Presidents Day and all is well....

God is enough. It is well with my soul.  I am in a much better place today than I was yesterday.  I melted yesterday.  I am not bipolar or schizophrenic. I get into my head too much sometimes.  I get hurt so easy and sometimes make things bigger than they may be.  I try not to. I wish I was the kind of person that could just let things go. Not let anything bother them.  Papa is that way.  If someone doesn't call him or come see him or ignores him he just figures they don't care and he is ok with it.  But it took a lot of awful years in his life to build the wall he has up. lol!  An argument with him triggered it yesterday.  We NEVER argue anymore....haven't for a long time. After he left to go to the store I got physically ill with major stomach issues.  I had to cancel my dinner with David and the girls. I went to bed for almost 4 hours. I slept most of it. When I woke up I was feeling a bit better.  Andrew and Lauren came over.  He looked so handsome in a tie again. He was going to the 5:00 service then he and had a leadership meeting.  Lauren hung out with us. She has a way of making me smile.  My grandkids make my smile. I saw this saying and it is so true.
Last night I did my month long menu and grocery list for March.  It is getting easier getting a month long menu together. The only thing we ever run out of is milk and bread during the month.

Tomorrow morning I am cleaning my bedroom.  That is the truth.  Jael and her mom are coming this way again.  Next Sunday we are going to Makoa's birthday party! He is turning 4 years old!  Isn't that amazing?

He is growing up so fast!!!! These were taken last year at his 3rd birthday:

I am looking forward to it! So good to see them and lots of good food! Good times!

Well, today is President's Day! Here is what I found out about this day.
Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. Traditionally celebrated on February 22—Washington’s actual day of birth—the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents past and present.

It was hard to teach the kids last year about it at school. Did some pictures and crafts but it wasn't as exciting as Valentines Day or looking for Leprechauns. This is what I was teaching the kiddo's last year at this time:

The police department came and visited....

we went to the fire department....

my sister came and talked to the kids.....

and we walked down to the post office and the lady was not there to give the tour. We were so disappointed! It is one of those things "you can't go back".  I really miss those times but it is so different there now!  I really miss the kids. :D

Well.....Lauren has gone home. Maybe it is time for a nap.  I hope you all have a good day and week ahead!
