Day of busy-ness!

Oh, what a day.  I feel like I spun my tires and went no where. Ever have a day like that?  Maddie came over this morning and we headed out the door to run errands. Got a bit of a late start. Picked up Lauren first.  Then we ran over to Bainbridge Island to see Maddie's art work in the Bainbridge Art Museum.  That was pretty cool to see it there!!!  The price is $75.00 to purchase her picture!
Lauren and Maddie (those are fake glasses Lauren likes to wear)

Maddie next to her picture

Her Grandpa Dave's house

I also ran into an old friend I haven't seen in over 14 years!  Her name is Charlotta.... she is Swedish and a chiropractor that worked in the same office I was a receptionist at.  We caught up on her life, my life and a little gossip about the other two chiropractors who worked there. One moved to California with his son....the other took off in the middle of the night outrunning the IRS and went to the Caribbean! lol!  Charlotta doesn't do Chiropractic work any more.

Then we went to Safeway.... couldn't find anything to eat... swung by McDonalds and got tired of the drive-thru wait so we left Bainbridge Island.
Went to Maddie's and got her fake glasses and her DS.
Next we got some Subway sandwiches and went to Lions Club Park. We ran into some friends Derrance and Jessica....and their little one year old Tyus.  So cute!!! He kept hugging Lauren and waving bye bye.
We went to the Library where I picked up a bunch of books for my school!  It was fun! And the highlight was I ran into one of my old students... Lyric!  He was at a table with his mom and another lady and I said "Hi Lyric... do you remember me?" and before I got the whole sentence out he jumped up and ran into my arms!!!!  I almost cried!  It was awesome! He kept finding me and talking to me. Also saw one of our kids, Sophia's, mom.
We went to Dollar Store and I got just a few things. Saw no one I knew there. lol!
Then we ran to Walmart and got some baby food for our school (taste). Doing the 5 Senses at school this next week.  Should be fun!  There were other things I wanted to get but couldn't find.  That is where I really felt like I was spinning wheels!  Did see Tamara Henry and visited and caught up on things. It was nice.
Even though I didn't feel like I got anything accomplished... I got some visiting in....touching human life is far more important than busy-ness.  Right???
At walmart Maddie bent down on a knee to look for baby food flavors and her knee must have landed on glass. It was a bleeder! It bled for over 15 minutes.  Of course we left and ran back to her house and Karla cleaned it up and dressed it for her.  Maddie figures a jar broke and it didn't get cleaned up all the way.  I'm sure she is right. SUE! jk
Well, that has been our day! Now they are having pasta with green salt (Parmesan cheese).

It was a pretty good week at school.  It was health week.
Monday we talked about nutrition and every day we went over the Food Pyramid and talked about healthy foods and not very healthy foods. It was fun and they retained what they learned!  We made mobiles with healthy food they colored hanging from them.
Tuesday was Exercise!!! Veronica led them in exercises, we talked about different ways to exercise and sang Row Row Row Your Boat. The kids also did Broccoli Art where they made paintings using pieces of broccoli!
Wednesday almost everyone wore their pajama's and we talked about how important sleep is for our bodies and minds and health.
They loved playing outside with their fruit balls (bouncy balls that smelled like fruit) in their pajamas!
Me and Ella

We did a cute project where they colored a paper bed, a quilt, a boy, girl and sleeping dog and we glued 3 sides of the quilt on so they could tuck the kids and animal in bed. They loved it!
Thursday was Groundhogs day so the kids used paper cups, a stick and a gopher and colored and fixed them up so the gopher could pop out of his hole. lol! They loved that project alot! The tooth fairy "Twinkles" also came and talked to the kids about dental health!  It was cool because Skana was with her (she is married to Brad Sloman....one of Kevon's best friends all through high school!) It was good to see her!

And Friday we did a recap of the week!  The day went really fast and we didn't have many kids. We played with the parachute outside. That was fun!

Well... enough of that. I only seem to talk about my grandkids and work. That is my life. And I love my life. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  We have church and not sure if we'll even watch the Superbowl. Papa doesn't really care about either team.  We were invited to Tara & Brad's but Papa can't turn the channel if he is there. lol!  They'll have more fun with their friends without us anyway.
It is also Brad's birthday!

Love to all and have fun celebrating to my bestie's in Georgia!!! Thank the Lord!!!!

Thursday - Sunday! lol!

It is already SUNDAY MORNING!!!  Can you believe it? I was just excited about how we were almost ready to start the weekend and now it is almost over!  And I haven't posted.

Well.....time to catch up!  If I can remember that far!!!!

