spots, storms, snobs, Silverdale, and sleeping

Decided to get rid of the cat the other day.  But  papa has been kind of sore at me since then....making snide little comments. Yes, I said snide. He loves that kitty. He will put his arm down and Kitkat will run to him and wrap his arms and legs around it....ouch. Then papa picks him up. So weird. They play alot together and the kitty sure loves him a lot too!!!  whatever.  So he stays. Papa loves it that he is getting spots on his back. He is cute.  He has been playing all morning without a break. Hopefully he will sleep about 8 hours!

Watching the news on the hurricane coming in.  Suppose to hit in a few hours. My brother and his family live in Virginia. I am thankful they are not on the coast. Praying for all those people who are!!!! They still are in a state of emergency and it really hasn't hit yet.

Been a busy weekend. I am not even sure when it started! It seemed like most of the week was the weekend. Friday we went to Central Market and had biscuits and gravy. It was me, Andrew, Lauren and Annika....we met Nell and Jael....and Karla dropped off Dylan and Maddie.  It was a bit crazy and hectic with everyone. Then all 6 of the kids got in my van and we went to my house. Kit kat stayed crazy. Maddie freaked out. It was a little crazy.  That is the only word I can use. Jael must think we are absolutely insane. I think Annika knew it!

It is so hard to concentrate on this with Fox news on about Hurricane Sandy. I do want to post a pic of Lauren and her guitar....her Uncle Kevon is teaching her to play.  She is doing good....

Took kids home....Maddie and Dylan were going to spend the night....but Maddie didn't want to without Lauren and couldn't. So Karla came and got the kids.  Made me sad. A huge part of it was the cat.

Saturday afternoon Lauren came and spent the night. We didn't do much. She watched Netflix and we watched iCarly and went to bed. She slept with me and we locked the cat out for Papa to deal with. lol. Toby slept with us.

Sunday morning we picked up Maddie and went to Bayside church.  Papa stayed home to watch the Seahawks lose. I took the kids to their class....and went up to the sanctuary.  Sad no one said hi to me except the lady giving me the bulletin. Even people who knew me. Weird......and it was so balmy and hot in there. I left during music and went downstairs to cool off. It was nicer to be alone and read a book.  I was sad though. Our former Pastor Barry said today maybe the Lord is showing me we need to commute. lol.
The girls got out and we went to McDonald's for lunch. Then I took Lauren home for a birthday party. Maddie and I went to Silverdale to Ross's (bought nothing), then to Barnes & Noble at the Mall. Got Maddie a Bible she wanted. Then to Claire's where she got glasses. Left the mall and went to the Dollar store and I got some water bottles and stuff. Maddie didn't want anything. She thought we were going to Walmart and was upset we weren't. I wasn't feeling well at all.  Feverish all day, sweaty, bad headache, sore throat and earache. I needed to go home.  It was nice spending time with Maddie though. She's a good girl.

When Joel got his deer and cut his finger, Maddie was concerned that he keep it covered up when he was cleaning the deer. I thought that was really intelligent of her to remember about cleanliness of wounds and stuff. Then she said in a whisper "if deer blood mixes with his blood, he could get pregnant with deer babies." Oh, um. So I guess it's about time to have the talk about where babies come from, because that sure isn't it.

Well.....this morning was weird. Power went out in parts of Kingston, Port Gamble and part of Poulsbo.  Tree went down.  Just made life weird ...but was good in a way because I got to take Andrew to school and we had a great time talking.  I love spending time with my grand kids!!!!

Well.....I am going to try to nap now.  Sounds like a plan....everyone else is! Til later!!!!!

Today is Thursday?

It is Thursday.  It took me a minute to think about that!!!!  This has been a weird week because of school conferences.  Lauren didn't have school on Wednesday so she spent the night on Tuesday....then I took her to Walmart in the morning to meet her best friend....Annika.  She went with her family and spent the day.  So papa and I did our grocery shopping....our monthly shopping trip.  I am getting used to it now.  I am getting it figured out.  We certainly aren't starving...it hasn't been easy to buy for a month. But now it is kind of nice. I used to shop every two weeks.

Yesterday I cleaned house. At least the living room and toy room is clean again. Worked on papa's puzzle.  He loves doing jigsaw puzzles now!  Very relaxing for him. It is set up in the den and he can watch the news while doing it.

