This blog was interrupted due to power outage.

That's right. We lost our power right after the coffee brewed at 3 this morning.... and it stayed off til noon and then kept going on and off. Then I had to bake my Amish bread and get going to get Mary to the hospital. Just getting time to write! First thing I want to do is wish my dear friend, Cindy Lou, a very very happy 40th birthday!!!! She is one of my Georgia gals that I love dearly! You don't have to meet a person to form a special bond with them.... you just know its special by who it is! And Cindy is very special!!!! Don't forget to read her blog... marine mom!

Sad news... please pray for a family in Grays Harbor that lost their 12 year old son to Swine Flu. He caught it the 1st of November... it progressed like a normal flu and then he collapsed and stopped breathing and they couldn't revive him. His heart enlarged.... how strange. It is hard because it hits close to home.

Our anniversary was in the Sun yesterday.... didn't see it. oops.

I cannot believe the weather. It has been raining so hard all day and wind gusts like crazy. Just a yucky, nasty day. Not fit for man nor beast! (know what movie that is from?)
Can't really complain too much.... after all we do live in Washington State.... on the Olympic Peninsula! It rains here and we all know it! That is why it is so pretty and green here all the time! Edward must be having a blast in this weather. Good hunting weather and he doesn't have to hide! There is always a silver lining behind a cloud, right?
As you can tell I don't have much to write about. Speaking of rain.... and to end my post... I do want to share this story:

We waited, some patiently , others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in

‘Mom let’s run through the rain,’ she said.

‘What?’ Mom asked.

‘Lets run through the rain!’ She repeated.

‘No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a
bit,’ Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run
through the rain,’

‘We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said.

‘No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the young girl said
as she tugged at her Mom’s arm.

'This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet? "

‘Don’t you remember? When you were talking t o Daddy about his cancer, you
said, ‘If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!’

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but
the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.
m p

‘Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If GOD let’s us
get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,’ Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted
past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over
their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who
screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories…So, don’t forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

This story reminded me of the time we lived at Shorty's.... it was rainy and muddy and our 5 kids were little. We got dressed, grabbed trucks and shovels and went out to the dirt and mud and made roads and houses! It was fun! All 5 kids and the parents outside in the rain having fun. I hope the kids hold it in their memory as a special day.... I do. Enjoy the rain.

Weather to Expect:
Powerful winds and more rain expected as another storm moves over western Washington overnight into Tuesday morning. Forks has had record rainfall with 2.46" in the gauge by 5pm.
A High Wind Warning in effect for the north interior and coast where gusts will be up to 60mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the rest of the area for gusts up to 50mph, that includes Everett, Seattle, Olympia, Chehalis and the Kitsap Peninsula. The strong, potentially damaging winds will continue through 10 am Tuesday morning.
The Flood warnings are mostly on the Olympic Peninsula for rivers running off the Olympic mountains, but most of western Washington is under a Flood Watch due to the stalled front bringing copious rain amounts. Steady rain, heavy at times, will continue through about noon Tuesday before changing to scattered showers.
Tuesday afternoon temperatures will cool and snow levels will fall to 3,000 feet. This will help to ease the flooding rivers and avalanche danger. Rain showers will be more scattered with highs in the mid to upper 40s. The next storm will increase rain and wind Wednesday night into the day Thursday.

What a sweet post! Cindy had a great birthday and you are special to us too! Tracy gave Cindy a picture frame with that saying about dancing in the rain:) How sweet! Funny how grandchildren seem to bring out those things in us that we just say "oh what the heck"! and do it anyway:) Wish I had been more that way when Tracy was little, too many worries in those younger days. Love you up there and someday we'll meet in the middle:) Have a blessed day!
