. They are growing up so fast! Andrew has had his license and is 17 with a car. Parker, Jordy and Dylan all have their permits and they will be driving before the end of the year! So hard to believe. I am so excited for them.  Of course, I also pray God's protection over them!

Our cat is so funny. He is an amazing cat.  I am so glad we kept him. He loves it in the back yard!  He loves papa. He follows him everywhere.  Whatever he is doing the cat has to help.  Here papa is going through paperwork and is getting help. lol

That night we went to Lauren's game and it was pouring. Finally they called the game but everyone was soaked! Except Papa and I. We stayed in the van. There is #9 Lauren!!!!

And the other #9 on a different team, Maddie played a game this week too! It's weird how they both got the same number and it wasn't even planned!

And Riley had a game on Monday! She's not #9 though.

And my grandson, Joshua made the paper!  I love it!

I took lunch to Lauren's school for the last time this year.  We took a picture for Annika.  I hope she likes the goofy pictures.

This morning that darned cat brought in a little mole.  It was dead but he kept batting it around. Of course, Papa wasn't home so I had to bring it back outside. Yuk. Glad it had passed already.

We're going to paint the kitchen. Just need to decide what color.  hmmmm, any ideas?

Well, the roast is done so it is time to eat dinner. Hope you have a great weekend. Over half my kids are camping together. Hope they have fun and it doesn't rain on them!  Have a safe and happy Memorial Weekend!

Food and games and sadness!

3. Fudge Lovers Cream Cheese Cake

4. Apple Fritter

5. Brookies

6. Butterfinger Cake

7. Cherry Swirl Coffee Cake

8. Ivar's Clam Chowder

9. Peanut Butter Fudge Bars

10. Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken

Don't those look yummy?  Next week (if I remember) I will post 10 recipe's I have tried and what I think of them.  I bet you can't wait!!!!

So, last night we went to Riley's game. It was fun. A little bit cool and windy. But it is always fun to sit with Tara and Jo and watch the game.  Riley is such a little super star!  They play a little different but it is still fun to watch. I just have to get used to it. lol!

The big news yesterday was the tornado's. We have family in Oklahoma. Lanny's stepdad lives on the right star of Oklahoma with Lanny's brother Michael.
Our nephew Jeremy and his wife and kids live south of Oklahoma City where the other star is.  And the southern star is where Lanny's mom lived...now it is where his sister, Rita and her husband have a home, and niece Becky with her husband and boys live.

Today they are all safe and we are praising God. It was a close and scary time for everyone. We were praying hard up here. They had nasty rain and wind storms.  Yesterday and today the storms went through Dallas area (which is about 90 miles south of Oklahoma heading down hwy 35) up to the right of the state. The town of Moore really needs the prayer. They got leveled by an F5 tornado....the worst kind. It was huge and lasted 45 minutes. Took the whole town with it and they still aren't sure how many lives.  Keep praying.

Need to get ready to go to Lauren's game tonight. Then Maddie has one on Thursday. All depending on weather.  I hope you have a great night!
God Bless!

The pain of surgery, the agony of Viking Fest.

I really don't have much to blog about during the week and that is why I don't. But it is Sunday and I better catch up.

Let's see.  Our daughter, Heather had surgery on Wednesday. They burned out the inside of her uterus. ouch. So she should be doing alot better now.  And our son-in-law, Brad, had shoulder surgery on the same day!  Heather is already feeling pretty good but Brad's recovery is going to take quite a bit longer. Months. And he isn't one to sit around...so he needs prayer.

On Thursday Heather found out she got the job at the local hospital.  She starts tomorrow. That is exciting news!

Friday and Saturday were really nothing days. Didn't do much of anything.  So we stayed out of trouble.  That was good.

Maddie and Lauren came over and spent the night Saturday.  They spent a lot of time in the neighbors front yard playing with Gregory and Cameron. They had a lot of fun for a couple hours. Then they wanted to sleep in the trailer. So I got to sleep in the trailer.
Lauren trying to read.

Maddie surrounded in pillows!

We didn't get to bed until almost 11 and then I had to wake them up at 7. An hour or so later they came in and showered and had breakfast. Then we went to the carnival. What a nightmare.  I was miserable.  It was raining when we got there...

Then it was $30 per girl for wrist bands for the rides. Then there were only 3 adult rides working....the rest were for little kids (like cars going in a circle). Maddie didn't want to do the zipper (can't blame her), they did the gravatron several times...

and then the Octopus. Maddie only did it once and that was enough for her.
Maddie couldn't wait to get off it! She almost ran Lauren over!

Second time

Maddie was excited to go with Lauren on the ride!
Third time with Ella
Ella wasn't the only one we saw from school! There was also the twins...Matheas and Gabriel, Eion, Sophia, Jake, and Jimmy! It was great seeing so many and getting hugs!!!!  Love and miss my school kids so much!
Her last ride was with a boy she didn't know. She was done after that!
They also went on the house thingy and got lost before they even really got into it! Here you can see them trying to find their way. haha!

fun.
My back was killing me!  Papa's legs were hurting. There were no benches anywhere!!!! So we were pretty uncomfortable. We stayed 2 1/2 hours. The girls were bored at first but they had fun later.  There was no Merry-go-round, no Scrambler, and some favorite rides were not there.

Having fun on the bumper cars!

Maddie won a fish.
That is a nice note to end on.....lol!  Have a great week everyone! God bless!
