Traumatic Tuesday

You just never know what direction your day will go.... do you?
Tuesday was definitely a weird and traumatic day. You may think I am overreacting... as some believe I am known to do... but it is my feelings and they were traumatized! It started with me talking with Andrew on the phone and typing on the computer.... when I see running out my front door this squirrel... with my cat chasing it! I run out the door barefoot and grab my broom (to use between the squirrel and cat so the squirrel can get away)! We end up in the neighbor ladies yard. Then the stupid squirrel runs between my legs... I scream... loud. Now remember Andrew is still on the phone with me the whole time... laughing so hard I think he even stopped breathing! The squirrel could only go about a foot up into the tree ... I think one of his feet were hurt. And he kept making this scary noise at me. I thought he would jump up and attack my face! I shooed the cat away. The tree had these real poky things like thorns under it and I am barefoot.... so I run (which is a sight anyway) to the house and get my flip flops and camera ....and the cat had come back. When the squirrel would try to climb the tree the cat would swat it back to the ground. Chased Punkin off again and tried to get that squirrel to climb to safety. This went on awhile when the guy across the street must have finally stopped laughing and had pity on me. He came over and asked if I needed help. I told him the situation and he picked up my cat and said "maybe you should put her in the house so the squirrel can get away." duh. I had thought of that but the cat wouldn't come to me while I had the broom. lol! So he handed me the cat and we came in the house. She had a major time out. Andrew needed to breathe again.... and I needed to calm down. Dumb cat! That door will never be open again without a screen or gate!!! Ever!!!

The other day at my mom's Dylan took this picture of a rabbit..... then another day we were driving with Lauren and Maddie to the store and they saw a coyote.Since living here we've seen lots of eagles, deer, fox, and a bear! I love this area! Oh... and sea life. The grandkids love it!

Around 1 pm there were the weirdest two loud booms. Freaked me out a bit. I guess it wasn't "traumatic" except for maybe a few people. It didn't quite sound like thunder... but more like explosions. I heard sonic booms when I was a kid before (yes they had jets that went that fast back then!!!) and that is what it sounded like. Dylan called... they heard it too... so did papa. Dylan speculated with me... a mountain blew, earthquake, explosion... could be anything. Weird, though. This is what we found out. A guy was flying home from Lake Chelan... he didn't know Obama was in town and flew over the restricted air space. F-16 fighter jets were called and made it from Portland to Seattle in about 2 minutes! Pretty quick, huh? Quick enough to break the speed of sound, which is about one mile in five seconds. That is pretty fast. Portland is about 175 miles from Seattle. So that answered that puzzle.Of course things come in threes... all the traffic was routed through Paradise Bay off the bridge because there was a fatality up the hill. The local 67 year old man in in the motor home was killed. Two teens from Bellevue were injured. What is weird is this is the second day in a row there was an accident in the same spot ... up by the Teal Lake Road!I hate to hear about such tragedy. Pray for all the families and two teenage girls involved please.

I also called the phone company yesterday! I am SO tired of getting phone calls for "Peter" . For over a year people call for "Peter". EVERY DAY!!!! PETER IS NOT HERE!!!! No Peter Parker, Peter Frampton or Peter Pan. NO PETERS! I've gotten calls from the Seattle Symphony and people all over the country!!! He is Dr. Peter ------." I suspect he was a huge donor or something. My phone number changes tomorrow!!! I am so excited!

Talked to my cousin's daughter, Lindsey yesterday. She is bringing my Aunt Lorraine (her grandma) out here from South Dakota Friday! They are flying in and my cousin Larry will pick them up at SeaTac and keep them over night. We are going to a family reunion at my cousin Bob and Linda's Saturday. We are so excited for it! Will be taking Aunt Lorraine and Lindsey to mom's until Wednesday. Larry will come and take them back to the airport. So the sisters will get 4 nights together! I am so excited. Lindsey will have the use of mom's car. Not sure what she will do.... any suggestions? It was nice to get the plans worked out!

Well... that was my yesterday! When you wake up in the morning you never know what kind of day to expect, do you?

WOW, let's see here... I am picturing you running around in the yard swatting and chasing and entertaining the neighbor AND Andrew:) Too funny! Squirrels can be vicious and a little nutty, couldn't resist!

Glad the boom was explained and I am soooo sorry about the wreck and loss of life!

It really makes me smile to know that those Sisters are gonna get to spend time together! I know they will enjoy it so much! Tell Lindsey to go shopping, sounds like fun to me:)

Enjoy your day my friend! HUGS!
