Prayer is more than asking. Prayer is more than praising. Prayer is more than thanking. Prayer is more than requesting or interceding or kneeling or humbling ourselves. Prayer is expecting that God wants us there, expecting that God hears us, and expecting that God will meet us in our prayer time and do what is best for us and those we love.

last day of June!!!!

weird....i am at 4,999 visitors! next person will be the 5,000th. thought it would happen yesterday....people were having too much fun in the sun to worry about computer time. lol! Met Amanda with an allergy pill yesterday morning and Andrew went with her. Lauren and I went to CMC. She didn't want to go with the kids so she went up in the balcony with me and the music was beautiful and spectacular!!! They had the biggest flag I've ever seen across the whole front of the sanctuary...a big band and singing and playing all the patriotic songs for the 4th. Very moving....Lauren loved it! We only stayed for part of the message. Kirby Wilbur (a 570 radio talk show host....who know one but me has heard of!!!!) was speaking and I really wanted to hear him.....but it got boring so we left. We went and checked out Amanda's furniture....it is awesome. Kevon and Meghan came and helped..I went and got some lunch...Adam showed up....Meg & Amanda ran to Silverdale to get table and chairs....papa brought Sandy girl and Toby....they loved running around the back. The kids were so happy! Brought the kids back with me and they played in the pool for a long time. Even with cream they got a bit burnt. Lauren fell asleep by 7:30 and is still asleep at 6! Andrew and I stayed up and watched the rest of Jurassic Park...he laughed so hard! It is a bit corny....i think it was the 2nd one. Then we watched a little Major Payne before we decided it was bedtime. It was fun though.
Today we are going to their house to wait for the cable guys so they will have tv and a phone. It is really looking great! Well....that's it for now! Hope you enjoy the heatwave!

resist the devil

People scarcely recognize that there is an evil one nowadays, let alone overcome him! Until you have overcome the evil one, you may not have a lot of mental peace. We dispel the darkness by turning on the light. If you are plagued by tempting thoughts, bring the issue before God and seek to resolve what is keeping you from having perfect fellowship with Him. The devil isn't the primary issue--he is only taking advantage of the fact that your relationship with God is broken. James 4:7 has the right priorities: "Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." The primary issue is to submit to God. Satan knows that if he can keep our minds distracted, we won't have much of a prayer life with God. Prayer is the vital link for God's guidance. If we are going to walk with God through the darkness, we must have the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension and guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

happy birthday lester!!!!

What gorgeous weather! It is so beautiful....no complaints. We have a nice breeze here, too, so it doesn't get too hot. The kids played in the pool most of the day!!! They had so much fun. Papa had me buy a pool net the other day....which has been great! Andrew keeps the pool rid of grass and bugs. Ryan & Amanda made record time getting the rest of their stuff out of storage and buying some furniture yesterday. They were pleased but sweaty and tired. The kids are excited to see them and the house today! I want to wish Lester Bussing a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! He is one of Papa's oldest and dearest friends. May God bless and keep him and may he have many more happy and healthy bdays to come!!!! Well....not much else to say....been a great week and I feel blessed. My site will have had 5,000 visitors today! That is in 6 months! Thank you all for stopping in!

He is faithful

God's faithfulness is not proved by the absence of trouble, tension, calamity, disaster, or personal pain. Indeed, His faithfulness is seen most clearly in those times when we question His plan and feel the pain of our circumstances.
Besides Jesus himself, no one suffered as consistently for God's sake as did the apostle Paul. In 2 Corinthians 6:3-10 and 11:21-30, he catalogs the varieties of pain and hardship he experienced. God's faithfulness to Paul was not seen in the avoidance of pain but in the supply of grace needed to endure it.

The end of life is not to be happy, nor to achieve pleasure and avoid pain,
but to do the will of God, come what may. Martin Luther King, Jr.

its like a heatwave!

The kids had fun in the pool...here is Lauren going down slide!

Doesn't he look like he's up to something?
I think it has to do with his sister!!!!

Here it goes!!!!

But he lets her get him back.....

Punkin spots something...later we find the
head and feathers to that something on the
porch. Lauren freaked.

