A week past so yappity yap!

It's been a week.  There's been a reason. I was sick with a stomach virus. Came down with it Tuesday while grocery shopping. Maddie and Lauren were with me and it hit me hard and fast. I stopped and got home after overspending. Girls brought in the groceries and helped me put them away. So grateful.  I was shaking, chills, sweat, achy hands and neck. My head was splitting (yes, it felt literal). Then the body started washing out the toxins. I rarely vomit so it wasn't that. I don't want to get graphic, but every symptom is now gone except that one. ugh!  Papa went and finished getting the groceries.

Maddie and Lauren had spent the night with us on Monday. It was so nice!!!!

They love to be together. They like to play out in the trailer with their dolls and pretend it is their apartment. I wish I had one of those to play in when I was a kid instead of the carport roof. lol! They clean it up when they are done. They are good girls. Here they were looking at a teen girl magazine.
I have a video of them 7 years ago today with Riley.  They have grown up so much!!!!
I love this video. Watch your volume. The have a scream alright!

I woke up feeling really down.  Sometimes you can wake up from dreaming and just be depressed. So I took my computer outside. It didn't really help. Turning my computer on didn't help. Like I stated in my facebook, I am tired of this country that I love. I am just tired of everything being so backwards and things that are acceptable weren't before and people don't forgive and priorities are so messed up.  But a friend of mine came up with an answer and I have to agree so I made this!
We need an old country boy with common sense to help us with this country. He is a conservative, he has known Jesus Christ as his Lord since he was 7 years old and leads a Bible Study group for over 100 homeless men every Tuesday. He has strong standards without legalism, loves his country and family...but most of all God. We need him.

Most of all we need this:

What a blessing that song is to me! Most of all people in our country need the Lord. I hope you watch it and really hear the words.

Papa has had a good birthday week! He got a couple things he needed, too.  First, Ryan and his family bought him a leather recliner!  It is really nice and papa absolutely loves it!!!!  Ryan has one and Papa really liked it. So he got one too, even though Lauren says Papa's is better. haha!  He was so happy! Sleeps great in it too!
I don't think he believed it when he saw it! lol

Now he does!!!!!
Then he bought a new lawnmower after some research. Here he is using one arm. Show-off. He'd been given money from the kids for a recliner quite awhile ago but never got one...so he has a lawnmower instead!  He is happy! Mow and rest! What more does he need?
Such an awesome family!  Thank you so much for your generosity.  Papa REALLY appreciates it big time.

And don't forget this cute little part of our family!!!! I am so happy that papa reminded me once we get an animal there is no bailing on it....no giving up on it. Because this is the coolest cat and I love him so much! Here he is on the picnic table in a box watching Lauren and I play Speed.  We are addicted. Well, mostly her! She is killing me at it! We have played 70 games! I have won 31. She has won 36 and we tied the other 3.

Papa hasn't burned his old chair yet. He can't right now. He kind of enjoys it out here on the back deck. lol!  Amanda came out on the deck yesterday and couldn't believe it. Kitkat kind of likes it outside too. lol!  He really does love his new one more. This one he is just enjoying with the sunshine, etc.  I know, looks pretty ghetto.

Speaking of ghetto....I saw this and I laughed SO HARD!!!! Hope I am not being a racist.  It is no race here....could be anyone. Gotta be very PC now.

One thing I did see that some may think is ghetto but I thought it would be pretty cool in the right room is this!

One thing I don't think is cool and it is one of the most frustrating things about Facebook to me is the language. I hate the F-word more than any other and people use it like it is nothing. My parents were no saints and said an s-word once in a while, but I never, ever heard this word come out of their mouths. We were raised guys didn't use it in front of girls and girls just didn't use it. But I guess i am the only one who remembers this in our family.  I taught my kids not to use it and thankfully they still don't use it around me. Lanny never says it. I absolutely hate that word. Do you think I dislike it? lol!  I am sure I just offended everyone I know with this rant. Oh well, it is how I feel and I don't understand the need in using it all the time. Not when speaking and not on facebook.  People do what they want though, right. Like the saying goes "Do you kiss your mama with that mouth?"  Or it should be "Do you kiss your babies with that mouth?"  I am done.

