yay!!!! Today is Friday Five! I thought I would post the 5 movies that have really touched me in one way or another. Probably 5 of the best movies I've ever seen! They were movies that have never left my mind. These aren't in any order...just as I thought of them. If you have time you can watch a glimpse of these movies.
1. Sybil. A movie about mental illness and personality disorders (multiple personalities). Sally Field and Joanne Woodward were so amazing in this movie!
2. Schindler's List is another amazing movie! The Holocaust was one of the worst events in history! This movie made it so real to me. I had read about it and learned about it in school and even read the Diary of Anne Frank. But nothing brings it to life like this movie.
3. The 3rd movie I chose that impacted me was Duel. It isn't the most popular movie and I don't know why it made my list except that it scared me to death and every time we are out traveling that movie comes up in conversation. lol! Another Spielberg movie. I don't know that it opened my eyes to anything except to watch out for truck drivers! haha!
4. I chose St. John in Exile. It is an amazing one man play (Dean Jones) as John the apostle when he was banished to the Island of Patmos for preaching about Jesus. The Book of Revelation was revealed to him here. This video below is 90 minutes....you can just glimpse at some or longer. I put it on here so Lanny and I can watch it later. :D Dean Jones did an amazing job on this and opened my eyes to so much!!!!
5. One movie I have seen many times and still makes me cry is the Passion of Christ. It is bloody and violent, it will make you smile and cry, it is history. It is worth watching and I recommend it more than any other movie on this list. Sure it is a hard movie to watch, but the crucifixion is a tough fact to think about...that someone could go through such a terrible execution! But the sun (son) rises.
Well, those are my pick for my Friday 5! Some people post pictures of flowers, trees, sunsets, family...I just thought I would mix it up a little bit more once in awhile. It is hard but it is kind of fun! A bit of a challenge.
Plus my house is quiet. No kids today or yesterday. :( So I don't have much to post about life. Been trying so hard to lose weight. I may have to talk to my doctor about my medication and see if that could be a problem. I just can't seem to lose and I have changed so much in my eating habits and tried to ride my bike. I will just keep on keeping on and text my doc.
I put this on facebook when I woke up today:
Wow, I took a two hour nap and was sleeping so sound! I was dreaming we lived in our house in Poulsbo and I was outside talking to Rocky and Becky ( who didn't know each other) and I had to hurry in the house to get ready to go get Ryan at the ferry. I told Heather to go get their phone numbers so we didn't lose touch again. I went into the bedroom down the hall and Tara came in looking just like she did in high school! Walking out I asked if she would clean up the kittens puke. And then she asked if she should cook dinner. "I could make a little gravy." she said. lol! I was rushing out and told Karla not to fight with Heather. then I woke up. It was weird to wake up in this house over 20 years later. It was so real.....
Enjoy your weekend!!!!