Papa is going to work! bye papa!!!!

SUMMER IS HERE! So excited! Yesterday was awesome! The kids and I met Tara and the girls at walmart and walked around. That was fun. When we got home papa had filled up the pool....so after lunch Andrew and Lauren played in it. They had fun. Lauren is so funny....she has fun dishing it out but a hard time taking it. Sound familiar to anyone out there???? It was funny watching them.....because Andrew doesn't always know when to stop so it is quite entertaining. They play really good together. They love each other so much...and it shows most of the time. Found my summer clothes and washed them. Today I am packing up winter clothes. I don't think it will snow. We decided to have a July 4th party....with a bday party for Parker! Wow....I cannot believe almost all my kids are now playing softball! (except Brad) Heather and Don are now on a coed softball team over there which starts in a few weeks. Karla's team should be starting sometime this month. Exciting times for the kids! I pray they have fun and no one gets hurt!!!! Papa's got to work this morning but will be home in the afternoon. Yeah! Hope you enjoy your Saturday....and the heat!

get over it

Hanging on to bitterness and keeping alive grudges is consuming work. It leaves little energy for blessing others, praising God, or enjoying life. The only way to get over these things is to actively love (i.e., serve them) others in ways that bless their lives. If we can't do this because it's good and the right thing to do, we do it because we know God!

happy summer!!!!

dr appointment over...

I am loving the forecast for the next few days! Are we finally getting summer? And you can't tell me it's always this late.....look at my past memory pics! Does my site seem faster since I took off the scrolling pictures and just put on the one at the top? I did it for those that say it takes awhile to open my site.

This next section is all about my physical....it you're not interested...scroll down:
Well, yesterday was my physical. It lasted 1 and 1/2 hours....mostly with doc! If you know me and doctors....I postpone and put off until I'm half dead. But this appointment is more important than you'll know. Anyway.....my weight is up, my height is down. Help, I'm shrinking! She didn't discuss my weight much except she's not hot on diet pills (and yes....I asked!). They are a short term solution to a long term problem. She was more concerned about other things, I think. My blood pressure was 144/92...so naturally she wasn't pleased about that and I am now on a new medication. My pulse was good at 74. We did the fun physical exam stuff. She was listening and thinks I have a heart mummer but not sure. We did an EKG but nothing showed up there....it looked pretty good. So she wants me to go see Johnson and have a Echocardiogram....to see if its a mummer or valve problem and because of my shortness of breath. She wants a stress test done, too, but not until they check this out first to make sure it's ok I have one! I have to come back for blood work to test my cholesterol and blood sugar. Last November my cholesterol levels were fine....but you never know now. With my family history she wants it all checked. I have to get the mammogram I am postponing. Since there is no history of cancer on either side of the family....she said I can get by with doing it every 2 years...but it's time to get started. I told her I had been holding off until they found a nice way to do it! lol! And I am now on anti-depressant meds. Very low dose to see if it helps. Will let you know. Maybe a job would help! lol! This week has been a good one for me because I've been surrounded by kids all week....but it's normally not like that. My grandkids always make me happy! I feel I have a purpose. Dr. Chun told me my kids may not need me to physically be there to physically help them anymore....but they do need me to physically be here for emotional support and love... so I better start taking care of myself! Well...there is my health...what we know.

If you skipped over this.....yesterday we got the news that Shorty's daughter Sylvia died from lung cancer Wednesday. Her dad was Lanny's step grandpa....so she was like his step aunt? She was a nice lady. We got a Christmas card from her and Dave every year. She never forgot. On a lighter note....Lauren and Andrew got to go to Auntie Karla's while I went to the doctor. They loved that. Took Maddie and Dylan with me after that to the store and then home....the long way. Nice drive. The kids played and ate and played and ate. Two of their favorite things to do at mam's. Papa's off most of the day today! Yippee! Andrew is very happy about that! He loves his papa! Have a great day today and may God continue to shine on it!

Today: Sunny and warm. Highs near 80.

Saturday: Sunny and hot. High 80s

Sunday: Sunny and hot. Highs near 90.

Monday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 80s.
