July 16th... Thursday!

Well this picture was taken only two years ago today when Papa had his first heart attack. That's when our lives really changed. It was the roughest couple months of his life physically, mentally, and emotionally. It about ruined us financially. But our marriage and love grew stronger than I could ever think possible. Our priorities changed. Our way of thinking about others changed. We learned so much and grew so much. We don't want to ever go through it again... but now I can see the good that resulted. We also found out he is allergic to heparin... which the knowledge could save his life down the road! I'm so thankful for these past two years. I'm thankful to God mostly and then to the medical team He brought Lanny to. We almost lost him 5 times in those 3 weeks. Thank you God for not taking him home yet!!!!

Yesterday was a great day! Took Lauren and Maddie to the free movie and saw "Horton Hears a Who". What a great movie! It was funny! Took Maddie home and then came home to gather Mr. Morrison up and take him home. Mom got home today! I missed her!!!! She said the funeral was nice and it was good to see everyone again. The cats seemed to be getting along pretty good by the time he went home!
I had a little accident when I first got to mom's. I don't know if I was in a big fat hurry to see her or what.... but I was wearing flipflops and went to get out and my right foot hit under the brake pedal and I scraped it getting out. That doesn't sound so bad except I took off half of the left side of my big toenail with it! That was a bleeder! Kept it wrapped in a wet paper towel while I visited with mom. Lauren fell asleep on my lap while we were there. After I got home I soaked it, she put neosporin on it and wrapped it up for me since we had to go to the dirty baseball game. Didn't want dirt in it. By the way.... have you ever noticed that when you have a hurt toe... you bump it on everything?

When we start driving away down mom's road Lauren started to freak out a bit. There was a dragon fly in the van. So I pull over and she got to watch it fly out.... which is good because if she hadn't she would have never believed it. lol. She proceeded to tell me how she saw a Queen Bee in Seattle with her parents at the Seattle Center behind glass in a hive. She said she knew it was a queen bee because she saw her crown. lol

Wow, what a game! Last night our kids played 2 softball games and they were so good and so fun! I love keeping score! I feel like part of the team without having to run! lol! We won both games! The second one was tougher because we were down 6-1 at one point. We rallied and won 12-9! We really do have such an awesome team! Come out and watch Friday night at 6:15! They play two games again on the JV field (the one next to the road between the tennis courts and the football field at NK High School). It is really a lot of fun! Tara brought spray bottles with fans so Lauren is cooling off her dad and Jay.
I asked the girls to take pictures and this is what Riley took.... herself. She is a pretty cute subject.
Lauren getting cool....

When I was looking for a picture of Lanny on this date.... I found one of the Maddie and Lauren on this date last year when they were taking swimming lessons. Pretty girls. They have grown up in a year!

Well, our friend Jake will be here in 45 minutes so I best get dressed. Hope you have a wonderful day! I know I will! Maddie and Dylan are coming over and spending the night!!!! God bless you and your day with lots of love and laughter!

Sorry about your toe. Theresa had something similar happen to her a couple of years ago. Ouchy!

Oh yes I did and had to have it removed. Do you know that it still hurts! Cute grandchildren!

Love to all and glad Papa is taking care of himself!
