Health, Cheryl and Spring stuff!

I love this bucket list for Spring ....only have one checked off so far. lol!

Today is Wednesday and I am trying to feel better.  Not sure what is wrong with me except I am fat and 57 and diabetic with high blood pressure. But other than that....not sure what is going on!!!!  I've been bouncing back and forth on this weight issue.  This morning I had an epiphany.  I sort have been blaming Papa for me not losing weight because he over feeds me.  Doesn't that sound stupid?  Like he ties me in a chair and shoves food into my mouth.  I realized today I am responsible for what I put in my mouth....no one else.  What I eat is my fault, what I drink is my fault, what I do or don't chose to do is my fault.  I can blame my husband and I can blame my health...but it isn't true.  I am the one.  After I took Lauren to school I went and bought fruit and vegetables and meat.... the things I don't usually buy at WalMart.   Except the cantaloupe I bought was so bad. Made me sad because I love it.  But I'm really watching my choices and watching my moderation. I did check into the Paleo Diet.  It is interesting and works for a lot of people.  It is basically meat, fruit, veggies, eggs.  No grain, no legumes, no dairy, potatoes, sugar, salt or no processed foods.  I just couldn't do it.  It is not something I would make into a lifestyle. Which is what I need to do. I can easily cut out sugars, salt, and legumes. But I can only cut back on grain and dairy. The only fault I have found with the diet is there are nutrients and vitamins that you won't be getting without certain foods.  If you are interested please check it out: http://thepaleodiet.com

I just got off the phone with an old friend of mine....someone I have known for about 25 years. I don't know how we lost touch but we did. It is sad, but hopefully we will be better friends now.  I realize how much I missed her and love her.  So she just lost 43 pounds by not eating meat (or cutting way back because she just didn't feel like it anymore) and cutting back on food. I'm very proud of her. Now I need to do it!!!!
I am going to start eating a banana or apple every day!
Felt icky on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and felt a bit better today.  Papa went and watched Riley pitch on Monday but I didn't make it. :(   I heard she did really good though!
Riley girl!
Tuesday night Maddie had a game on Bainbridge they won.... she got her ankle hit by the pitcher.  But she wasn't limping or anything so that is good.

I was thinking I was doing so great on the piano....and then Lauren played the wedding march ..... a 1842 music piece by Felix Mendelssohn!!!! Then she wrote it down! She has never had a piano lesson at all.... but she has such an ear for music!!!!  She is amazing and could probably play anything she put her mind too. She can play a little guitar.  Sure made me realize I am not doing as well as I thought.  I shouldn't compare myself to others. Not even a 10 year old. lol!

Well, my cat is LOVING this nice weather! He doesn't like the rain at all. But when the sun is out we take him outside and he is the happiest kitty in the world. He loves to lay in the grass, he loves to chase bugs, he loves to try to catch birds, he likes to climb the tree...he is so funny to watch.  He sleeps so well at night! lol!

Today our TV service changed. Over 100 new channels and 50 in HD, and we now have In Demand, faster Internet, etc.... and now our other TVs can all get the same channels so papa is super happy.

I hope your week is good and full of sunshine.  Thankful for my blessings!

A little rain must fall!

I thought this flower would make the day sunnier!  It has been raining this morning. And raining. But like a friend says.....it washes some of the pollen away.Which is good when you have allergies. I guess you have to have a little rain to appreciate the sunshine!

Papa is sleeping in the den with the animals. I am watching Tabatha Takes Over. It is going to be a lazy day. Except I will be riding my bike, playing my piano, an I may work on my book blog today.  I am hoping papa takes a break today.

He works so hard around here.  Yesterday he re-potted a lot of plants.....indoor and outdoor!  He was a busy bugger.  Last night I went to Lauren's game while Papa went to Riley's.  They were both really good games. Both girls won their games and played well! Talked to Heather and her kids had a good day too...Joshua and Jared won their first game!  And Patrick had his track meet and got first place in the discus! He threw it 72 feet!  Not bad!

The day before I got sick. I don't know what happened. I cleaned house and I started getting dizzy and it kept happening. I got hot. I couldn't close my eyes because I would get dizzy.  I checked my blood pressure first and it was 146/82 which was good.  So I checked my blood sugar which was 103 and it is pretty good. Nothing to make me feel like I was!  Karla said it was probably the flu. I missed Aly's game and I went to bed early and slept 10 hours. Was fine by the morning.  Quick whatever it was.

So our cat keeps climbing. I think he has gotten as high as he can in our house. Silly cat.  He sure loves papa!  Here are some pics from the week....cat and games! Enjoy!

Well....I think I will go take a nap. Andrew woke me up this morning calling and I am tired. Aly is suppose to have a game tonight but I don't know if she will because of the rain. And Jordy has an indoor soccer game tonight at 7! There are several games tomorrow too. Have a great rest of the day and a really nice weekend!

