Jumping the gun?

That's a dumb expression... but what I may have done. I was hoping I would be traveling across the bridge today! But no.... this is what I got last night:
The exact SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge opening time is still unknown because, as we experienced today, testing work is unpredictable. I know that wasn't what you wanted to hear. Believe me, I feel your pain. With seemingly the whole peninsula having my cell phone number saved as a speed dial, I am as anxious as you are to know when the bridge is opening. What I do know is that the crews are working long hours, focused on opening the bridge as soon as possible by completing draw span adjustments now in order to help ensure the 20 cycle tests will go well once we start. I spent most of the morning out on the draw span myself, watching crews work through the draw span check list’s 1,400 electrical, mechanical and hydraulic items. The primary challenge today was aligning the pontoons ends correctly each time.According to Scott Ireland, Hood Canal Bridge Construction Manager and expert, joining the new bridge components to the existing west half adds another set of challenges to completing this very technical bridge that requires extensive checks and adjustments to ensure its safe and reliable operation. So now draw span testing is now scheduled for Wednesday. Another update will be provided Wednesday evening so check back then.

So.... now you know all that we know. Dylan is going on his field trip on this side for 2 nights with the whole 5th grade! So the bus will take him to the ferry.... they will all walk over and then Chimicum School district will bring a bus to pick the 5th graders up and take them to their final destination. I'm excited for him. Speaking of Dylan.... sounds like I missed one of his best games last night. Figures. He has one more on Friday. Haven't heard how Riley's went. She is quite a ball player! Tonight Jordy has another game. Missing that one too. Come on bridge!

Happy birthday to my long time friend, Maria (used to be Yeager). Here is a picture of her with me and Sherri in Seattle. It was so fun that day! Just recently got back in touch with her on Facebook! I love facebook!

It is also Daniel's birthday! He is almost family.... my niece, Marie's, nephew. He would come over with Ron and Marie on weekends and became good buds with our kids... especially Kevon. Haven't seen him in years either.... and back in touch through, again, Facebook! Did I mention I love facebook? lol Here is Dan with his wife Sarah. Since then they had a new baby girl!!!Very sad news.... Don & Lois's little pom, Missy, had to be put to sleep yesterday. It is really devastating to Don.... his dog and companion. Keep them in your prayers. It is really difficult to lose a pet. They do become family.

Speaking of pets.... saw the funniest thing this morning. I opened the patio glass door and the cats started going out. Mr. Morrison got to the door and stopped... checking it out. Punkin came up behind him and literally pushed him out the door with her paw! I laughed!!! Oh, did I laugh. Mr. Morrison hasn't wanted to go out the last couple days. Sleeping alot. Maybe the heat. HURRY HOME MOM! The other day I heard a noise at the front door and I opened the curtain like I normally do to make sure Punkin isn't bringing in a mouse or bird. Scared me to death when I pulled back that curtain! There was Morrison's face at the window! The cat is soooo long when he stands up he is tall and was trying to look in the window. Didn't expect to see that! lol! Told Andrew about it and he couldn't stop laughing!

Make sure you check out Heather's blog.... she posted the video of Joshua. With the music it is great!!!

Have you been watching the new reality show? I'm A Celebrity... get me out of here. ?
I love it. It is a little survivor and a little fear factor. It is on every night this week. It is funny, irritating, and entertaining... like most reality shows. Maybe I just have more time on my hands than most. haha!

Enjoy your day today. Going to be another beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest! I'm walking on sunshine.....woooooh-oooh!

What To Expect:
A Heat Advisory issued by the National Weather Service is in effect from 2 this afternoon until 6 tomorrow evening. Potentially record temperatures this afternoon with sun and high 80s. Some south Sound and eastside cities will run as high as 90. Changes Thursday night, as marine air makes it back in, bringing more clouds and a slight chance of a shower. Cooler, partly cloudy weather dominates Friday through early next week with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
