I love Sunday's. Even though we haven't found the church for us right now (our heart is still at Silverdale Baptist but it is 60 miles round trip)... I still try to spend some special time with the Lord every day but especially on Sunday. I've been thinking about my blessing. Some days I get to thinking about the things and people who hurt me. When I do that it pushes all my blessings aside. So for now I have to let go of the people who don't care for me and focus on my blessings. We all have our list of family & friends on the top of our list of blessings. Plus the gift of Salvation is #1. But I want to share a few blessings I have been blessed with you may not know about. Only 5 so my Sunday list won't be long. And no videos. lol! In no particular order....
1. Laughter. I am so thankful and blessed when I hear laughter! It doesn't matter who is laughing but it usually catches my ear and make me smile. I just love belly laughs...the laugh that comes from the heart and the soul. Certain people have that kind of laugh...Kevon (my son), Rick Rayment (a friend) and others. And I love, love, love baby laughter. When I close my eyes I can hear every one of my grandkids and their laughs. They are so great!!!!
I can still hear my dad's laugh and see him wipe the tears from his eyes when he laughed so hard.
I can hear my mom's laugh...especially when you put it together with my Aunt Clarice and Phyllis Rayment.

| ok...phyllis and aunt clarice weren't smiling here but they usually were! |
Oh my goodness. You could hear them from anywhere. It was so funny! I love laughter. It is contagious.
2. I have been blessed with the smells in my area. Some days we can smell the salt water. Other days I can smell mowed lawn. I smell campfires from the neighbors who camp on weekends (Papa calls them weekenders). I smell sweet smells I cannot really identify in the fall. It is a mixture of flowers and trees. Some evening we are out on the deck and smell BBQ. mmmmm. We can smell the air after it rains and there is freshness to it. And Papa's cooking is always a great smell.
3. One of the greatest blessings is where we live. We live in the most beautiful area in the state. We are on the Olympic Peninsula. If you want to go to the city we are an hour away from Seattle or Tacoma. Seattle is a 30 minute drive to Bainbridge Island and then a 30 minute ferry ride which puts you in the heart of Seattle. Or drive south and over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and you are in Tacoma. We have views of mountains all around us.... the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Rainier to the east and the Olympic Mountains on the west. We are two blocks from the Hood Canal, which is a part of the Puget Sound, which comes from the Pacific Ocean. If you want to go to the Pacific Ocean you drive about four hours to the west. But to talk about just our neighborhood I will put pictures and show you our bridge (Hood Canal Bridge) views and views from our house.
4. I am so blessed with so much comfort in my life. I love comfort. So many people don't have a soft, comfy bed that they love to crawl into at night and reluctant to get out of in the morning. Especially when I have my electric mattress pad going. hmmmmm. We also keep a fan going at night.... all year long. It keeps the air circulating and eliminates night noises....even though our neighborhood is soooo quiet!!!! I have alot of comfortable places to sit in my life, but nothing beats our queen sized bed. It is a blessing to me.
5. Lastly, I want to mention different foods we are blessed with. We have blackberry season going on right now. That is quite a blessing and I have a husband who likes to pick them! In the fall there are apple tree's every where in this state! We love our apples! And we also have pear trees, plum trees, different berries, and amazing vegetables are grown around here! My favorite is the berries and apples. The pies, crisps, cobblers you can make! We don't make jam although a lot of people do. I guess what I am saying this is a great place to grow all sorts of food and we are blessed!
Have you noticed my pattern here? It is the 5 senses. Sound, smell, sight, touch and taste! All blessings from the Lord and I thank Him!!!!
Lauren spent the night and we had a good time. Stayed up late! Lauren decided it is her favorite time to talk. She cries and laughs and talks and talks and talks. It is just a very personal time for her. She asks lots of questions about school, God, life, family, and shares her feelings about it all. She is an amazing and smart girl. But it ends up me talking goofiness as I fall asleep. Lauren thinks it is pretty funny when I make no sense. We finally fell asleep. Me in my chair and her on the couch. haha! Today we went to Walmart and got a few things with papa and Lauren. We played cards a ton today too. Had a great day!
It's going to be a great week too.
