Here is a map of our trip. We start up by Port Hadlock and drove down the orange road on 101...cut across towards McCleary to Ocean Shores. Then from there up to Lake Quinault to Queets and Forks! Then home through Port Angeles! Just in case you want to follow us!
We're baaaaack!!! We did our mini vacation and it was nice to go away and nice to get home. Some parts of the trip were awesome...some a pain. The pain was Scruffy. Whenever the van door opened you NEVER saw a dog fight so hard to get out! He wanted to be with us everywhere. Which was fine in most cases but Rhonda's we did want to bring him in. Well, here are pictures Dylan took! He did a great job. Him and Lauren were taking a lot of scenery pictures...not many people. Dylan forgot his memory card so he had to use mine out of my camera.
Here was our first stop. Lake Sylvia. We used to come down here and camp with the kids. We picnicked here. The girls played. Dylan strolled and took pictures.
Sad thing was we noticed they don't rent boats anymore. Unless they put the signs and boats and all away until summer. Whatever. But the camping spots seem bigger and they have power and water now. I think we would love to camp again.
Got to the ocean. Yahoo!!!! Our room wasn't ready. So we went down to the ocean and the girls played.
The sand was really stirred up because the water was really dirty.

| Scruffy wanted to go with them so bad.... |
| So Lauren took him. See him backing up away from the waves? He didn't like it! |
| He calmed down after that and didn't want to go with them. |
It's all about creating memories and having fun!
We stayed here at the Shilo Inn...
| Papa and I had the closest bed, then Maddie and Lauren, and Dylan had the couch in the other room. (The room also had a sink, frig, table and chairs, micro, fireplace and tv. There was 3 tv's! One in the bathroom too! At least Dylan got to watch his seattle mariner's win the game! :D |
| The girls swam in the pool a couple times! They loved it! Indoor and heated with a hot tub to the left. |
| Part of the lobby. |
| There was this weird store the kids walked over to. Expensive touristy thing. |
We had fun in the hotel. Papa had a cough and didn't sleep well. Not good. We decided to skip breakfast and head up the highway towards Forks! We headed up the highway to Ruby Beach. So beautiful. Had a picnic lunch here.
| This was a weird pictures! We could not figure out what it was. It looks like a star wars creature to me! |
Then we headed up the Hoh Rainforest
| We didn't see this character (Mick Dodd) who is on National Geography and according to the Fork's residence is nothing but a fake. His parents lived in town but they don't know where the rest of the drama comes from. |
| Lauren got some great pictures of these clovers...it is on her cell phone. I need to get them. |
| Oh...we didn't see this guy either. We looked though. lol! |
There are such huge trees up there! This big stump was pretty cool!
| We saw this pregnant elk. |
| And her husband! Dylan was loving this and got some great photos! |
| Finally made it into Forks! Went and got settled in the one bedroom trailer we borrow from our niece Hilary. I love it! I took the kids to the park for awhile. They liked that. Then we went to Rhonda's (Lanny's sis) for some awesome Clam Chowder, Lasagna, salads, rolls etc.... So good! We all got full! |
| Jace (our great nephew) in the chair was very, very tired and shy. So I put the kids behind him and snuck a picture before he buried his head. Behind him is cousin Carter and Savanah, Maddie, Lauren, and Dylan! This is at Rhonda's. |
| Then we went to Grandma Deannie's for cake and ice cream for Rhonda's birthday! |
Back at the trailer. Dylan and Maddie took the hide-a-bed and Lauren had an air mattress on the floor. All were comfy. We had the bedroom. But papa coughed so much he hardly slept. :(

We did see Bella's truck. We didn't do the "Twilight" tourist thingy. Been there done that. Dylan and Maddie drove around to look at the library and where their grandparents used to live but I think they were a bit disappointed how things have changed.
We went to Rhonda's again in the morning for a delicious breakfast of rolls, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and juice. It was a great way to start our day!
We left and drove straight home. Stopped once at Lake Crescent and in Port Angeles for pictures and water. Then we got home. The kids were missing their parents and were tired. Scruffy has slept non stop. The cat has been whining. I lost my voice and have been coughing. Papa is still coughing. Glad we went. Glad to be home.
