windy wet morning spring storm

Well.... I got up to see papa this morning before he left. I've been seeing these all morning... this is the one I UPDATED AS OF 7:45 AM:

TRAVEL ALERT: There is a gale warning in effect through 11 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, May 5.

The following service on the Lofall-South Point water shuttle route across the Hood Canal is canceled due to high winds and adverse weather:

4:00 a.m. Lofall
4:30 a.m. Southpoint
5:00 a.m. Lofall
5:30 a.m. Lofall and Southpoint
6:00 a.m. Lofall and Southpoint
6:30 a.m. Lofall and Southpoint
7:00 a.m. Lofall and Southpoint
7:30 a.m. Lofall and Southpoint
8:00 a.m. Lofall and Southpoint
Service delays will continue for up to an additional four hours.

The connecting transit runs are also canceled. Customers are advised to consider making alternate travel plans.

WSDOT will evaluate the situation every hour until water shuttle service can resume.


So... he is in his chair watching Fox News and I'm thinking about going back to bed. I slept soooo bad! Papa went to bed before 9... I stayed up about 15 minutes more. Then when I went to bed I picked up the book Twilight. What a mistake. I didn't shut off the light til 11. Then tried to sleep and couldn't.... slept on and off all night.
It is raining hard out... but it doesn't seem that windy because my wind chimes aren't playing much. But it must be enough to close the ferry. The alternate is driving 101 miles around.... for Kelly's information. You can drive around the canal...but it is a long windy road mostly along the water.

Yesterday nobody guessed the movie. It was Will Ferrell as Ricky Bobby in the movie Talligetty nights. Or something like that. I am really bad at names of things... just ask Amanda. She helps me with it. lol!

Spent the day being sad. I'm going to miss papa this week. He will be leaving early and getting home at almost 10. I'm sad. I can't wait til this is over. This too will pass. Well... Papa is sitting there being a Lester... talking to the tv. You can't argue with the President when he can't hear you. I guess we've all done it in our lifetime. lol!

I'll write more possibly later... and maybe not.

What's Ahead:
Wind advisories are in effect through 11am through the majority of western WA.
The Puget Sound will receive the strongest wind. Tuesday the winds will decrease to 15-25 through the afternoon with scattered showers.
Rain will increase late Tuesday night and into Wednesday, a better chance of thunderstorms expected Wednesday afternoon and locally breezy.