I am back out here on the deck and it is almost 80. Papa put up the pool, however there is no one to play in it.  Looks inviting.  I keep waiting for the cat to take a dip. lol! I even put a video camera on him for a while but he is too clever.

Just found out I have two girls coming over to play in my pool!  I am so happy! Here is the weather forecast this week in our area...perfect :

I listened to some Christian music and some Max Lucado today and am feeling better about life already!  God is good!

Our prayers trigger the actions of Heaven. (Max Lucado)

Will you still need me, when I'm 64?

Today is the day. My sweetie turns 64 today.  Today he can do whatever he wants and he wants to just relax. Which is good.  Yesterday he worked so hard loading Don & Lois's boxes and furniture into the U-Haul. It was just him and Don for the first couple hours.
Loading boxes first.

Boxes done. Don knew exactly where he wanted them!

Everything went in like puzzle pieces.

Then Kevon and Andrew came and helped with the rest. That's all the help we could rustle up so papa was tired last night. Andrew started his new job and just got off work so he was tired and his allergies were soooo bad. He started a second job at the kennel/grooming place and we are starting to wonder if he is allergic to dogs because it gets worse around dogs. Even his own dogs. Plus he already has full blown allergies to grasses and trees. Poor guy. He seemed so sick when he got there but Aunt Lois had pizza and cold pop for him. That helped. Not his allergies but he was hungry. lol! And Kevon was so busy getting things done, yet he still came over there for a couple hours and poured sweat. Awesome guys.
My favorite picture taken of Andrew and Uncle Kevon in 2008...5 years ago.
I thought Papa would be more sore today but he's not. Don & Lois should be in Yakima pretty soon. They took off early this morning.  I am sure Don is hurting. He has such a disabled back and yesterday the move was stressing me out.
This is their 3rd move in 3 year!
Move to Kingston 9-25-10

11-3-12 Moving next door.
And then yesterday was the 3rd....they are heading back to the East side of the state again. Back to city life. My sis...I love you!

Lauren and I went in the morning before the move to find David. No luck but I did take her to see where we used to live and the pool! It is the first house we ever bought back in the 80's!!!! I wish we still had this house!

Last night we had a bbq with Andrew and Lauren. It was nice. This picture shows how KitKat tells Lauren to be quiet or stop kissing. lol

Andrew and Lauren playing. He was trying to tie her hands. It was fun for awhile.

Thinking about their next move....

Cat to the rescue!

And the fun ends. Andrew has a bat and a scowl. Lauren has that look on your face. Watch out Andrew!!!

Later we watched some Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Still such a funny show!!!!!

So...what do you want for your birthday, Papa? To relax!!! So that is what we are letting him do. He is asleep in his chair. Lauren is exercising in the den. I am blogging. Quiet day. Just what he wanted. Now to figure out dinner. I wish someone would take him out like they do me. That would be cool. I will find something he likes.

I guess I am done until Tuesday!  If you have any idea's for a top 10 list...let me know.  Have a great and relaxing day!  And may God bless you!

Rain, television, and beans on Thursday!

Happy Thursday! Today rained and rained and rained. It is still raining. I watered the indoor plants and cleaned up and took care of the outdoor plants. Didn't need to water them, for sure.   I also swapped places with my and Lanny's chairs. It feels weird to have my chair over here now....but I like it! He had this spot since we moved here and now it is mine!!!! I have a little lamp and shelves and stuff. It is perfect for me. Cleaned papa's den too. That is where he watches TV most of the time. He seems to be content in there. Whatever. I like House Hunters, Property Brothers, cooking challenges, reality shows, Animal Planet, competitions, game shows, etc...  Papa likes drama, mystery (things like the Mentalist, CSI, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, Person of Interest, and westerns.) So we usually watch TV in different rooms. We can still talk...we are not that far away from each other.  Of course, you can always hear one another anywhere in our home. It isn't very big.  But I like it.

Made Navy beans and ham for dinner.  Papa and I both love it! It was one of my dad's favorite dinners and it is perfect for a rainy day! It's so easy with beans, water, onions, ham, carrots (celery if you want) and pepper....boil it for an hour or two. Num. With homemade bread it is the bomb! (That doesn't sound like me.)

So far the week has been good.  Spent some time with Lauren. She loves to play games...any games. Board games, card games, computer games, you name it. And she really loves to beat me. lol!