Toby is not happy.  The kitty is getting bigger and driving Toby nuts.  The cat loves Toby! He is looking for him now and crying. lol! (Toby is outside). Not sure what to do. Toby is itching himself raw....no it's not fleas. We've checked both animals thoroughly. I don't know if it could be stress (haven't read anything about it), the time of year, or allergic to something like the cat! lol!  We are wondering if his skin is dry so we are giving him oil every morning with his food. We give him pumpkin in the evening for his rear end, and last night  we tried spraying him and then wiping him down with a mixture of cider vinegar and water. Oh, he didn't like that at all!!!! So we stopped that treatment. We may have to take him to the vet. I hate spending money on the vet if we can help him at home. They will give him prednisone which isn't good for him. But neither is itching. We'll see by tomorrow if he needs to go.

The kitten is only 3 months old and turning into a cat! Acting like a wild thing. But getting bigger every day! We really love this critter though.  Papa puts his arm down and the cat runs to it and jumps wrapping his arms and legs around papas arm and then papa picks him up.

Bread, bugging, bedroom and breakfasts!!!! What a weekend

It is Monday!  Not that I am thrilled about Monday's.  I am trying to figure out this computer Google crap.  Lost what I had and now trying to figure out a new way.

I just got a bread recipe that is suppose to be so super easy ....I haven't tried it yet but wanted to share in case someone beats me to it they can let us know how it is!

. Preheat oven to 375, grease loaf pan... Mix 3 cups SIFTED self rising flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 12oz room temp beer. Dont over mix. Pour into loaf pan, pour about 4 tbl spoons melted butter over top amd sprinkle with more sugar. Bake about 1 hour or until knife comes out clean.. cool, slice and eat. I like to spread a little softened butter on my slice when it is still warm... U can add more sugar to the recipe if u want... I have made it 3C flour, 2C sugar, 1 beer... This way is reallllllly sweet. Make sure ur flour is sifted, so that you have a heavy bread that rises and not a brick... It is soooooo good..

Had a good weekend! Friday Lauren and Maddie spent the night.  I had cleaned the toyroom for them to play in where the animal couldn't terrorize them.  Lauren is ok with the kitty....buy Maddie gets a little nervous the cat will hurt her.  Which he could because he is wild as moose milk! Trying to train him not to attack our feet when we walk....or try to climb up our leg....or our back.  It sucks. I love him like crazy (which I must have been for getting a kitten!) and he sleeps really great at night and makes us laugh. Got a new lazer pointer and he loves it. So does papa.
Anyway...even got papa to take off the closet doors and now the girls slept in there! The closet freaked them out so they wouldn't sleep in there before. So they slept good in there without a cat to bug them. :D

I went and picked up Andrew and we met Nell and Jael at Walmart. I really like Nell.  We have similar personalities and had a great time. I drove to The Red Apple Diner and it was a great breakfast! Loved it!

After breakfast we went to Starbucks...but it was too cold. So we went to Maxx something...it is some health food place and the kids got smoothies. They got these sample green smoothies.... which got spilled all over Jael. Gross. We still don't know who did it. We walked around Walmart. That was fun! But the day tired me out!  I fell asleep at 6:30. Woke up at 4 a.m. with such a back ache.

Sunday Dylan called and I did a repeat breakfast with Dylan and Maddie. We had a nice drive.  Then we went to PetSmart, Big 5 and Office Depot. My back really got to hurt.   We went to Dollar store too. I love that store!!!!

My handsome grandson Parker got his hair cut. He looks so great! Older! I love this boy so much!!!!

Well....this one will be short.  I need to go vote. Papa is waiting patiently. :D

Happy Birthday Heather Lynn!

Today is a very special day to post!!!! Our daughter's birthday! I don't even keep track of their ages anymore unless I stop and count. So is she really 36? OMGOSH! There is no way. I was just 36!!!! 
Getting back to Heather..........I love that girl so much. She is a bit like me. Some say we look alike! lol! She is funny, sensitive, kind, friendly, always willing to help and always there for support!  She is my encourager. When I am down she is there to lift me up. She is kind, forgiving, loving and truly a gift from God! She's a good mom and wife and daughter and she touches everyone's lives with joy, love, laughter and happiness! Thank you, God, for this special person you created for not only Your pleasure...but every life she touches! She is beautiful inside and out! And I adore her!  Here are some pictures.....

