Life is a blessing!

My memory photo is my beautiful daughters when Karla graduated from high school!

I woke up happy! I am not sure why except I know I have been blessed. I have been feeling it more and more lately. When I left Walmart yesterday I felt blessed to drive such a nice, smooth, comfortable vehicle. I called papa and thanked him! (with my ear piece, of course! Our law changed a week ago against cell phone use). This morning I am sitting here at my computer. Sure, it isn't sunny out... but I have my companion and protector, Toby, sleeping behind me. I can see my independent affectionate cat sleeping on the back of the couch. My coffee tastes so hot and good. Life is wonderful!

Yesterday was a great day too! I got a call from Lauren before school. She kept leaving clothes in the dirty clothes hamper for papa to wash. So she wasn't taking them home! I had a pile stored up and Lauren told me if she didn't get them "today" that she'd never get to come over again. Not exactly what her mom said.... but you know Lauren! lol! I promised her I would bring them.... to calm her down. And I did... I took them to Amanda's work. We visited for a bit... it was nice. Saw Bill & Judie (my sweet Mary's son and the owners of the business). Went upstairs with Judie to her office and talked for awhile. I miss Mary so much.
Then I took Maddie's clothes over to Karla's. Karla gave me some chicken to take to mom. Karla only lives about 2 miles from mom. I went to visit mama next! We had a really great visit. I left and got us lunch and we visited a bit longer. Watched the preschoolers below. Mom pointed out the little trouble maker boy in the class so we kept our eyes on him. Watched a cop parked by the 4 way stop... fun to see how many people noticed him and stopped all the way. Usually people kind of coast through them. lol! Then mama got tired and went for a nap. I went to walmart for a couple necessities.
I was pretty tired out when I got home. But I am not complaining... I am feeling better finally. My eyes are almost healed too! Fish Oil is great!

Last night I took out stew meat. I decided to make rice and pour the meat over it somehow. Called some people that cook with rice often (two Filipino's and one whitey) for advice... I wanted the meat really tender. See... I know I am not a very good cook. I don't really like to cook so I never put much thought into it. Plus, I am Norwegian. We like white food. I talked to Amanda, Angela and Meghan. Dinner was fabulous! I ended up putting flour, meat tenderizer, garlic powder, pepper, onion seasoning into a bag with the meat and shook and pounded it and shook and pounded it. Then put it in a pot with hot grease and cooked it. Then i added water and it made a gravy.... then I added more water and soy sauce. Simmered it for about 2 hours and poured it over a plate of white rice and it was wonderful!!! Meat was so tender! I can't believe I made it! Probably needed onion slices but it was really good. Thanks ladies! Plus I got to talk to 3 girls I love! Nice bonus! Angela is going to share some recipes with me!

I have a fear of being fired. I am insecure... in case you haven't figured that out. I haven't always been that way... I used to be brimming with confidence!!! Not so much anymore. I told Angela that I worried about it after the bridge incident last week. She laughed and said no. She remembers when she first started to bring Makoa over and he hated car rides and fussed and cried when she would leave him here. Now .... he gets in the car, jabbers all the way here, and when he sees my porch smiles and laughs! Barely says bye to his mom now! That made me feel good. And a bit more secure. I love that boy! Love the whole family!

Had a good talk with my son, Kevon, on the phone. I don't see him often.... he is working all day! He leaves early and comes home late... sounds familier! My hubby and son-in-law are doing the same thing! Kev is the boss man at his work now... plus works side jobs after work. He is very good at what he does. I am proud of him and it was so good to talk to him.

Then there is Karla.... she makes me laugh! There have been a few break-in's around their neighborhood... teenage stuff. So the sheriff told her to keep her garage door closed. I asked her if she told Dylan... she said NO!!! Dylan wouldn't sleep at night if he heard about it! lol! Sometimes he will sleep with weapons by his bed.... just in case! So typical Dylan! Then there is Maddie. I laughed so hard last night... on face book Karla wrote this:
This morning after doing Maddie's hair in what I thought was a really cute way she said "Mom, you just don't understand beauty."

Well.... Papa is in a meeting all day today so I won't be talking with him. How many times a day do you talk to your spouse on the phone? Papa and I talk at least 4 times or more a day on the phone. We call each other during the day and when he gets to WalMart he calls and when he is ready to come home. When I go somewhere I call and tell him. We talk more on the phone than in person! lol!

Mom is at the doctor again this morning. Her pulse rate was at 118 yesterday morning so she felt encouraged it was going down. That is good! Praying it still is... will keep you posted!

I am in a chatty mood! Best stop and put up my 3 things; Andrew's devotion, pic of day, and friend of the day! God's blessings to you for a great day! xoxo

Andrew's Devotional: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
Andrew's thoughts.....Whenever you are stressing out about something, stop. Ask the Lord for an abundantly flowing river of peace to calm your nerves and relaxation.
