happy birthday to me!

Well, it is here.  The big 59.  My last year being in my 50's. 0k.  Now I don't know what else to say.  Seems weird it is my birthday.  It seems like any other day.  Except my facebook is smoking.  Over a hundred birthday wishes.  Facebook friends and family are so sweet.

My first phone call today was from my sister Libby and she sang to me just like mama did.  We chatted for a long time.  Caught up.

I called my brother Doug back because he called while I was talking to Libby, which he said I should have taken his call because he is older. lol!  He made me laugh so much on the phone.

Then Kevon called.   He said Doug only beat him because of the time difference.  Kev did pretty good for calling me at 8:30 when he got home after 1 a.m.  He wanted to take me out to eat today but I wasn't feeling it.  Papa had just fed me breakfast.  He is making me steak for dinner.  And Kevon mentioned going to the Guitar store in Seattle with his buddies and I told him to go and have fun.  We always have Mother's Day coming up. lol!

Lois called me next and sang to me!  Mama taught us girls to do this.  My kids aren't passing on the tradition.  Of course, when Kevon called he sang the first line.  I said "Aren't you going to finish singing to me?"  He said, "I did!  I just wrote that song."  whatever.  Anyway, it was so good to talk to her. I love my sisters!  I won't hear from brothers Rick and David. Rarely do.

And Dylan called me from the Los Angeles Airport!  They were getting ready to fly home from their vacation.  He is happy to get back in his own bed but I am sure kind of sad vacation is over. It was nice he called me to say Happy Birthday!  I love that boy!!!!

And Andrew called!   It was nice to hear from him, too!

Karla just called a bit ago!  They are on the ferry coming home.  She said it was too hectic to call earlier with being at the airport and taxi and now ferry.  It was nice she called.

Finally!! I heard from Heather and her group!!! She worked today so they called later than I expected. It was worth the wait. They sang so loud and beautiful!!!  I loved it!!!!

And finally the last ones chimed in singing to me!!!  They were gone all weekend at Softball tournaments.  Riley threw her first no hitter!!!!! So proud of her.

 Her game was 5 hours away so we didn't go but sure would have liked to have seen it! All her games are far away.   I sure appreciated all the phone calls today! I know people were busy. xoxo

Ryan and Lauren wished me happy birthday when I called them and I got a text from Amanda! Not a bad day.

Yesterday was actually my bummer day. I totally had a rough one.  Lanny and I NEVER argue any more.  But we got into it a bit yesterday.  I felt like a loser. I felt like I was the most annoying person on the planet.  I knew I was loved, but not really needed or liked.  I go through this sometimes.  I cried for hours...literally.  Then Andrew called and tried to talk me off the ledge.  I didn't want to be talked down, I was having a private pity party.  I didn't want to talk.  He wouldn't let me go.  His heart was so in the best place and he really helped me tons.  I love that boy. I cried myself to sleep thinking about my mama calling to sing happy birthday in the morning.  I still miss her so much. I don't think a person ever gets over losing their parents.  I could hear her sing.  But today I woke up deciding I could choose what kind of birthday I would have....and I chose one of peace and joy.

Well, tomorrow is suppose to be a quiet day.  Cleaning bathrooms.  Yesterday was windows and today was floors.
We have the luxury of pacing ourselves.. Plus we need to. lol!