Well..... last night I babysat!  I went to someone's house and did it! Felt like a teenager again. Wait....I didn't do that often as a teen. I was too busy. Anyway, I went and watched Niko and Benji while their parents went to Whiskey Creek. By the way....they said it wasn't changed that much. It was nice to see the boys again. Lots of hugs! It was pouring rain and the Seahawks lost to SF 49ers. So that was a bummer....but papa had dinner ready when I got home so that was nice. And I got paid!

Making friends and dinner with Maddie!

 It is only Tuesday and I am posting already. I really would like to get into writing more. I don't have an excuse for being so slack.  Well...maybe I do. Facebook. Before Facebook I posted everyday!  I spend WAY too much time on my computer. I asked papa the other day and he said "YOU? Spend too much time on the computer? You're not on it when you are sleeping."  Funny.

So Sunday I have to say....the Seahawks rocked it!  I wasn't sure they were going to pull it off.  Again....the last few minutes! I do love the Seahawks. I get frustrated but I've been with the team from day one. Papa didn't think they would pull it off. I reminded him about the week before...he reminded me about Tom Brady..... I reminded him about the #1 Defense! And we did it!!!!! Lanny I call "ye of little faith". They lay again Thursday night against the 49ers (who had a rough Sunday and will come out fighting). We don't get that channel!!!! Oh no!!!! I wonder if we can get it online?

Yesterday after Lauren got on the bus I went down to Kingston and met Nell Johnson. We chatted a bit on Facebook on Sunday and found out we had a lot in common. We are both close to the same age, both love the Lord with all our hearts, and have Andrew and Jael in common. She is Jael's mom. That is what drew us together... the homecoming dance pictures of the kids.

 So we had coffee for a couple hours! It was great. We have so much to talk about and we only touched the tip!!!  We want to get together once a week for coffee now.  We may have breakfast on Saturday too. I am thinking Big Apple Diner....thought about Oak Table in Kingston but it is a bit expensive for breakfast. I just checked out their menu. I am just excited to have found a new friend. I've lost so many friends through just drifting apart. Kind of sad. No, really sad.

Yesterday afternoon I picked up Maddie after school and we went to Stella's for dinner. I like that place....Maddie picked it. She has plain spaghetti with Parmesan cheese. She loved it and ate almost all of it. We talked a lot about school and how she was doing.  Proud of her!  And we talked about that cat!!!! I don't know when she'll come back to the house with a crazy and wild kitten living there. She loves animals but not when they jump on her or hurt her. And KitKat has NO MANNERS. I am figuring out he responds when I snap my fingers.

I am trying hard to lose weight.  A few days I walked which I am proud of. Need to exercise more.

I just need to take things one day at a time. I can do this. When I mess up.... i start over on the next meal.  I just need to get some exercise in.

Homecoming Dance Pic's I promised.

Well....it sounds like Andrew and Jael had a wonderful time at the homecoming dance last night.  That's about all I got. Guys start young not giving much detail. I do know they looked beautiful.  Their friend Hannah came and took pictures of them. She is very good!  It was nice to be able to meet both girls. And of course, my grandson looked incredibly handsome!!!  Here are the pictures....

so....what's up?

Latest on our family....not much!  Whihch means good news!

Last Thursday Dylan got a concussion.  He was in the weight room and hit a bar....as close as I understand.  Quite a bump. Poor guy.
Lauren was home most of the week with pink eye. She is better now.  No fun for her.
Patrick got the bad news that he is out of football for the rest of the season because of his concussion last week. It broke his heart!!!
Josh and Jared play flag football.... Joshua got another touchdown today! Cool!
Riley is in a tournament today for soccer and won both games so far!  Her team has been together for a long time and are pretty awesome.
Tonight Andrew is going to the Homecoming Dance with a girl names Jael Johnson.  She is very pretty. She is an aspiring singer....here is her link.

I will meet her in about a half hour.  They stopped by last night for us to meet her but we were in bed.  Not a great time to meet. We went to bed early last night.  More important I get to see my handsome grandson all dressed up.  He had such a rotten day yesterday.  His fish died, he got a cold sore, and some other stuff. I am praying he has a wonderful night tonight. I will post a couple pictures. :D

That is about all I know on grandkids.  Talked to Kevon for over an hour today on the phone. It was awesome. We talked about everything. He sounds so happy and at peace right now.  That makes me happy!!!!

The cat is fine.  A pain. But cuddly and cute as can be.  I am going to train this thing if it kills me. I am alpha!!!! At least with him!
