Missing my mama!

A local newsman posted this on his facebook.  It really described how I felt about  my mom and I wanted to post parts of it for Mother's Day!

This Mother’s Day will be a bit strange for me for it’s the first time I will not send my mother a Mother’s Day card, the first time I won’t pick up the phone and give her a call on that special day. Some of you are already are in that unfortunate, inevitable club. Some of you may have just entered into it like I have. It’s a hard thing to lose your mother, to know that the woman who gave birth to you, nurtured you, gave you comfort and direction as you grew up isn't around anymore to lavish you with the kind of love and attention only a mother can give. Even adult children need that. You wish you could say “thank you” and “I love you” in person just one more time, but you can’t. 
Mom passed away just over two months ago. It was hard to see her age, and hard to be so far away from her (she lived in Virginia). Dad used to say getting old isn’t for sissies and he was right. Living’s hard. One day she was with us, then the next she wasn't.
Despite time and distance, she was always with me…and in the end she always will be. So mom, since you’re still with me in my heart, happy Mother’s Day. There, that makes me feel a bit better.
For those of you who no longer have your moms on this earth, give them a big happy Mother’s Day greeting. I suspect they’ll hear.
For you whose mothers are still with you, make it the best Mother’s Day yet.