I liked how the sun shines on the parents in the morning. It is like they are smiling on me and I wanted to share it with you.

Monday was the last day of school for Lauren, Andrew, Maddie and Dylan. I went to Lauren's school and watched an assembly for 2 hours.  She performed a Native American Lullaby.
Most of the time I sat in back like this....
I wasn't planning on going...but Lauren talked me into it. Papa sat out in the van the whole time! lol!  I was bored. There were  alot of awards, presentations, and stuff.  I did figure out that my head looked like it was on Eeyore! That was a cool thing that kept me busy for awhile! ha ha! That sweatshirt was so hot! Like I said, I wasn't planning on going. I sat back by the open door.

After the assembly I got a picture of Lauren with Mrs. Rova, her teacher. She loves her.

One thing that is kind of amazing is that Andrew is now a Senior!!! I have a hard time wrapping my mind around it. He was just a baby!!!! His mom made this comparison picture and when I saw it I cried!!!! Touched my heart.

Jordy moved up to high school this year. At her school you have to be a Sophomore to be in the high school. Dylan and Parker are now sophomore's, too. Riley is going into 5th grade...same as Maddie and Lauren!!!!

Patrick is now 8th grade, Josh is in 3rd and Jared in 2nd! Hard to believe how fast my grandbabies are growing up!!!!

Yesterday was my sisters birthday!  I don't see her but I called her and left my singing message and we got to talk later. I posted some pictures to show you she hasn't changed at all. Still my beautiful little sister. Love you Libby!!!!!

God bless you and yours,

My Top Ten Tuesday! Favorite Singers will surprise you!

I decided not to do the top ten worse smells. I decided to do my top ten singers of all time.  This is going to be a tough list because there are so many!

1. Paul McCartney. Duh!  I love his voice. It is perfect. And he is easy to look at when he sings too! Plus today is his birthday!!!!  He is 71! And I am going to see him for the first time in my life next month! I hope he doesn't get obsessed with me...I am married.

2. Jael Johnson. I love her voice and could listen to her for hours. She is beautiful inside and out and writes her own music. This one is a song she wrote for Andrew (my grandson) back in February. Since she moved back to Montana, I miss her so much.

3. Jim Reeves is someone most of you may not have heard of...Gentleman Jim. He had a great voice and I grew up with the voices of old country. This man is still one of my favorites.

4. Carrie Underwood, without a doubt, is the American Idol. She not only has an amazing voice but is an amazing role model. Just a down home American girl. I love her... and I love this song. Best performance ever.

5. Johnny Cash!  His voice is not perfect but it is original.  It brings back the best memories ever and I know almost every song by heart. Mama LOVED this man! This is one song he sings with his wife that is fun and I love!!! Love the end of this video!

6.  Whitney Houston.  Who can have a list of their favorite singers and not have her?  Her voice was amazing to say the least. What a troubled soul. May she find perfect rest and comfort now.  They played this song at her funeral. It makes me cry to listen to it. It is like she is singing to her daughter. Great song written by Dolly Parton.

7. Surprise? Andy Williams. I have always loved him. Any song he sings has such a smoothness about it.  I love him. I love Moon River, theme from Love Story, Happy Heart, Born Free...but this song is from one of my favorite movies ever...Romeo and Juliet!

8. Adele. Another unique voice that I love.  She is so sweet and original. I love so many of her songs but this one touches me most. Break ups and regrets. Most of us have been through it. It really reminds me of a certain couple that broke my heart when they called it quits.  So the song has made me cry.

9.  Kelly Clarkson I have always thought was an incredible singer. Watching her go through American Idol I didn't think there was much competition. This isn't the best version of her singing this song (a song I love) but it is the most moving. She sang it right after she won American Idol so she was a bit emotional. Her voice is amazing!

10. Michael W Smith.  His voice is so good.  I don't know that it stands out like the others, but he writes and sings the most amazing songs! And he is handsome. This is one of my favorite videos.

This was easy and hard.  I could have put my grandchildren in here so easy because they are the best singers ever and my favorite...but I could be playing favorites there.   lol!   Doing this really blessed me!  I hope you enjoyed the video's.  If you don't have time I hope you come back and watch sometime.

I have one more video to post... not a favorite but a good one I hear every year at about this time:

Have a great summer!!!! Oh, I'll be back this week, don't you worry about that!
