GETTING BETTER!

Well, look at me!  Another post in the same month!  I am in a pretty good mood this morning.  I have decided to take over my life.  After all... no one else is going to do it.  I could sit here and wait to die, or I could improve my situation.  I love my family more than anything and they care about me so I need to be here for them, for my husband, and for my doggie.  Scruffy adores me and waits so anxiously for me to come home or even come out of the bathroom. lol!  He would be devastated if I didn't!

GYM:
So we have started by joining the YMCA!  Karla has been bugging me to go with her and I put it off. I guess I was scared because i am so out of shape!  Finally we went as Karla's guest and it was OK but I wasn't quite sold.  Probably because me, Madi and Lauren did the pool but it wasn't worth getting wet because the only section opened was the river and kids area.  Then we got home and I went on line and checked out so many things.  I noticed a picture on the site of a man with a walker!  That excited me because when I checked the place out with Karla my back was killing me walking around. Now that I know I could take my walker I was happy.  Then I also noticed the 16th was the last time you could sign up for the Y without having to pay the fee! So, I contacted Kevon and he said to go for it!  He wanted to pay for our gym membership because he wants me and papa healthy.  So between Karla and Kevon.... they got us in the gym.  And I really like it!  There is one piece of equipment I really like which is like a bike but you use your arms too.  I went 1 mile in 15 minutes the first time and then 2 miles in 20 minutes yesterday.  There is also a rope pull thing to strengthen your arms and shoulders I am going to start using tomorrow.  Papa is going to try it too. Right now he has been walking the laps.  He did 8 laps the other day!  The track goes around the gym on the upstairs level and you can see everywhere when walking.  He loves people watching so it works for him.  He likes it.  I am proud of us and Karla and Kevon told us they are proud of us too. It seems like a long time since I made anyone proud.  These photos are off the web because you can't take pictures inside the gym.

ALLERGY?
Another thing I am figuring out is my congestion problem. I have problems with allergies and it drives me nuts... the plugged head, ears popping, eyes watering, wheezing, trouble breathing, etc... Well, I have figured out what the issue is.  Milk.  I went without and noticed the difference in my breathing.  If you know me at all... milk is my favorite drink in the world.  I think I may have to give it up.  I have cut back to almost nothing and drinking water.  I especially don't drink it at night or with dinner.  Oh well, whatever it takes to get to feeling better.  I wish I liked wine. haha!

Of course there are other changes I need to make but I am taking them as they come.  Improving me.  After all, if I don't do it who will?

BASKETBALL:
Went to Lauren's basketball game today.  She played well and the team won. At warm ups (halftime) she was doing free throws and made 4 in a row!  Pretty awesome.

We have a couple other basketball players in our family playing too!  Joshua and Jared are both playing.  Josh is playing Junior High Ball.  When did he get so old?  lol!

MORE GRAND KIDS:

Madi got a haircut.  I took her in after school since Karla worked and it is so cute.  Sassy just like her!  Madi is just a beautiful girl anyway.

And her brother Dylan is growing up so fast. Work and college and gym.  Keeping busy.  Plus he is working on his 2nd book.  He is so handsome!  Karla and Joel should be proud.  I know they are.

FOOTBALL:

I am sad the Seahawks are out of the playoffs.  I am always a Hawks fan!  I love my guys.  I am just a bit frustrated with the Offensive Coach, our offensive line (or lack there of) and other things I don't think we really deserve to go all the way.  I am not a traitor.... like I said I am a Seahawk fan!  But since the Hawks are out of the running GO ATLANTA!!!!  We all want to see them win the Super Bowl!

EXTRA STUFF:

Many people don't know this but I have another recipe blog.  It is  http://langagerfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com/

I have to say that I am a happy American!  I am so thrilled with our new President.  I really believe him and his cabinet is going to change this country for the better.  I see my grandkids are going to live in a better world.  I have hope again!

I also want to share something else that makes me happy!  It is a Christmas gift I got from my grandson Jared.  He painted a picture and I am in love with it.  It hangs up by our fire place!

Speaking of fireplaces here is Kit Kat's favorite place to nap right now.  Cats tend to change their minds quite a bit in finding favorite spots. Once it gets too warm he will get down and go to our bed. After I go to bed at night I usually sleep part of the night with the cat on one side of me and the dog on the other side.  Lanny sleeps in his chair over half the night and then the dog and cat both want to sleep between his legs. lol!  They don't like to share papa.

Well, I am done for the night!  Have a great night and day!  I am praying all my Georgia friends are fine with all the storms right now!!!  Love you all!
