Kids, careers... and I was a good mom!

Wow....I took my evening meds too early last night.... about 6:30. Fell asleep by 7:30. Note to self... wait until 8 or so to take meds! Oh well. Papa had a peaceful evening. lol!

Andrew is so good with kids. He went out and played with the girls yesterday. They loved it. The kids and I had a good time yesterday. In the morning we watched The Wizard of Oz. I know this would ruin it for most people... but I had to go through explaining the costume and makeup to Maddie, and how it was just a dream from being knocked out, and who the Tin man (her favorite), scarecrow, and lion were on the farm... all that stuff to keep her from being scared. And she wasn't. She said the only scary part was when Oz appeared the first time talking to them. She did good and loved the movie. She said she saw it before but she was little then.
We had a nice breakfast.... and our best talks are over breakfast. We talked about what we want to be when we grow up. Andrew wants to go to Running Start and work at the Shipyard before going to art school. He wants to be a Cartoon Artist. Dylan wants to be a Photographer or Baseball player (but he is pretty sure that's not going to happen).... and he wants to go to the UW. Lauren wants to be an artist, too, just like Andrew. And rich. Every time Maddie said she wanted to be something, Dylan would shoot it down and tell her why she couldn't.... so I'm not really sure what we ended up with. I know she wants lots of kids, dogs and cat!

I told them about the kids... Tara wanted to be a hairdresser, Heather wanted to be a teacher of elementary kids, Karla wanted to be a Flight attendant, and Kevon wanted to be a Camera Man for television or movies. While I was talking.... I realized that I wasn't a bad mom. I was a very good mom!!!! I took Karla over to Sandy's house (she was a flight attendant/patient of Stockers) and she told Karla all about what it's like. I contacted Tony Ventrella (who was the sportscaster at KIRO tv at the time) and he invited us over to the station. Kevon got the whole tour and met Joyce Taylor (who is a very tall, beautiful black woman on KING now). It was quite an experience. And Tara we encouraged to take Cosmetology school in high school.... which she did. I asked hair stylists at work... which was the best schools for her after high school. None suggested Bremerton.. all Seattle. Then we took Heather over to test for Travel Agent school after high school which she was accepted into... and paid for her schooling and her ferry fare while she went with Tara. They both worked there for awhile but I guess they all decided they didn't want the jobs as careers after that. So, I guess I was a good mom after all. I just had to be reminded.

Andrew found Sims 2 in a cupboard and brought it out. I downloaded it while the boys went to the beach. He played it part of the afternoon. Dylan got bored so Karla picked him up about 1-ish. Maddie wanted to stay and play with Lauren. They played in the toy room and outside. Then we took Sandy, Lauren, Andrew, and Maddie all home and relaxed the rest of the evening. Well.... til I fell asleep. lol!

Meeting Christy and going to church this morning. I'm excited. She is so sweet. Never really got to just chat with her for a long time.

Hope your day is awesome! Superbowl Sunday! We're the only ones with no plans. Karla is having Brad & Tara and Danny & Rachel over. Ryan & Amanda have plans .... and I'm sure Kevon & Meghan have plans. So we'll just watch it by ourselves. We need to broaden our circle, I guess. I'm really not that into it anyway.

What's Ahead:
Most areas will stay dry on Sunday morning before rain moves in during the afternoon. High temperatures will be staying cool in the low 40s.
A few showers lingering on Monday morning, before we dry things out for a couple days.
Mostly sunny with patchy fog on Tuesday. Temperatures will be a little warmer as well, right around the 50 degree mark.
More clouds on Wednesday with the next chance of showers coming on Thursday.
