Broken arm, baseball, breakfast and birthdays!!!

A quiet Sunday morning. Papa is sleeping in the chair, Lauren on the couch with Scruffy, and the cat has our bed. Very peaceful. It has been a week since I have written in here. I need to go back on what has gone on.

Monday night my allergies were acting up like they have been all week. This has been a bad season for me. I didn't go to any games. Papa rode to Jordy's game in Port Townsend with Tara. It was nice he got to spend some time with his daughter!  It meant a lot to him. Meanwhile, I get a call from my brother, David, who is at his daughters game (Alyssa) to let me know Carter (Alyssa's boyfriend) broke his arm! The varsity boys play on the field next to the varsity girls and David was a little freaked out. It was a bad break above the wrist and he was on the ground in a lot of pain for quite a while when the ambulance came. They got Carter in the ambulance and before they took off a foul ball came from the girls game and broke the ambulance windshield. Weird.  And Alyssa had to play on while he was being taken away.

Tuesday nothing much went on.  It was my nephews birthday. I think he is 48 now.  First nephew. His name is Ricky. Don't see him much. I am not even sure where he is living right now. Anyway, Happy birthday Ricky!

Wednesday I felt up to going to Jessie's game in Kingston. I hadn't been to one so I thought I would go watch her play.  I am sooooo glad I did.  It was in the 80's so it was warm in the sun and no breeze blowing. So I had my brother, David, go get the lawn chairs out of the van. We sat in the shade in a perfect location to watch the game.  It was awesome.  He went and talked to Jessie for a minute (he tries not to disrupt things) and we sat and talked and watched the game.  It was a good game and we had great conversation.  Was nice to get our relationship back to where it was.  I understand some things haven't changed but I love my brother and always will.

Thursday through the weekend Lauren got to spend the night. Her mom had to leave on a family emergency so we got the girl.  Scruffy has been very, very happy!!!! He is not sure where to sleep at night though. Divided loyalties!  He loves her as much as he loves me.

Papa is even in on the running because Scruffy licked his face yesterday. He has NEVER done that to anyone but me and Lauren.  So, Thursday night Lauren had batting practice and we made Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger for dinner because she loves it and her mom doesn't make it. Andrew came for dinner but he didn't eat much. I think it sounded better than it tasted once he started. lol!  He stayed for a little while.

Friday I took Lauren to school. We stopped and got a donut for breakfast and a lunchable for lunch. She didn't like the bean burrito school was serving.  They had cinnamon rolls for sale (pack of 4 - buy one get one free) so I did. One I dropped off with Andrew and took one home for Papa. After school I brought Lauren here to change for practice and went to North Kitsap High school. Jordy was playing a game against them there so we watched it and then she had practice. I left and Papa hung around until it got over which was really late (after 8). Of course she stayed to help clean up the field. Good girl.
My great niece, Taylor Ann, had a birthday on Friday. She lives across the water too. (When we say across the water, we mean Lynnwood, Edmonds, Kirkland, Seattle and area). She is such a beautiful girl and my facebook friend! Wish I saw these people more!

Saturday morning we went to a Pancake Breakfast!  It was a fundraiser for Jordy's softball team.  There was 3 pancakes, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and scrambled eggs. It was pretty good.  Tara sat with us and it was nice.  The girls were the servers.  This was Jordy and Melvin's 2 year anniversary for dating too!

Lauren tried to hide from the camera. Didn't work. bwa ha ha!
After breakfast we went to the "Challenger Buddy" game.  It is a game where our girls help and play with special needs kids.  We got there and it was raining so hard. It was cancelled because of the rain and how low the immune system is on some of those kids. Some of Lauren's team stayed and threw the ball around but we took Lauren home to dry off before her next game at 12:30.  Good idea too.  We got to her next game and it rained off and on.  The umps were there, our team was there, but the other team only had 8 players. So the umps left, the other team forfeited and it ended up being a scrimmage. It was fun for the girls and Lauren did good. She walked the first time and was put out stealing home. Second time up she smacked the ball and got a single and RBI. She got home safe that time.  We had more runs if they counted.  Only played 2 1/2 innings. Got home for the day by 2. Lauren took a hot shower and put her nightgown on. Lights were out by 9:00! lol!

A couple more games this week.  Season is starting to wind down. It is hard to decide what games to go to when they play at the same time.  Jordy has plenty of support but she is my grand daughter. Jessie and Alyssa has their dad when he makes it and their mom when she makes it... and they are my nieces. So, I feel torn. Lauren's games are always later than the other games and Riley's games are in different counties usually far.

Hope you all had a good May Day. No flowers on my doorstep.  I don't even think they do that anymore! Now Seattle has May Day protests and I am not even sure what they are protesting! I am not even sure they know!  It is so stupid!

Other happenings this past week...our Brittni got out of the military!  Yay!!!!! Thanks for serving Brit!

My grandsons are playing ball over in Eastern Washington.
Jared before his game

Joshua bring photo bombed by Patrick.
Andrew's friend went back to Florida. It was so nice meeting her, her sister and mom! Very nice people.

Maddie went shopping with her mom and got a beautiful new dress!

Prayer requests:
Please pray for Andrew as he tries to wrap up his senior year.  It should have been easy but it hasn't been and he could use some peace and wisdom.
Continued prayer for Marshall in Georgia. He is my friends brother and he is home from the hospital but he isn't totally healed so we need to pray for it.

Lots going on in your neck of the woods:) I love hearing about all of your family! It is hard to be in two places at one time! Marc and I have to split sometime if we have two playing at the same time! I hate to miss anything but it is impossible to be two places at the same time!

Thank you for praying for my Brother! He is healing but still need prayers:) Love you my friend! Enjoy your week, hope the allergies get better! HUGS!
