Won't work :(

I am so tired this morning I just want to go back to bed. What a long night!!!

Yesterday we went to the humane society to look at dogs.  The first dog I was looking at was a jumper and would probably jump our fence. That's  not going to work. The second dog just came in as a stray so he isn't available for 5 days at least. There was also another dog that caught our eye. He has quite the face. I am not into scruffy looking dogs but I know papa is. So we went out to the play yard with him (me, papa, Dylan, Lauren, Ryan and Amanda) and he plays catch with the ball and was friendly. Seems good with kids. It was a hard decision. Felt some pressure to make a decision so I tried to make papa make it.  And he did. So we got him. He loves car rides! We took Dylan home and Maddie got to meet him. She loves him of course! He's not as big as Toby but not too little.

We get him home to find out he doesn't like cats. That is huge to us. Kitkat is now living here:

That is so not fair.  Kitkat will come down but the dog chases him. I am afraid he will hurt him. The dog doesn't like him.
We are going to have to take him back and I am so sad. Just a few minutes ago papa got on his knees by the couch to kiss and pet him and Vinnie growled at him. He is a bit territorial with toys.  We can't have a growling, cat hating dog. We've only had him a little bit and who knows what other bad habits this 5 year old dog has?  Good news is...he is housebroken and lets you know when he wants in or out by scratching at the door, eats good, likes to play with toys. Bad news is he's ripped apart two of Toby's old toys to get the squeakers out.

He'll scratch at the bedroom door to come in and jump on the bed to sleep with you! So we let him in with us and slept terrible with him stretched out between us. That is why I am so tired. He has separation anxiety. He seems to like me better than papa. But this is how he was last night. So sweet.

He is a total lap dog. He is in papa's lap right now. He is fixed but needs a trip to the groomer or a bath and a pedicure.
But I think he is going back today. We can't have him terrorize the cat. Now to tell Maddie and Lauren...who haven't had time to be attached. I'm a bit sad. Expensive lesson.
