Saturday....company, work, bandwagon, and Betty.....

I am so excited our old friends are coming over for the afternoon! Ron & Sharon Davison.... she's my best friend...see picture, Cal & Bev Swift, Craig & Cindy Thompson, and Dick & Mary Lane! We all went to the Nazarene Church together.... now all 5 couples go to 5 different churches! Lanny is making spaghetti and the rest are bringing side dishes! It will be so nice! I've been looking forward to this. It's one of those things where we say "We need to get together!" ..... and then it never happens. So Mary & I just set a date! Lester and Cheryl couldn't make it because they have Lester's dad's memorial service up in Sedro Wooley or somewhere up north. They'll be missed! But we'll have fun.

Yesterday was a good day. Work went good.... not for Peggy. She was verbally abused by several patients and ended up crying. Felt so bad for her because she is so strong. She got mad at herself for losing it after those series of phone calls. Couldn't blame her. People can be so nasty.

Karla called me yesterday on my way home from work.... she may be working again soon! Pray for her! Her work called and said they may have something else for her... doing the same thing...transcribing... but it would mean different hours. Still the same days off though. She really hopes it works out.... me, too! I'm praying for it!

And Ryan called.... he passed this test he needed to pass to get into the Apprentiship program! So now it is just a matter of time! That is such awesome news for his career! Congrats Ry!

Well....I'm going to get on my political bandwagon and make my first official complaint.... so if you don't want to read it skip this paragraph. My tax dollars at work. The new administration has acted to send U.S. tax dollars to fund abortion providers overseas. This is a reversal of course from the president's campaign statements that he hoped to reduce the number of abortions. Just a day after thousands of Americans came to Washington to celebrate the principle of life (sanctity of life day), President Obama has made it clear that reducing abortions is not one of his priorities. I wish we had a say about where our tax dollars went. It's very frustrating to know that the money is going to kill babies. This is what I meant in my earlier blog about the moral issues!

Stepping down. Lanny got a schedule change in 3 weeks. Not sure if it is permanent or not...hope not! It is off Monday, Tuesday and Friday! That's not even what he asked for! He asked for Sunday's off. So he's going to talk to the guy. He did give the manager, Doug, his leave for the time the bridge is down.... to have Friday-Sundays off so we can come home. He signed it! So hopefully that will work and it means a done deal! He went right to the top with that one! It's too important not to!

My sister-in-law, Betty, is still in the hospital. Retaining fluid now. I'm calling her this morning to find out what exactly is happening! Doug must be upset! I think she's up in Maryland instead of home, too! She was with her sisters. Please keep her in your prayers!

Hope you all have a great day today! May God bless it, may you relax, and enjoy your families!

What's Ahead:
Over the weekend we'll have a cold snap. The chilliest days will be Sunday and Monday. Overnight tonight our low temperatures will be in the upper 20s to low 30s. High temperatures will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Cooler air will make it breezy in the north interior.
Sunday morning a chance of flurries and then clearing skies with cool highs in the 30s.

He sure didn't let any grass grow under his feet. I think he got to work so quickly on the abortion issue and Gitmo because that is what his liberal pals want to hear. I don't think he will really close it, he can't be that ignorant....can he?
