Monday morning....praying it is much better than last Monday.  I need to go in early and make copies for the week and get things ready.  We are planting flowers this week. Not too sure about if it will be today.  Tomorrow is the first day of spring.....however it snowed last night again! It is icy and frozen outside today. :(  What is going on?  Stinking global warming.
Anyway.... the highlight of our week is going on the ferry tomorrow.
My sister, Libby will meet us and give us the tour...up in the wheel house and everything. The kids get to drive the boat! That will be exciting. We are breaking into 2 groups because I think there will be a lot of kids coming. It is only my class but I have about 17 kids now...maybe a new one this week....and 4 coming down from the other center next month.  I must be a great teacher. lol!  People are hearing wonderful things about us...that makes me feel good. One new mom told me the other day.... she never worries about her daughter when she drops her off with us....because she knows we take good care of her.  That is one of the highest compliments we could receive.
Quite a weekend we had! Lets go back in pictures... This is our picture wall of all the kids
Our kids....more precious than gold!
We had some fun craft projects.....
Watercolor rainbows...made from koolaid and water...smelled so good up until Ella spilled on Abby. Can you say Koolaid Stain????

Writing about a dog and drawing a picture.

Rainbows made from froot loops!
Veronica making shamrock with their hand prints!
They also crushed up oreo's for our St. Patrick Day dessert!

The leprechaun dropped some gold on the playground....the kids found it and then made a trap for him for the weekend!

On a sad note..... one of our little girls moved away Wednesday. As usual....it is sad to see one of our kids go....
We have two fish in our school. This one hides down in the corner all the time. Everyone who sees it thinks it is dead. It isn't ....just unusual. We see it swim up to eat.

Friday after work....we went to a fundraiser and I got to see Kevon's band. It was so awesome. I can't even tell you how proud I was of him. First of all for doing the fundraiser and how amazing his voice is and how loved he is.  Made a mama proud.

So many people spread way back...taking pictures of the band.

Kevon talking with the newest singer in the band.

Another long-time friend of Kevon and lead guitarist Ryan McKenzie
Jerk (Jeff)...the drummer and Kev's best friend.

Coworkers Cherie and Veronica...see Ryan in the back ground! lol
Veronica and Karla (Karla wearing purple streak in hair for 8-year-old Amina Bowman who was shot at her school......this whole thing was a fundraiser for her.

Enjoy your week....gotta run!

Day of busy-ness!

Oh, what a day.  I feel like I spun my tires and went no where. Ever have a day like that?  Maddie came over this morning and we headed out the door to run errands. Got a bit of a late start. Picked up Lauren first.  Then we ran over to Bainbridge Island to see Maddie's art work in the Bainbridge Art Museum.  That was pretty cool to see it there!!!  The price is $75.00 to purchase her picture!
Lauren and Maddie (those are fake glasses Lauren likes to wear)

Maddie next to her picture

Her Grandpa Dave's house

I also ran into an old friend I haven't seen in over 14 years!  Her name is Charlotta.... she is Swedish and a chiropractor that worked in the same office I was a receptionist at.  We caught up on her life, my life and a little gossip about the other two chiropractors who worked there. One moved to California with his son....the other took off in the middle of the night outrunning the IRS and went to the Caribbean! lol!  Charlotta doesn't do Chiropractic work any more.

Then we went to Safeway.... couldn't find anything to eat... swung by McDonalds and got tired of the drive-thru wait so we left Bainbridge Island.
Went to Maddie's and got her fake glasses and her DS.
Next we got some Subway sandwiches and went to Lions Club Park. We ran into some friends Derrance and Jessica....and their little one year old Tyus.  So cute!!! He kept hugging Lauren and waving bye bye.
We went to the Library where I picked up a bunch of books for my school!  It was fun! And the highlight was I ran into one of my old students... Lyric!  He was at a table with his mom and another lady and I said "Hi Lyric... do you remember me?" and before I got the whole sentence out he jumped up and ran into my arms!!!!  I almost cried!  It was awesome! He kept finding me and talking to me. Also saw one of our kids, Sophia's, mom.
We went to Dollar Store and I got just a few things. Saw no one I knew there. lol!
Then we ran to Walmart and got some baby food for our school (taste). Doing the 5 Senses at school this next week.  Should be fun!  There were other things I wanted to get but couldn't find.  That is where I really felt like I was spinning wheels!  Did see Tamara Henry and visited and caught up on things. It was nice.
Even though I didn't feel like I got anything accomplished... I got some visiting in....touching human life is far more important than busy-ness.  Right???
At walmart Maddie bent down on a knee to look for baby food flavors and her knee must have landed on glass. It was a bleeder! It bled for over 15 minutes.  Of course we left and ran back to her house and Karla cleaned it up and dressed it for her.  Maddie figures a jar broke and it didn't get cleaned up all the way.  I'm sure she is right. SUE! jk
Well, that has been our day! Now they are having pasta with green salt (Parmesan cheese).

