Happy Mother's Day! Weird week of birthdays, bruises, beautiful Madi and blessed day!

I almost forgot to post today!  Happy Mother's Day!!!! I love mother's day because I get to acknowledge how special so many mother's in my life are!  That included you!  I had fun to day making collage's for special moms! I will share them with you! The first one I love. It is mom with her 6 kids. How did she ever do it?
This one I made for my sister, Lois. I know she misses mom as much as me!
And another one for Lois with her mama and her 2 kids (little and older)
My great niece Brittni is a new mama this year!
Another great niece Denika is the mom of two now!
And of course I had to post my beautiful daughters with their kids!
Maddie made this for her mama! She picked out every picture and the banner. She really loves her mom!
Finally me and my mama!
We had a great day. I made deviled eggs and Lanny made his cookies and we took our lawn chairs and went to Salisbury Park. We met up with Karla (who brought 2 different pasta salads, watermelon, and chips), Joel (who bought me a beautiful hanging basket), Dylan, Maddie and her neighbor friend. Kevon brought chicken.  Amanda and Lauren came with the best strawberries, little cupcakes and beautiful yellow roses for me. Everything was so good! No one would let me take any pictures though. I don't know what their problem is but they are really boogers about it. They will be sorry one day. Besides that we had a lot of laughs and a great time! The girls loved the beach.  I am feeling a bit burned on my lip, forehead and right arm. It was worth it!  It was such a great mother's day. Miss my mom. Ryan called from California. I got the best card from Heather that made me cry and she called. Got a card from Jordy and Riley that was so sweet. They also called me after Riley's softball tournament. Riley did great and had fun!  Facebook, phone calls, cards, and picnic! Couldn't ask for more!

Well, time to go back on my week!
Monday 24 came back on! Love that show! Love my Jack Bauer!  Lanny and I made stew for dinner. It was a rainy day so it was a great night!

The worst day was Wednesday. Thankfully no pictures!  I accidentally let the cat out. Went out after him to try to get him in. At one point I saw him up on the front deck. Now in my mind I could picture me creeping up to him to scare him into the house. Now the way it turned out was nothing of the sort. I started off running/creeping toward the porch when I fell flat on my face in the grass. When I say face, I mean face!!!! My face bounced off the ground at least twice and it hurt my nose so bad. I thought for sure it would bleed but it didn't. I really hurt my left knee, too.  My ugly knee:

Papa was on the porch and saw the whole thing. (He was near the cat...why didn't he grab it?)  He came over to help me up (in his own time it seemed). I had tears and was hurting! I came into the house ....I mean I hobbled into the house, took off my flip flops and pants and got in my recliner. Papa got ice on it and gave me aspirin. There I stayed most of the day while different areas started aching on me during the next few days; back, right arm, hands, ankle, etc...  Today I am good. My knee is still bruised but I am great and thankful for my strong Norwegian heritage and that I drink milk everyday. Strong bones!!!!

Most of the week were really nothing days.  Rain rain rain. It was nasty. One day it hailed here! I wasn't home but Papa called me and let me hear it. When I came home I saw none until our road. Too weird!

Sadly it pretty much ruined my Rhody.  That made me sad.

Ok, whenever I come home this is what greets me. The dog is either at the bedroom window (we have to remove everything off papa's end table in the morning) or he is in the living room window on the back of the couch waiting for me.

Friday night Madi (notice she changed the spelling of her name) spent the night and she became his obsession. She went to take a shower and Scruffy was planted with his nose to the door waiting for her. lol!

Meanwhile we have a cat obsessed with this man!!!

She came out looking beautiful!!!! We spent the morning going to find her mom odds and ends for her mamas mothers day gift.

After we did our shopping we picked up Karla and went for pedicures! Oh, that felt nice!!!

There were a few birthday's this past week too!
My beautiful niece, Savanah!
My friend I used to work with...Robin!
My friend since 8th grade, Cindy!

Theresa from Georgia and her husband! She is one of my favorite people!

Brother-in-law, Kevin!
It is going to be a beautiful 1/2 a week here! Can't wait!  A couple softball games and it should be good!

That was the week that was. Hope this week is good for you! May God bless you!

Broken arm, baseball, breakfast and birthdays!!!