Family

What a long day this has been!  It is Tuesday.  My day started off kind of cruddy.  Sometimes some of my family members and I don't see eye to eye.  This morning was one of those times.  Makes me upset.  I have some major issues with my emotions sometimes and with assuming things. Today was tough but I believe we have got some things resolved.  Which is wonderful.  I just want kind and loving relationships with these people I adore!  Sometimes it is hard....but family is forever.

This afternoon I went out and got on the exercise bike and watched the cat play outside. He climbed up in the tree and couldn't get down.  He eventually did but he had to learn.  Papa almost got the ladder.  It has been so sunny today and a bit chilly. But a great day to walk or ride my bike!  And a great day for a softball game!  Which is what we are doing tonight!  Maddie has a game and I think it will stay dry tonight.  Hope it is warm.  Probably sit out in the outfield again.  It is nice out there. Those bleachers freeze my bottom and I can't see to get it warm again! lol!

Well, I have been doing pretty good at the piano.  I will get this and play a Christmas song this year!  Do you think everyone will stand around my keyboard and sing carols with me?

I don't either....but it was a nice thought.  They can hear me play and sing! haha! That might change their mind.
I also wrote my first story yesterday.  Kind of stinks.  Not that great but it is my first time!  I started a web site where parents can take their laptop and read to their kids a nightie night story.  Hopefully they always have a moral and end on a happy note. The link is http://bedtimestorieswiththekiddos.blogspot.com/ and is also linked to the left on my blog here. You can check it out if you'd like. At least I am trying!

Did some cleaning today. Went through my shoe bins. Getting rid of some and I found a lot of my flip flops! I can tell it is spring time! Papa has been sitting outside much more.... sometimes on the front porch with just Toby and sometimes on the back porch with the cat. He just loves sitting outside. Of course, so far this week he has washed both vehicles inside and outside, mowed the front and back yard, cut down some trees and bushes, and puttered in the garage for hours.  He keeps himself very busy. Plus he walks Toby every day!

Guess I am going to watch Revolution with Papa.  Keep all the families and people who have been impacted and hurt by the terrible attack in Boston.  Oops I guess we aren't watching it.  It was pre-empted because of the tragedy. Ok then. We are watching Hawaii Five-0 instead. Then going to the ball game. Have a blessed night!

Birthday's every where!!!!!

I cannot even begin to describe what a wonderful birthday I had! Really!  It isn't that I did anything huge....just the small things where I got to see my family and to hear from them.  Those are what count the most.

I woke up Saturday morning to a big surprise!!!

Andrew had stopped by after we went to bed and left these on the table!  What a sweet boy! Touched my heart.
Then I picked up Kevon and we went to the casino for breakfast. They have buffet breakfasts with omelets, eggs benedict, eggs anyway you want, scrambled eggs, chicken fried steak, gravy, hash browns  fried potatoes, biscuits, crepes, waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, fruit, veggies, salads, desserts, mashed potatoes & gravy, prime rib and ham. I'm sure there are a few things I have forgotten. I tried fried zucchini because it was there and it was nasty!!! We got so full we both felt sick! lol!  We decided we needed naps so I dropped him off and came home and took a 4 hour nap!!!! I couldn't believe I slept that long.  He was the tired one!  Called him before his show and he slept off and on all day.  I didn't go to the show.  Just talked to him and the show went good. So all is well.
Papa and I went to watch Maddie play ball.  Brad, Tara, Riley and Jo came too. It was very cold and then it was very cold AND wet.  We had a downpour! I didn't think they were ever going to call the game! I gave Maddie a blanket in the dug out to help her. Pour baby girl.  Papa, Dylan, Karla, Tara and Jo stayed in the vehicles the whole game. Can't blame them.  Here are some pictures....
Riley watching Maddie play!

The parents and umbrella's. Real Washingtonians don't use umbrellas. These must be imports! lol

Maddie is getting wet!!!! But she is still smiling!

Maddie up to bat. That is not fog....it is rain!!!

Field is getting muddy....Maddie still up.

Maddie stealing to home....

She didn't quite make it....but she tried!
Joel getting soaked playing 3rd base coach.
Came home and warmed up! Had teriyaki for dinner.

This morning was so sunny and pretty we went out on the back deck and papa brought me a couple of bins of clothes I had stored in there.  I seperated them into bags.... one to wash and keep (summer clothes), one for my sister, one for ARC or Goodwill, one for trash.  Toby and Kit Kat loved our time out there.

Our baby boy is so beautiful!

He can't find a way out....yet.

But he DID figure out how to climb tree's today. oh, oh!
We took the clothes over to Lois and went over to wish her hubby a very happy birthday today!!!! We had a really nice visit with them!! Happy birthday Don!
Today is also Lanny's sisters birthday....Happy birthday Rita!!!!
Happy birthday to my friend Renae, Donna, Brenda, Ginger, and it was Don Kain's birthday and it is Loretta Lynn's birthday! Busy day!

Watching the Mariner's now and everyone else is napping. (Papa, Toby, and Kitkat).  I may take one.  Just need to wake up after an hour! lol!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!! God's blessings on you all!