It was a pretty good week at school.  It was health week.
Monday we talked about nutrition and every day we went over the Food Pyramid and talked about healthy foods and not very healthy foods. It was fun and they retained what they learned!  We made mobiles with healthy food they colored hanging from them.
Tuesday was Exercise!!! Veronica led them in exercises, we talked about different ways to exercise and sang Row Row Row Your Boat. The kids also did Broccoli Art where they made paintings using pieces of broccoli!
Wednesday almost everyone wore their pajama's and we talked about how important sleep is for our bodies and minds and health.
They loved playing outside with their fruit balls (bouncy balls that smelled like fruit) in their pajamas!
Me and Ella

We did a cute project where they colored a paper bed, a quilt, a boy, girl and sleeping dog and we glued 3 sides of the quilt on so they could tuck the kids and animal in bed. They loved it!
Thursday was Groundhogs day so the kids used paper cups, a stick and a gopher and colored and fixed them up so the gopher could pop out of his hole. lol! They loved that project alot! The tooth fairy "Twinkles" also came and talked to the kids about dental health!  It was cool because Skana was with her (she is married to Brad Sloman....one of Kevon's best friends all through high school!) It was good to see her!

And Friday we did a recap of the week!  The day went really fast and we didn't have many kids. We played with the parachute outside. That was fun!

Well... enough of that. I only seem to talk about my grandkids and work. That is my life. And I love my life. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  We have church and not sure if we'll even watch the Superbowl. Papa doesn't really care about either team.  We were invited to Tara & Brad's but Papa can't turn the channel if he is there. lol!  They'll have more fun with their friends without us anyway.
It is also Brad's birthday!

Love to all and have fun celebrating to my bestie's in Georgia!!! Thank the Lord!!!!

Finally...pumpkin patch pics!

Well.... a few busy days for sure.  It is 5:33 a.m. and I am trying to work on this today! I don't even know how to catch up.

I a so happy Andrew spent the night.  Papa went to pick him up after the football game and brought him home with him! Such a pleasant surprise.  We watched some TV before going to bed.  I don't remember the last time we just had Andrew here. In the old days it was quite often!!! He loved coming to mam and papa's. Then along came the girls. lol!  And he started growing up and hanging out with new people.  I am just enjoying this time.

I have no plans today except maybe take out David, Alyssa and possibly Jessie for dinner. See what happens. You never know during the course of a day... and the changes it brings. For now I am chilling and going to catch up on some TV. And mostly catching up on blogging this morning... might do some house work if I get inspired.  I NEED a day with no specific plans. I have NO idea what papa plans to do. He burned the huge pile down from our tree trimming days last week. It is still smoldering.

School.  Hmmmm.... no changes except more kids and not enough help. THAT is making me crazy. I am frustrated and then the big boss lady comes in and says "This just isn't working for me!" duh!  It's not working for any of us. Let ME make the schedule! We will have everything covered. Found out yesterday something new.  Marcey is doing an article for the Insider (a newsletter for all of Martha & Mary) and she came in the kitchen to see what my title was on my name badge.... which says Site Coordinator... Joanna walks in and says no, she is Site Supervisor. What? When did that name change happen. She left and I just smiled. Whatever. All I am getting to do right now is be a teacher.  Weird how life works. When I was little I wanted to be a mom and God blessed me so much with more than I expected! Another time in my life and I wanted to have a desk, chair and work in an office...God blessed me more times than I expected!  Another time in my life.... I thought how cool it would to be a grandma.... and so God super blessed me with not only 10...but with the most amazing and beautiful and unique grandkids in all the world!!! I remember a time I wanted to be a teacher.... guess what? lol!  God blesses....don't ever forget that and remember to praise him!

Speaking of work... I wanted to post some pictures!

Our front door. I brought the sign, hay and pumpkins and someone else brought the corn stalks and Sarah brought the scarecrow. God brought the leaves. It looks welcoming!

This is in the hall outside our classrooms. It is the kids from Sarah's Junior Kindergarten class and my Preschool class.... aren't they cute little ghosts?  Before this we had a scarecrow and the kids were pumpkins! :D
I got Central Market to donate pumpkins and the kids had a blast hauling them around!

I got these Styrofoam pumpkins with some face thing's to poke in them like Mr. Potato head! They love playing with them!

We have a sensory bin in our classroom. It is for kids to play with things and handle things they don't always get to play with....and I change it up every week or so. Last week I put popcorn kernals and measuring ups etc... (corn theme)...this week I put in plastic packing poppers. They loved sitting there popping them. I think it calmed them too! Next week is fake spider webs with fake black spiders for Halloween week.
The kids playing in the cubbies....what a great idea! They fit, too! Now if I could just keep them there I would have it made! lol

On the bus heading to the pumpkin patch.... the bus is full but they are little and you can't see most of their heads! lol!
Me and the wanderers!  I hand picked these 3 because I knew I could hold on to them! They were tricky because they like to take off.

Our kids in the old barn that is 122 years old! It is an awesome barn! Love it!

Veronica with her kids.... I did end up with the one on the left. She is from Viet Nam, speaks broken English and doesn't understand very much or just doesn't listen very much! lol!

Petting the cows!

Sarah Burke (Jr. K teacher) with her group of boys!
On a hay pile....some you can't see!
This looked cool as you were entering.
Corn maze.... we didn't go in too far....thankfully!
Checking out chickens!  I've seen them my whole life, but some of these kids had never seen one in real life.  That goes for the other animals too!
Llama
This mama sheep walked away and bleated very loud at us. It was funny!

They got to play in a hay pile!

Petting sheep

And goats

Ready, set, go get your pumpkin!!!!!

They loved running through this trying to find their way to the end! lol!

Time to leave....
