Tara called yesterday from Atlanta on her way home. We told her about grandma. She had a feeling the day she died that it would be the day. I'm glad she didn't have to hear while in Jamaica. Kevon still doesn't know. It is not as tough for Kevon and Karla....not that they didn't care.....but they haven't seen grandma in 16 years....they weren't as close to her as the other 3 kids. But she loved them and asked about them every time we talked to her. She was so happy for Kevon...that he found Meghan, was happy, and about his trip to Jamaica. She loved hearing about Maddie & Dylan's stories.... they always made her laugh. Fortunately she got to see the other 3 kids in the last few years. The only great one she knew was Jordy. We wish she had come up and met the others. I'll just have to tell the kids about her as they grow up like I do my dad. It is definately harder for Becky....she grew up next door to grandma. They were buds. That's going to be tough. And for Rita and Kern.....being down there and going through it all...they are going to feel her absence the most.....and hurt the most. Please pray for them. Pray that they can turn to each other now and be there for each other and help each other out now.
Yesterday we got some groceries. I have to wear "gym clothes" to work....I have a couple of t-shirts, but I got a few long sleeve ones on sale. It gets cold in that gym with all the fans and air conditioning going when you are just sitting at the desk! I
worked last night. Work today. That's about all for today. I'm so happy Brad and Tara are home. I missed her so much.
Today: Clouds with some spotty morning mist, and a few afternoon sunbreaks. Staying cool, in the mid 60s. |
