Depression and lunch... but not together!

Had a great day yesterday. I seriously think now I was a sufferer from depression! It's one of those things people don't want to admit to themselves. I really didn't believe I had it because I thought I was doing ok... a bit emotional but I thought that was just me. After I took the test I was a bit surprised. I always thought it was a phase and will pass, or premenopause, or the monthly or whatever. But it is something in the brain that can be helped. My symptoms were moodiness and cried easily, tired all the time, inability to concentrate and understand things very quickly(last joy), lack of interest in things, feelings of guilt and unworthiness, etc... who knows how long I've had it! My kids would probably say forever! lol! There are tests you can take online. If you find yourself cranky most of the time, unhappy, tearful, trouble sleeping or sleeping too much, snapping at everyone ... you may want to get checked. Even teenagers can have this. It is hereditary. My mom has had it for years. Now I understand it. I'm glad I talked with my doctor. I am happy most of the time.... I'm not stressed out over the little things and life is so much better! Even with this past weeks events... I'm ok! Cried Monday.... but that's understandable, right? Haven't since! I think if you have any doubts... check with your doctor. It is so worth it. Just something to think about.

Yesterday I met mom and Libby for lunch! It was great! We went to Kings Wok. That's not my favorite place so much to eat, but it was nice to be together! Dad liked it there because he was waited on! lol! After we ate Libby proposed a toast to dad! And mom said "He will never leave our hearts." and I added "And his words will never leave our minds." Then we started laughing about all the one-liners dad had. Some of them I can't print.... the grandkids loved that part of him. He was a unique and much loved man... and missed!

I really need to do some housework today! I have to finish scanning this pile of pictures, too. But I think I can do both! Supermam!

Have a great day today.... praying for more sunshine like yesterday! That was awesome!

What's Ahead:
Frost and fog started our day again with partly cloudy skies. Rain could creep into southwest Washington cities tonight.
Otherwise generally dry weather continues through Saturday with a mix of sun and clouds. A chance of rain comes Saturday night with showers threatening at times Sunday through Wednesday. Daytime highs will stay in the mid 40s.

I totally know what you mean.I'm no Pollyanna everything will be wonderful there'd s pony in this barn of sh--- somewhere!!But when Dad's back problems were overwhelming us all I couldn't even get enthusiam for Christmas and we've had some where we got nothing,so it wasn't the stuff. It was the blackest (Excuse me.Mrs. Black!!) I've ever felt.I listen to Christmas music year round so for me to be that way...If it was a permanent thing, well, let's just say I can understand why Donny couldn't deal with it tho he should have known he could get help if it was not mere blues.I bounced back but...It was really grim for a while. No enthusiasm for anything. It is hard to keep optimistic hen what is wrong isn't going away and no releif or solution in sight.I sympathizewith those who cannot get away ferom feeling that way and I truly thank God I don't anymore.Optimism took a beating but it's still in there.Luv ya.
