Happy Grandparents Day!!!!! Did you know Grandparents Day has been around since 1978?
" Congress passed the legislation proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day and, on August 3, 1978, then-President Jimmy Carter signed the proclamation.[2]The statute cites the day's purpose as: "...to honor grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children's children, and to help children become aware of strength, information, and guidance older people can offer"
Did you know there is an official Grandparents Day flower? The Forget-me-not. An official song? And celebrated in many countries? Grandparents are awesome! Call or visit yours today! (Sounds like a commercial). My grand daughter, Lauren, is making me breakfast as I type! nummmmmmmy!

Did you notice my new collage? We thought we would lighten the mood up with the "face in the hole" pictures we did last year. The grandkids were laughing so hard while we made those... such great memories! It was a blast! I wonder if you can tell who everyone is?
Yesterday was great. Here is Lauren playing in her very first soccer game ever! And brother Andrew watching her play for a change.
We went down to mom's old homestead.... now Don and Lois's (my sis). Libby (my other sis) and her husband Kevin own the place and the house next door .... they worked so hard on this place the last 5 months painting, new carpet, new deck, tile, new bathroom.... it looks great.
Kevin built the deck by himself and it is so beautiful!
They put in new carpet and tiled the front entry... it is so nice.
Here is the first moving day... Grant (my cousins son and pro wrestler) carries stuff by himself. He needs no help. Papa and Kevin checking with what to take next.
I kept Don seated as much as I could. He is pretty disabled with his back and it is hard to slow him down.
We took Don and Lois to drop off the U Haul and then went to see mom. Our brother Rick was already there visiting mom. Libby and Kevin came too and we visited in the Garden Room. Mom enjoyed herself and got to look at pictures of her old trailer. She is still happy with her apartment. Rick took Don and Lois back to Yakima after the visit.
Amanda brought the kids over later and Lauren was soooo happy! Didn't see her much again because Gregory and Cameron were outside playing. Off she goes!
Papa took Andrew driving at the church parking lot like he did our kids when they were learning. Andrew loves driving!
When they got back we watched the History channel on 911. Andrew was so moved by it. It was well done and very sad. If you get a chance to catch it.... you should. Talked quite a bit about the other 2 planes in the field and Pentagon, too.
Sleeping was weird... the kids didn't sleep where they normally do.. in the den. Lauren slept comfy cozy in the toy room and Andrew slept on the living room couch. Maybe because we have more channels on the living room tv? Not sure.
Don't they look peaceful?
Going to church this morning and then see mom and then no plans. I hope you have a great day!
