Broke and broke.....

Thursday already.  I didn't even realize it until I was talking to Karla on the phone. She has the day off on Thursdays. That means Friday is just around the corner!!!! Yay!

I am sitting here watching American Idol from last night. The big old "fight" they had been talking about between Nikki and Mariah wasn't that big of thing!!!  I think Mariah is actually kind of catty with her little comments under her breath. She is boring too.  And why did Nikki take over the show?  She talks more than anyone else. Everyone is annoying me on one of my favorite shows and now it isn't one of my favorite shows.  Makes me kind of sad.

I am so tired of being broke. Seems like we just got paid and all our money is spent.  Isn't that a country song? lol!  It seems like things always come up when you have a few extra dollars. I am so thankful that we have the money for what we need. Not so much our greeds....but our needs. And I am happy.

Well....I mentioned grandson Patrick hurting his finger at basketball practice.  come to find out he broke his finger and his growth plate. Not a good thing but at least he didn't nee surgery! He does have to wear a cast for 3 weeks.

I wanted to post this just because I thought it was sooooo cool! How clever. I cannot do veggie or fruit art but I think it looks pretty cool!

And here is someone wearing my fruit basket.  Not sure what he is doing here but he is being a goofball.  lol!

Well.... I guess I don't have much else to write about.  The weather is warming up into the 40's which is always good.  I guess it isn't going to snow. Of course, winter isn't over. Sometimes we get snow in the February.  I don't think we're going to see it though.

Have a great weekend and I will touch base again in a few days!

Martin, Music, music, and sleeeeeep

It is Monday morning.....Martin Luther King Jr. day.  It didn't mean as much to me until I taught my class about him last year.  I learned so much preparing! Of course they were too young to understand everything but I could teach them the simple things. How he had a vision about how this world could be.  What is funny about it is that children that are 4 - 6 years old don't really see color. That is one of the beauties about children. There is no racism or hatred. They forgive so quickly. When do they learn to b mean and bullies? I don't know. I know where they learn alot though....home.
At school we were all one. White, black, Vietnamese, Hispanic, Filipino, Chinese, Hawaiian  mixed races, all races.....we were all just one... children of God.  That is a major thing I love about kids this age!!!!

I miss all these kids so much!!!!

Anyway, this is what I think about when I think about Martin Luther King Day.

It's been quite a few days.  Jael has stayed in Lauren's room since Thursday. She is coming here tonight to stay a few weeks. Saturday night was busy. I picked up my sister, Lois. We went to Manette and watched Jael sing. She did awesome.
Andrew waiting for his girlfriend to sing....

Getting prepared....

#1 Fans

Jael Johnson on stage...
There was a family there with 2 little kids who watch her on You Tube and a huge fans.... they took a picture with her. It was so cute.

Then we stopped in Poulsbo where Kevon's band was singing for the drummer's sisters birthday  Only stayed for 3 songs. It was pretty loud but my son rocked it. lol! Totally different atmosphere.
Kevon...the only one going with the Hawaiian theme! Nice hat.

Look...there I am .... clapping my hands (you can see me back by the orange wall clapping my hands!

I got home by 11:15 but couldn't go to sleep until 1 a.m....woke up at 9:00!

Then last night we had Maddie and Lauren spend the night. They slept in our room and we slept out in the livingroom. For part of the night and then Lauren took the couch and I went and slept with Maddie. Since the cat we don't really have a great sleeping arrangement when the girls stay over.  Even before the cat they were afraid to sleep in the toy room.... then they were afraid to sleep in the den.  Don't know what is going on with them but they need to toughen up. There is nothing to fear!  Kids.

Well, I read Heather's blog today.  What an inspiration my daughter is!  I am glad I read it.  I hope you all get a chance to read it.  It's her crazy life. lol!

I really need to get off here and get this place cleaned up while the girls are destroying (playing) in our bedroom and papa is outside.  Good time to clean. A few pictures I took lately....
Joking around and put half my face on and left the other half bare. lol

Before going out Saturday night.

Have a great Monday.... it will be a short week....hopefully!

Lots of different stuff.....and she's back!

I keep thinking that by having snow people and snow coming down on my page will help it to snow in real life.  We haven't really had much snow this year to talk about. I would love to see some.... just for a weekend. That would be nice.

Kev's birthday was nice... even though the Seahawks didn't win for him. They let him down. We were proud of their season....for sure!!!  So he came to dinner  on Monday. He got his favorite.... sweet & sour chicken wings and julienne potatoes. He loves those.  Took some home too.

We had a great visit.  I love when our kids come over just to visit. Oh, that's right... they don't. haha!  They don't even call to say hi or visit. Wait, Heather does. And I talk with Amanda quite a bit.  I called Karla yesterday and asked her if not calling me was her New Year's resolution.  She said "I call you when I need something!" Silly me... what was I thinking? Lol!  I posted this on Facebook  Pretty funny...but true.

I love my kids and I "get it" that they are busy. I remember raising kids and teens. I remember all the sports and busyness. But I also remember calling my mom at least once a week during that time.  Just to see how she was doing. Let her know how I was doing.  Just to hang up saying I love you. Sure wish I could do it again today.

Well, my hair is growing out and this seems to be my new style?  Not only is my hair growing out.... the gray is too.  Longer than I have ever done before. Trying to decide whether to go au natural or wash that grey right out of my hair.

Look how the cat lays into his beard. He loves papa so much.  I don't think he is that into me. He sure loves his cat tree....but yesterday he got his back leg tangled up on the string holding the toy.  He was fighting me while I was trying to get it off his leg. Could have been bad had I not been home.  Did he show any gratitude for my help in saving him? no way.

Got Jael's room ready for her again. Rearranged a little bit too.  It looks presentable and I think she will like it.  We picked her up at the ferry this morning. Her train ride is only 13 hours! That surprised me. I thought it was longer! It was so funny because she wasn't suppose to come until tomorrow....and was going to surprise Andrew. Well....Papa and I went to McDonalds to wait for the ferry and I took this picture of Papa. oh...he is looking old. Maybe i should color my hair. :(

Anyhow..... I sent this picture out to show how much fun papa was having and Andrew text me back that if we would hang out for about 50 minutes he could come have lunch with us.  Well, of course we would!!!  Plus by the time he was to get to McD's.... Jael would be with us. So she surprised him when he walked in there!  His face was great.... huge eyes, jaw dropped and the big smile!!!! I wish I had taped it.

The pictures came back from their photo shoot in Seattle.  Great pictures!!!! I will show a few or so:

They could be models, I think.  That one black & white one where they are crossing the street look like a paparazzi shot.  They look famous.  Wonder what people thought in Seattle of the pictures.  That must have been a long day.

Well.... some sad news.  My sweet grandson was geared up and ready to start basketball season tonight.... even dressed up for school like they are suppose to do on game day.

Patrick's little finger on Tuesday after practice.  :(  Heather posted this today:
Well, Patricks first game is today and he went and broke his finger and growth plate, so off to the orthopedic surgeon next week :(

Basketball looks like it is over.  Same thing happened during football season but it was his foot!  I am heartbroken for him. He loves sports.

Well, I best get dinner started.  I hope you all have a great weekend coming up! I will have more pictures and hopefully some video's on Sunday!  Lois and I are going to see Jael sing and then stop in Poulsbo to see Kevon sing this Saturday night!  I am excited!

RIP Dear Abby

til later......