THURSDAY:
Papa went to Jordy's first soccer game on the Junior High team! They won 5-3!!  Papa said it was a really good game and Jo played alot!!!  Wish I could have gone but the games are before I get off work.
Papa went and got Andrew and Lauren and we all went to Azteca's for dinner.  Nummy!  Mine was good.  Papa always gets the Macho Burrito and he thinks they stuffed it with more rice than meat this time. :(  But the company was good!
I was so frustrated with Lauren.... she wouldn't stop crossing an eye!
They spent the night and Papa took them to school the next day while I went to Walmart and had some pictures made.

FRIDAY:
I think Friday was a pretty good day!  After work Veronica, Sarah and I went to Red Robin for V's birthday.  It was nice!  Did you know that they don't do the LOUD, happy birthday anymore.  Our waitress was just told on Friday.  Sad! :(  That is why I wanted to go there.  That and the fish and chips and clam chowder!  SO GOOD!
 Veronica and Sarah
Papa surprised me with Christmas lights up when I got home!
I picked up Maddie....since Lauren was already back at my house to sleep over.

SATURDAY:
We took Maddie and Lauren over to Poulsbo Elementary for an arts and craft thingy.... they got to make several gifts for family members!!!  That was cool.  Took them a lunchable that they never ate until we picked them up.  While they were gone.... papa and I went and got gas on the Indian reservation...then to Rite Aid and got some Christmas stuff for 50% off!  Good deal!  Then we went to Walmart and got some stuff we needed and didn't need!  I ran into Logan...from school last year! He will probably always be one of my favorite kids!  He goes to kindergarten somewhere else. He was looking for his dad....so we went and looked and then we went and found his mom!  I love that kid!
They came out all made up....they were hyena's and this was blood from their kill.
Lauren had taken papa's cell phone and called us when they were done.  We picked them up and picked up Andrew and came home.  Andrew stayed for a few hours...watched a Christmas movie with us....Papa made the girls ribs for dinner....and we just chilled.

SUNDAY:
It was musical beds with papa and I.  He has the worst cough!!!  So he went to bed...I fell asleep in the chair because I knew if I went in there he would wake up.  When he finally woke....he woke me up to go to bed and he took the chair because he was coughing. Then I got up later and came back and told him to go back to bed and I took the couch until 9:00!!!!  Last one up!  Crazy night!
So far the sun is out this morning.  Maddie wants french toast this morning. That does sound good! So I gotta run and cook breakfast, call Aunt Lorraine, wrap some gifts, do some Christmas cards and clean some house!!!! Have a great day yourself! 21 days til Christmas!!!!  Thirteen until our family Christmas!!!!!!!!  The girls want to spend the night again because there is no Elementary school tomorrow!  I still have to work. :(  Papa doesn't. His first week of full retirement was great!

She did it!!!!!!!!

I just realized I didn't post this morning!  Oops.  But I am glad I waited!  My grand daughter, Jordy, just made VARSITY on her soccer team at school!  She is super excited....all of us are!  Good job, Jordan!!!! So proud of you!

This stuff worked so good for me today. I recommend it!
I woke up feeling pretty yucky yesterday morning. Coming down with a cold.  Luckily, I had today off. I didn't do much of anything today. Got some Theraflu....that helped alot.  Starting to feel kind of icky again now.....seems like mornings and evenings is when you feel worst.

Yesterday Lanny and I went to his cousins for turkey dinner!  Robert Ledford has asked us for several years and we finally made it.  Good food!!!! Felt a bit uncomfortable when we first got there...I didn't know barely anyone. Then Cheryl and Gene (she is Lanny's cousin too...a Brazeau) showed up. We sat with them and visited. It was very nice.  Robert and his wife sat with us too. He has a huge garage with antique toys hanging and it is really nice! They had a lot of tables set up and nice decorations. Best of all was the food. Lanny really enjoyed himself. :D

Maddie is sitting down ....the lowest kid on the ground  They just finished the song. Thought I would throw this picture out there.  Better than any I took. Mine sucked.  I cannot load the video of her talking until I get my camera back from Karla.

Well....going to go chill out. Veronica had a good day at work. I need to talk to Marcey about them letting Sarah leave....and a little girls dad tomorrow night. fun.  I am so happy to have Veronica back!!! She is like sunshine in that center!

Well.... thanks for being interested in my blog. Means a lot to me! xoxo

Girls, girls everywhere!

Sometimes my cell phone does ok....sometimes not so much. I took video's and photo's with my camera by I gave it to Karla to download on to her computer first. I know I got some great stuff on those.
Last night was the Pageant. Whoever won goes on to Miss Washington. Maddie's girl didn't win, but she did amazing!  She should have won. It was a fun night. Veronica, me and Dylan sat at one table and Joel, Karla and his parents sat next to us. We actually had their table first...right behind the judges..but gave it up to them. It was the best table in the house. Ours was awesome too, it was right up front, too! Karla did good on getting the reserved seats! Thanks Karla!
Maddie was amazing. She spoke her words clearly and did a wonderful job.... she walked across the stage waving like she was suppose to....she did the dance number and rocked it!  Just adorable! Karla cried every time Maddie went up. Maddie hated her sash.