A quiet Sunday morning. Papa is sleeping in the chair, Lauren on the couch with Scruffy, and the cat has our bed. Very peaceful. It has been a week since I have written in here. I need to go back on what has gone on.

Monday night my allergies were acting up like they have been all week. This has been a bad season for me. I didn't go to any games. Papa rode to Jordy's game in Port Townsend with Tara. It was nice he got to spend some time with his daughter!  It meant a lot to him. Meanwhile, I get a call from my brother, David, who is at his daughters game (Alyssa) to let me know Carter (Alyssa's boyfriend) broke his arm! The varsity boys play on the field next to the varsity girls and David was a little freaked out. It was a bad break above the wrist and he was on the ground in a lot of pain for quite a while when the ambulance came. They got Carter in the ambulance and before they took off a foul ball came from the girls game and broke the ambulance windshield. Weird.  And Alyssa had to play on while he was being taken away.

Tuesday nothing much went on.  It was my nephews birthday. I think he is 48 now.  First nephew. His name is Ricky. Don't see him much. I am not even sure where he is living right now. Anyway, Happy birthday Ricky!

Wednesday I felt up to going to Jessie's game in Kingston. I hadn't been to one so I thought I would go watch her play.  I am sooooo glad I did.  It was in the 80's so it was warm in the sun and no breeze blowing. So I had my brother, David, go get the lawn chairs out of the van. We sat in the shade in a perfect location to watch the game.  It was awesome.  He went and talked to Jessie for a minute (he tries not to disrupt things) and we sat and talked and watched the game.  It was a good game and we had great conversation.  Was nice to get our relationship back to where it was.  I understand some things haven't changed but I love my brother and always will.

Thursday through the weekend Lauren got to spend the night. Her mom had to leave on a family emergency so we got the girl.  Scruffy has been very, very happy!!!! He is not sure where to sleep at night though. Divided loyalties!  He loves her as much as he loves me.

Papa is even in on the running because Scruffy licked his face yesterday. He has NEVER done that to anyone but me and Lauren.  So, Thursday night Lauren had batting practice and we made Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger for dinner because she loves it and her mom doesn't make it. Andrew came for dinner but he didn't eat much. I think it sounded better than it tasted once he started. lol!  He stayed for a little while.

Friday I took Lauren to school. We stopped and got a donut for breakfast and a lunchable for lunch. She didn't like the bean burrito school was serving.  They had cinnamon rolls for sale (pack of 4 - buy one get one free) so I did. One I dropped off with Andrew and took one home for Papa. After school I brought Lauren here to change for practice and went to North Kitsap High school. Jordy was playing a game against them there so we watched it and then she had practice. I left and Papa hung around until it got over which was really late (after 8). Of course she stayed to help clean up the field. Good girl.
My great niece, Taylor Ann, had a birthday on Friday. She lives across the water too. (When we say across the water, we mean Lynnwood, Edmonds, Kirkland, Seattle and area). She is such a beautiful girl and my facebook friend! Wish I saw these people more!

Saturday morning we went to a Pancake Breakfast!  It was a fundraiser for Jordy's softball team.  There was 3 pancakes, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and scrambled eggs. It was pretty good.  Tara sat with us and it was nice.  The girls were the servers.  This was Jordy and Melvin's 2 year anniversary for dating too!
Jordy

Lauren tried to hide from the camera. Didn't work. bwa ha ha!
After breakfast we went to the "Challenger Buddy" game.  It is a game where our girls help and play with special needs kids.  We got there and it was raining so hard. It was cancelled because of the rain and how low the immune system is on some of those kids. Some of Lauren's team stayed and threw the ball around but we took Lauren home to dry off before her next game at 12:30.  Good idea too.  We got to her next game and it rained off and on.  The umps were there, our team was there, but the other team only had 8 players. So the umps left, the other team forfeited and it ended up being a scrimmage. It was fun for the girls and Lauren did good. She walked the first time and was put out stealing home. Second time up she smacked the ball and got a single and RBI. She got home safe that time.  We had more runs if they counted.  Only played 2 1/2 innings. Got home for the day by 2. Lauren took a hot shower and put her nightgown on. Lights were out by 9:00! lol!

A couple more games this week.  Season is starting to wind down. It is hard to decide what games to go to when they play at the same time.  Jordy has plenty of support but she is my grand daughter. Jessie and Alyssa has their dad when he makes it and their mom when she makes it... and they are my nieces. So, I feel torn. Lauren's games are always later than the other games and Riley's games are in different counties usually far.

