So happy it is Friday!!!!

I am so late posting. That's because I started watching Don Rickles videos on You Tube. Today is his birthday.... he is 83. What a funny man. His humor has tamed down a little because it wasn't "politically correct"..... but people had a sense of humor back in the day when you made fun of everything. Those were the days. Now we're so sensitive about some things and desensitized about other. Weird world we live in. Anyway, I love Don. Also Melissa Gilbert who played "Half Pint" Laura Ingells on Little House on the Prairie is 45 years old today! How is that for making you feel old?

Today is my friend, Darlene Ryan Stark's birthday... she is my age. Met her when I first moved over in 8th grade and liked her immediately. Love her mom, Thelma! She makes the best meatballs! Love her son Shawn! He's the neatest kid... well he is a daddy himself now... not a kid. Here is a picture of our group in high school 1971. We were Sophomores.... Bobby, Shuree, Me, Dar, Julie, Deedee and Carrie in the front.A few of us just a couple years ago... Deedee, Julie, Bobby, me and Dar!
We've all been friends many years and I love Dar! Happy Birthday, Dar! You caught up with us!

Please pray for Heather. She's got the flu bug this week. Also please pray no one else in the house will be getting it! With a husband and 4 sons... things like that seem to sweep its way through. But normally mom's are last... so maybe it won't happen! Pray! Also pray for cousin Renee. She had ear surgery recently and now has an infection. Not a good thing! Please pray for rapid healing!

Well.... Papa already guessed the movie clip, sort of. He could tell me what it was about but didn't know the name... does that count? He guessed yesterdays was Jaws. I didn't notice but the name was right on the clip! Good eye, Tara!

An old friend of ours went to be with the Lord a few years ago. Her name is Ann McKay. She had a wonderful sense of humor and testimony about how God worked in her live. She had MS. I have been watching the Amazing Race host, Phil Keoghan, biking across America to raise awareness and money for this cause. I put up a link to the right if you would like to check it out or donate anything. What a wonderful thing he is doing.

I was busy yesterday. I took our heavy blanket off our bed and usually it takes me awhile to adjust... but I slept good last night. Got up after trying to sleep because I guess I wasn't tired enough. So I went into the den and read another chapter in Twilight. It's a good book.... but seems to be a bit drawn out. (I can say that because Karla is gone all day on a field trip with Dylan's class...lol!)

I also got my phone number changed. If you need it just email me at : mamshouse@cablespeed.com and I will send it to you. I don't think I'll post it. lol! Don't mind posting my email. Yesterday I emailed this simple new number of ours out to everyone and then while talking to my sis, Lolo, on the phone I noticed the last two numbers were reversed. I felt stupid!!! I had to email everyone again. Duh! Is that what they call a senior moment? Do I qualify yet or am I just turning into my mom? I took off long-distance so you'll have to call me now. I took off caller ID and call waiting.... so if you get a busy signal don't be shocked. You haven't reached Tara. lol! It is saving me almost $30 a month! I am so about saving money right now. I have to be.

I also colored my hair yesterday. The older I get the bigger ordeal it is getting to be. But it was getting really bad! Right Andrew????

I am so glad it is Friday! Papa is off all weekend. It's Mother's Day this weekend too. Don't think it will be any different than any other day... the bridge has messed things up. Meghan invited us over to dinner with her family on Saturday night but night time is kind of tough on traveling since it is such a commute. I love her family! It would be alot of fun!

Picking up steam after stormy couple of days

The project bounced back in a big way today after a couple of rough weather days.

Three tugs pulled away this afternoon with the 929-foot-long, and nearly 50-year-old, draw span assembly.

That means the "bulge" that Hood Canal Bridge drivers know so well is officially gone.

Also today, the transition spans on the west end were removed, setting the stage for tomorrow morning, when crews plan to remove the truss on the west end.

Pretty cool stuff. It is kind of fun watching it happen. Not that I am close enough to see anything. lol!

Did I tell you I hate Penny LeGate now? Every time I go to get the weather from the KIRO site... she pops up and scares the stuffing out of me! I always forget to turn down the volume! Try it.... it's really fun.

What's Ahead:
Timing couldn't be better as spring weather returns for the weekend! Highs hit 60. It only gets better Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures, into the mid 60s.
Showers return Sunday night through the middle of next week.