Grammy was giving her flowers. She got lots of flowers! I didn't get any. I owe her!  I was worried about time. We got there so early. I was most worried about parking. Parked right across the street. Tomorrow I will post better pictures.

Yesterday was a good day....today I feel sick! Sore throat, headache, body ache and stuffy head! Yuk. Papa cleaned carpets yesterday so I have some cleaning to do myself today. I haven't had time to breathe and it is catching up to me. I have today and tomorrow I am off. So glad!!!!!!!!!

We went to Riley's game....Lauren had spent the night so she went with us and had so much fun with Jordy! They cuddled, had hot cocoa and papa bought them a candy bar, they went to the playground equipment....and then texted each other for 30 minutes after we all left.  I love it when the cousins have fun together! Jordy is awesome with her little cousins!!! I love her. I missed her!
Later Jordy played and won her game....real nail biter. Last game of the year. Papa and Lauren went and said it was SO COLD! The wind was whipping in their face!  Riley won her game to at the last minute.....they went undefeated! Good games girls. Lanny even got a little vocal!  The opposing coach came out on the field to get one of his players that got hurt and was yelling at the ref (an 18 year old girl) to call penalties or get off the G.D field. That spun Lanny up and he yelled at the guy to get off the field and to shut up!!!! Lanny hates when people use the Lord's name in vain!!!! Me too. It was bad enough but to swear in front of kids is really bad!  The girl on our team is very aggressive and should have been penalized for her actions. Apparently she has a bit of an attitude. hmmmm.  I am glad Riley got to have an undefeated season.

Going to either get started on my house....or get in my recliner and catch up on my television shows.....or go on facebook. Either way I am signing off.  Have a wonderful Sunday! We are going to Lanny's cousins for turkey dinner. nummy!

Thanks to all of you who still want to read this.... over 20 people. I feel so much better and secure knowing who is reading this!  Thanks for your understanding.

ruby red lips

The girls always have fun together! Goof balls!

Back to Monday. This week is Native American Week. Next week is the first Thanksgiving and Pilgrims. Then we will try to teach them what it means to be thankful.  Pretty tough for a group of 4 and 5 year olds but we will do our best. lol!

The girls and I went to WalMart to find shoes for Maddie. She needs little white Keds....not easy to find this time of year!!!!  So the search is on. Karla checked the shoe store already. I lost the girls. Or they lost me. I put them in my sweatshirt and zipped them together while they went to wash their hands (not far from where I was browsing). They didn't come back. I checked the bathroom, I checked Game Stop, I checked every aisle in the whole store (and that is a super walmart so it is big)... I checked toys, I checked books. I go up front and have "Maddie and Lauren" paged to the Game Stop. Here they come. Maddie almost starts crying when she saw me! They were getting scared too! We all prayed and searched....just in opposite sides of the store! I reminded them about the story I read to them with Ernie and Maria...where Ernie gets lost in the dept. store and after panicking he did what Marie taught him and went to one of the workers up front to page Maria.  That is what they should have done. But your first instinct is to search. It was mine too. Scary!

Then we went to the Walmart in Bremerton and stuck together. They didn't have any Keds either. Took Maddie to rehearsal....changed her into her pretty white shoes....and left her with her Big Sister.  Lauren and I went to Fred Meyer....no Keds there either. We took pictures of what Lauren wants for Christmas.  Picked up Maddie and went to my school! They were very helpful as I put up Indian and Thanksgiving stuff. It looks awesome in there. There was also a rotting pumpkin we threw away. ewwww.  Took the girls home and went home to rest. Caught up on Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, and Parenthood.  Love those shows.

Well.... papa came out of the shower and said we have a leak..... water getting on the bathroom floor from the wall. That isn't going to be cheap to fix!  Oh well.  Kevon is coming over tonight to check it out for us.

Hope you all have a great Monday and week to come!

Game, Party, Shop, Drop

Sunday morning!  Another busy day. Next week is Maddie's pageant.... so she has a two hour rehearsal today.  Don't know what I will be doing in Bremerton for two hours...but I will figure it out. I am also not sure if Lauren is going with me or not. We'll figure it all out. It is only 8:30. lol! We also need to go to my school and drop stuff off and go to Walmart. Fun, fun, fun!

I had Lauren all weekend .... we went and watched maybe 15 minutes of Jordy's soccer game. She wasn't on the field when we got there...then she played...and then they pulled her again. It was below 40 degrees and so Lauren and I left.
Lauren and Riley at the game!
We then went to the Learning Tree to get a few things for this month of Thanksgiving and Pilgrims and Indians and stuff.  Then we went to the Mall and got Anika's present.... then had to go to target for a gift bag and ran into Veronica and her mom. Had a snack and went to the pool. She swam and then they did the birthday party with pizza and all. From 12:45 - 3:00. Lauren spent most of her time on the rolling log. She crossed it twice! I paid her $5 if she crossed.... well I ended up paying her $10. Funny.
Those are fake glasses Lauren got yesterday to make her look smarter! lol
We picked up Maddie and came home. They had Spaghetti for dinner so they were happy.

