Happy Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day. I am very reflective and thankful today. And sad. Just one of those days, I guess. I am so thankful God put me in the United States.... it is the best country ever... even with all it's faults. I love this country. I am thankful He put me with my parents and family during this time in life. There are so many things I am thankful for!

Being Veteran's Day I can't help but think of my family that have serve, ones that gave their life, and ones still serving and am thankful for their courage and continue to pray for them....My Uncle Selmer who died WW2 in France.

My big brother, Doug, who is a Vietnam Veteran.

Justin, my nephew, serving in Afghanistan.

We had a wonderful anniversary. Quiet. Lots of congratulations from everyone which really touched my heart. Thank you all. Marriage isn't always easy but it sure is nice to reach such a milestone in ours. It is so worth all we've been through together to have the strong love we do for one another and from others. There are certainly things we would have done different through these past 25 years.... things that could have made it a bit easier on us and others.... but God is good. We may have stumbled and went the long way to get here.... but He brought us to our 25th anniversary. :D

I look forward to Saturday. I am kind of sad because I thought all the kids would be there.... found out today Kevon and Meghan made reservations to go clamming at the ocean with some friends and won't be there. Apparently everyone knew but me. No one wanted to tell me. Am I that big of a monster? (reminds me of parker....when I asked him a couple years ago if he was afraid of me and he said "not yet." lol. I am disappointed but there is nothing I can do about it. I wanted a family pic for Christmas, too. Oh well ....it is what it is, right? I am very excited for the party though.... and seeing Don, Heather and the boys again and just being surrounded by family and love!!! We're so blessed. Praying the passes don't get snow!!!!

Got some sad news this morning. Terri Phelps passed away this morning after a 2 year battle with brain cancer. I knew it was coming because she entered the hospital a couple days ago after getting back from Hawaii. She died peacefully with her family around her. Her daughter, Melissa, is one of Heather's best friends and has been forever.... and Lanny worked with Terri's husband Steve. Please keep Steve, Melissa, Jason, and the rest of the family in your prayers as they go through this time.

Melissa and her mom last year.

Terri and Steve on their recent trip to Hawaii.

Our family did get some good news! Brittni's boyfriend, Jake, does NOT have cancer! Praise the Lord!!! It is "cat scratch fever"! It is not just a Ted Nugent song.... it is an actual disease. And it is treatable with antibiotics! We are so thankful today!!!! Just would have been nice had the doctors not scared these poor kids and everyone else to death!

Keep Mary in your prayers. I've been taking her to her radiation treatments for her Graves Disease.... and she is in SO MUCH pain with the Shingles on her back. Poor Mary. We go again to the hospital tonight... all this week. I love Mary.

Papa went to the doctor yesterday. He vomited from coughing. Sorry, but it's true! They did an xray on his lungs.... she said no pneumonia and no bronchitis... but there is some congestion in the lungs. Weird.... so he is on antibiotic and cough syrup. Praying it heals him up quick. He is off from his government job til Monday! That is good.

Well.... that is all I got. Getting kind of pokey about blogging. Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Joyce! I have been so busy and pokey about blogging too! So glad to hear he does not have cancer and so sad to hear the poor woman died from it. She looked alot like my friend's Mom who just died. I guess they tend to have a similar look when they go through the brain cancer treatments. So sad. Hope your Honey feels better soon!

Hey Friend! Sounds like it will still be a big bunch of fun even with a couple missing. We just can't always be everywhere, I am learning that:) Sorry abut the loss of Melissa's Mom, cancer is awful... I hate it! It takes too many lives these days! Love to all and prayers for Papa, Mary and Melissa! Have a blessed day!

Praise God about Jake not having cancer. What a scary ordeal! And yes it is a real disease. Cat's carry really nasty germs. If you get scratched you have to clean it very thoroughly!!

Hope uncle gets better quick! That virus is so nasty!