Hope you all had a good May Day. No flowers on my doorstep.  I don't even think they do that anymore! Now Seattle has May Day protests and I am not even sure what they are protesting! I am not even sure they know!  It is so stupid!

Other happenings this past week...our Brittni got out of the military!  Yay!!!!! Thanks for serving Brit!

My grandsons are playing ball over in Eastern Washington.
Jared before his game

Joshua bring photo bombed by Patrick.
Andrew's friend went back to Florida. It was so nice meeting her, her sister and mom! Very nice people.

Maddie went shopping with her mom and got a beautiful new dress!

Prayer requests:
Please pray for Andrew as he tries to wrap up his senior year.  It should have been easy but it hasn't been and he could use some peace and wisdom.
Continued prayer for Marshall in Georgia. He is my friends brother and he is home from the hospital but he isn't totally healed so we need to pray for it.

Busy and beautiful week with Senior Prom

It has been a busy and beautiful week!  Pay day so we went grocery shopping and paid the bills. Not that it is so beautiful but since it is only once a month it is nice when it comes. We try to go out to eat and we went to breakfast at Elmer's in Poulsbo. It is a fairly new restaurant and they make pretty good food. I had french toast and sausage. Nummy.

Thursday was busy. Lauren spent the night on Wednesday and helped me take the animals to the groomers.  The cat had his nails done and Scruffy had it all done (bath, haircut and nails).

Doesn't he clean up nice????
Got Lauren to school on time too!  Swift Plumbing came and fixed our faucet...gave us new ones! My shower works awesome now! So happy!  I love Swift Plumbing! I love Cal and Bev!

That night Lauren had a game. Lauren plays 3rd base most of the time.

Friday Papa went and had the oil changed in the car.  I took lunch to Lauren and the girls. I love doing that soooo much! We all laugh and have the best time!  There are a lot more girls than this but these are the ones I caught before they left for recess.  Lauren's besties! Love these girls!!!!!!
Lauren's besties Suzanne, Lauren, Kate, Natalia and Kayla.
That night Lauren had another game! It was on B field (the only field with night lights).  Lauren pitched for the first time.  She didn't want to do it but she did. And she did really good.  This video doesn't show it but she did good.

I don't know who was more nervous...Lauren or her Papa!

Lauren came home with us after the game. We didn't get home until 10!  Slept pretty good.

Saturday was busy too. Papa took Lauren to her game while Amanda helped Andrew get ready for Prom.  His friend came, Giulia (pronounced Julia) came up from Florida with her mom and sister for prom. She is a sweety.

The pictures I am posting are some I took, Amanda took and Annie took.

Lauren really wanted to be there for the pictures but she had a game. Andrew and Giulia said a greeting for her.  So sweet.

This one is Andrew with two of his best friends Vicky and Mary! They have gone through a long four years being best friends.
My niece Alyssa (David's daughter) went with her boyfriend and I got these pictures off facebook. She is so beautiful!!!

She is so beautiful and reminds me of my mama.

We went to Lauren's game. Papa, Tara and her family were all there already.  Lauren did really good. The other team outplayed them (they seemed much bigger and only had 8 players. I think they were from Gig Harbor).  Lauren was only up two times and the second hit was quite the wallop. But it ended up being a fly ball. :(  So proud of her.  Uncle Brad thought she did good too!

Got home and papa made burgers while I watched our Family Funniest Video.  Trying to figure out how to put it on the computer to share. I smiled the whole time and cried a bit too. Weird to see mom, dad and Donnie on the video. And the kids as teens, grandkids as babies. What a blessing that video is. My cousin Bob made the DVD from a video I made.  I lost mine but Tara still had a copy.  Great evening.

I should go to church today but we are just chilling with the dog today.  Praying for Marshall. He is Theresa and Cindy's brother, Kelly and Suzanne's dad (they all live in Georgia and have become dear friends and blessings to me and I love them all).  He is in ICU and have had trouble with diabetes. He needed a miracle.  Doing better now.  Still praying.

Going to be a busy week of games. But the weather is suppose to be awesome!!!! Can't wait! We love our sunshine!  Hope you all have a great week filled with sunshine, laughter and love!!!!