Papa had his own kind of fun... went to Jordy and Riley's games, went to Costco with Tara and Jay, and over to Tara's.  Nice he got to spend time with her. :D
The girls video taped shows last night.
Well.... girls showered, ready to eat and we best take off! ;D Have a great day!

Beautiful Belle!

It is Thursday morning and I am off today!  I took the day off to prepare for court. lol! I actually have court today to fight that ticket for not turning on a turn signal. I don't think David Green (sheriff) is a liar, however, I think I figured it out. It dawned on me when I was stopped to turn and my steering wheel turned ever so slightly and the turn signal went off! Has that ever happened to you? Well, that is my defense..... praying it works. Because we both think we are right!

So far I cleaned the living room.... Maddie dusted for me!  Lauren loaded the dishwasher. I cleaned up the den...but now the girls are in there messing it up again. Cleaning my desk area and table again and then going into toy room AGAIN!  Lauren cleaned the bathroom too! Looks great!

This has been a busy week at school. Yesterday, this girl I know, Natasha Tucker, who also is Miss Poulsbo.... came to our school as Belle from Beauty and the Beast!  The kids loved it. Freaked me out because she was late...the lady who brings her had car trouble. I'm glad they made it!

The girls posed with Belle!

The girls interested in Belle's shoes!

All the kids with Belle!

It is so wonderful to have Veronica back.  She is awesome!  Now Hailley is back too... the teacher that left a few months ago!  I talked to her Friday and she wanted to come work some part time and they are going to have her on call. Since I am not there today.... Veronica is going to be the teacher and Hailley is her assistant! Praying all goes well!

Lauren spent the night last night and her and Maddie are staying tonight. Conferences so there is no school! I want to get that toy room clean so they have a new place to mess up!  Cleaning out closests because Ark is coming Monday morning to pick up clothes I don't want anymore. That is cool. We are having a big Halloween Party with the whole school Monday at 3:00. In the morning we go over to the Nursing Home and the kids trick or treat the Seniors! Should be fun!  I will be exhausted Halloween night.  No big deal.... the only trick-or-treaters we got last year were Lauren and Andrew, and Gregory and Cameron from next door.  So it's not like I have to wait up or anything for kids. Stew night again! Stew is always awesome on Halloween night. Num!

Well.... gotta get back to work. Want to surprise papa with a clean house for him when he gets home!  Been a while! lol!  Have a great weekend! xoxo

Monday, October 24, 2011

It is Monday. My weekend was busy. I was planning on staying home and doing nothing....like in not a thing. Plans changed. Papa picked up Andrew from the football game and he spent the night. Very pleasant surprise. Saturday....Went to Costco with Andrew and Papa and shopped and had Costco dogs for lunch. We took Andrew and a friend to Goonies (youth group at Normans) then picked up pizza and pop and took his movie and stuff and dropped it off at their house, got Laurens clothes and Sandy, picked up Lauren and Suzanne from her mom, they spent the night, Sunday Maddie came over and I took her to dance class and picked up chicken and Lauren and went to the corn maze and had fun. Took Lauren home and she wasn't feeling good. Then they played there for awile and I took Maddie home. whew!!!! Crazy. But I know how fast time flies and I cherish every moment with the kids because I know they will be grown with their own lives soon. It is already happening!!!!

This morning is good so far.... except that Lauren is sick. I could see it coming yesterday. She tried to have fun at the corn maze but she wasn't herself.  Papa took this morning off from Walmart and went to take Andrew to school, get gas, and bring Lauren here.  He is such a good papa. So that gives me more computer time and I've done some cleaning.

This week is Halloween week at school.  Pray it goes well and not crazy. :D  I have power.... I must remember that! haha!  Have a great week!

Here are some pictures from yesterday.

hay maze... not so much fun for them...

now this is more like it! the corn maze!

We ran into Anika's family (one of Lauren's bff's) and she went through the corn maze with us! Her little brother goes to our school!

Lauren is not impressed. She has roosters crowing all the time next to her house! lol!

I think they were surprised at how soft the cows were!

They ran right past the goats to the sheep!

Maddie loved the feel of the sheep and their wool!

They didn't pet the llama...this is as close as Maddie would get.

I don't think you were suppose to SIT on the pumpkins... but whatever.

Maddie has gone from not wanting her picture taken a while back to be a genuine poser.
Lauren wasn't feeling well and it showed by the end of the afternoon of running around.
