A little blog sense....

I love what Holly said about blogging........ makes sense to me:
The web log is an interesting phenomenon, one which I have not studied but do utilize and appreciate. Here are some of the reasons for my utilization and appreciation:

#1 - A blog is an easy, user-friendly, and time-saving way to disseminate information to the masses. When life is "normal", posting photographs of our children to the blog lets the grammas and grampas and aunts and uncles and friends and loved ones share in the life and times of the family. When life gets crazy (for example, when one's husband is diagnosed with colon cancer and undergoes surgery and chemotherapy for treatment), access to the Internet and the use of the blog allows one to share, with as many persons as possible, up-to-the-minute information about the craziness. Posting to my blog takes far less time than telephoning every single one of my many friends and family, each of whom I love and appreciate and with whom I want to communicate. As well, posting pictures to the blog allows you, the reader, to share visually in the moments of my life.

B) - When DJ was in the hospital for those 5.5 days of surgery and post-operative recovery, I took the opportunity to describe in detail via my blog what was taking place with his health and body; and in so doing I wondered a couple of times, "Is this TMI? Should I be more succinct, in case my fan club doesn't really care much about all these details?" It was there that I came to appreciate the blog and the blogging for its use as a "live journal", because the way that I personally process life is mostly with my WORDS. I've decided that it was just fine and dandy for me to write as many details about what we were (and are) experiencing with DJ's cancer and treatments and life in general, since it is therapy for me (as long as I don't violate anyone else's right to privacy)! In the interest of passing along information to ya'll, I was also aided in my own search for well-being and harmony and balance and mental health. Hooray!
I 100% agree with her.... especially when we faced our own health crisis with Papa. I tried to call and/or email but i would be so exhausted when I got home from being with him all day... my posts were a way to release stress and to inform and to keep a journal. I love my blog. Even if I get crap for it for one reason or the other. I love doing it. People don't have to read it if they don't like it.... but I like it and will continue to post until I can't. It will never make a book like Karla's could.... I am not the best writer.... but it is mine to do or say what I want with it.... which is usually what goes on in my home or where I am. Try to keep it my business.

That being said.... yesterday I worked on pictures. I had fun... here are some I had fun with:
Don't know what I will do with them.... but it was fun!

Papa came home and worked on the deck and we took time out to go to Lauren's game and then he came home and finished what he was doing (replacing boards). Andrew had already sanded and primed spots on Sunday. He worked hard and Papa appreciated it soooo much! He tried to give Andrew some money at the ball park last night but he wouldn't take it. I think he feels good about helping Papa. Might have to get a work party with grandkids over here. The older ones. Papa won't ask for help, he will kill himself doing it himself. Right papa????

Here is the girls getting ready for Maddie's ballet rehearsal. It was full costume so she needed her face done up... so naturally, Lauren did too. They were beautiful and they knew it. I loved dressing up as a kid! Especially with makeup! Their make up didn't last though. Wore off quickly. lol!
Had pizza for dinner last night and watched 24. Didn't get much housework done yesterday .... will today. My Hawaiian Coconut will be home soon! Here is a picture of him sleeping on the beach in Hawaii. I should be napping there with him! lol!Speaking of pictures... here is my memory picture of the day of Karla in the Viking Fest Parade! She is on the far left. So proud.... almost as proud as when she twirled a baton in it years earlier! lol! Here is my Facebook friend of the day! Bertha Fleming was a classmate of mine, too! Lots of them, huh? She was always funny with a great smile! I haven't seen her in years... but thanks to facebook we are back in touch! ;D
My verse of the day, Luke 2:52, was sent to me from my 14 year old grandson Andrew... with this challenge: How can you apply this to your life?Have a great day today and may God bless all you do! ;D xoxo

Weather to Expect:
A wet start on this Tuesday morning as rain spreads in from the south. The steadiest rain will be around during the morning hours before we turn to showers and sun breaks this afternoon. After many cities were in the 70s yesterday, we are going to shave 5 to 10 degrees off temperatures today. Look for highs in the mid to low 60s around Puget Sound.
The rain today is only the beginning of stormier weather ahead. A strong cold front moves in tomorrow evening. This front will pack gusty wind and widespread rain. Behind the cold front, temperatures drop into the mid to upper 50s Thursday and Friday. More showers and the chance of thunderstorms will be in the forecast for the second half of your work week.
