blackberries and buddies.....

yea, yea, yea... crazy old Joyce changed her background again. I'm just young and restless. It is funny how I like it at the time but in the morning I wake up and say to myself "what were you thinking????" It was too dark and busy for me.... today.

We didn't do anything yesterday. Well, I shouldn't say "we".... I didn't. Papa was busy. He mowed the lawn, emptied the pool, and Papa went blackberry picking yesterday morning! Got a whole bucket full! The guy can't sit still. For some reason I am good at it. Last night my bff, Sharon called. We talked for over two hours! We hadn't talked for a while. I missed her.

Today my cousin, Michael, is having a birthday. I am not sure if he is 60 or 61. Also it is CJ Mitchell's birthday.... she is an old friend I lost contact with a few years ago. She was sooo funny and we met when I worked at the chiropractor and would have lunch together. She introduced us to the Nazarene church. I remember Pastor Bill thought her name was CJ Nutshell. He misheard her. So funny how she would tell the story. I miss her.

Lauren is coming over to help papa blackberry pick and then her and I are watching the Sound of Music .... again. Andrew is raising money for his school trip to Japan at a carwash today. It is his dream to go to Japan. He is trying to raise money. He has some but needs tons more. Not cheap.

Ok.... I saw this picture yesterday and it reminded me of two of my grandkids. Can you guess who????

It is Jordan and Dylan. She is always trying to hug him and he is always pulling away. She is the hugger of the grandkids.... very affectionate. Plus she likes to bug Dylan. Dylan is very picky about who he touches (like his mama) and not so generous with his affections. I only see him hug and hang on me and his mom. I took the liberty of posting a few pictures over the years so you can see what I mean.....

The one I took last week appears he is weakening.... maybe giving in to the inevitable? He's still not hugging back.... but he isn't making a face or pulling away (too much) ! lol
Believe it or not there was a time when they were very little he would touch her. They are getting their picture taken and he has his hand in her hair. He used to put his fingers in peoples hair and caress and play with their hair.

Last night I was trying to fall asleep (which took forever.... like 1 am) and papa rolled over and touched the back of my hair. Sometimes we do that to one another... it is a reassuring feeling that the person is there. I laid there listening to his breathing thanking the Lord for him. When you get close to losing someone.... it makes you extremely thankful for each day.

Well.... done for the day.... look for another blog background change soon!

Weather To Expect:
Cloudy Sunday morning. with afternoon sun and low to mid 70s.
A weak ridge of high pressure will push away the morning clouds faster on Monday for sunshine and mid 70s.
Tuesday a front wanders in adding a chance of light rain in the morning, especially on the coast, then afternoon clearing.
Expect mostly sunny skies and 70s Wednesday and Thursday.

Yeah, I like to change mine a lot too. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe we just tire easily with things. Gotta keep things moving, you know.

Enjoy your blackberries. I posted a recipe a while back for an excellent, easy blackberry cobbler.
