van, girls and kevon's bday

It is a beautiful Saturday!  The sky is blue and the sun is out.  But roofs were frozen and it was cold this morning!  I think I need to get out of the house today.  It is such a gorgeous day and I love my new van so much it would be nice to go for a ride or drive.  I love how my phone plays my songs through the van.  I have named my van.  It's name is Vanna White. Get it?  So, I think we'll take Vanna out today.

I would take Scruffy too but he doesn't ride too well.  He doesn't know how to settle down.  We learned that when we took Dylan, Madi and Lauren to the ocean and then up to Forks for Spring Break. It was a long haul and a pain in the keister with that dog.

I've been doing really well on my eating. I rarely have milk or bread. I haven't had any potatoes, pasta or rice.  Trying to cut way down on my carb intake.  And it has been a week today and I have lost 5 pounds! I am happy.  What is better yet is my blood sugar going down.  My problem now is trying to balance my blood sugar.  It is so hard keeping it even. I've been as low as my 50's which is not good. It is suppose to be between 70-140.  So I have to keep it there.  It's so worth it though.  Karla, Kevon, Amanda, Lauren and Papa have all cut carbs too.  Praying for our health!

Lauren's been home from Arizona for a week now.  I am so happy to have her home and she is happy to be home.  She loves her bedroom, dog, and mom.  And her band, friends, etc.... I didn't see her until Tuesday.  She loves us too. And driving.

On Tuesday Papa had been gone all day.  Lauren had an orthodontist appointment in the morning. Then he had an appointment with his cardiologist, Dr. Johnson.  He loves this guy and visa versa.  Papa stopped at the store on the way home and by the time he got home he was tired.  So I went and got Lauren from school.  We decided to go to the store for frozen berries.  Lauren called Madi to come with us. KJ dropped her off with us in Safeway.  I got some cheese and chicken meat to bag up for snacks.  The girls were hungry and decided on going to Silverdale Panera.  Lauren had a salad with Broccoli and Cheddar soup while Madi had the soup and grilled cheese sandwich. I had nothing.  Oh, wait, Lauren got me some water.  haha. It was just nice spending time with the two.

I tried talking with Kevon on the phone today.  We were hoping to have a dinner for him tomorrow for his 41st birthday but he doesn't want to. It's every year thing he turns me down. We were talking on the phone a little bit ago and he got a call and still hasn't called back.  I just have to remember not to take it personally. He is a busy guy. I am so stinkin' proud of the man he is.  He is a hard worker who partnered with his best friend to start their own business with over 20 employees. He is doing great career wise, financially, and he is incredibly funny and handsome.  And he loves his family and is so good to his friends.  I will call him tomorrow to wish him a very happy birthday!

I'm still trying to make sense of my new iPhone I got for Christmas.  It is hard and I don't know how to do some stuff yet. My computer is getting confusing too.  Maybe it is just my brain lately.  I used to be so good at figuring things out.

I don't know if I am making sense since I am watching tv as I do this. I don't think I have much more to write.  Life has been peaceful and quiet, Thank God!!!!

January 3rd, HAPPY NEW YEAR

Good morning!  It is the 3rd of January and a Thursday.   It is suppose to be windy the next few days and we are really praying we don't lose power. I think we are going to get a generator one day.  That is how much I hate power outages.  I would prefer it over an air conditioner in the winter.  So that is one of our goals.  And of course to get healthy, fix up the house, yada, yada, yada.

Happy New Year to you!  I always get anxious when it is a new year not knowing what the year holds.  I have to remember that God knows and he can handle thing.  It's called faith. Faith and Prayers is what Lanny and I count on in life.  God has been so good to us!

Lanny and I had a delicious Turkey dinner on New Years Day.  When the gravy turns out perfect it makes the dinner awesome.

Yesterday we took our decorations down.  Usually we don't this early but we heard storms were coming so Papa decided to take the outside ones down and it got me going on the indoors.  It's didn't take too long for me either. Papa took the lights off the indoor tree and that is what took time. lol!  It was a good day.

I am very happy with my new phone now.  I've never owned an iPhone before....I only had my samsung. It does some things that are pretty cool. But I am still figuring it out.  Thanks to Kevon I got my music from my computer to my phone. I also got the ringer working. lol!  Those were important to me.  I am still working on learning all there is to know. Here are a couple taken with the new phone.  Papa and Madi.

Been spending my morning watching Animal Cops.

Lauren will be home in two days and on Sunday she is suppose to sing in church so we'll be going to watch her.

This year will be interesting.  Scruffy has a tumor on his belly we need to get it checked out.  I think we will be leaving Poulsbo Marina Vet Care. The owners were the vets we knew and trusted.... they sold the business.  We had heard Big Valley Pet resort owner retired and the new lady is really good. I also heard they are expensive but so is the one we were going to before.  We just need to get the tumor taken care of.  We love our Scruffy!  We were thinking about Sandy today.  Sure missing her.

This is short compared to last time. I pray you have a blessed and healthy New Year!

Christmas 2018

Well, Christmas is over for another year.  And this was such a wonderful Christmas!  Everyone was there, including Jordy and Tyler!  I was so surprised they came and so happy!  So all the grand kids were there!

We also got a picture of the 10 with Jordy's husband Tyler and Patricks girlfriend Maddy.

I have some wonderful pictures that Heather took with my camera. It was so sweet of her.  She knows how valuable pictures are to me and how everyone grumbles and complain when I take them.  I love action shots and my family loves poses.
Anyway, Amanda made a wonderful dinner of Prime Rib!  Added side dishes topped the meal!  Papa made cupcakes and we sang happy birthday to Jesus!  Lots of presents, visiting and laughter!

Dylan't 2nd book is out and he gave an autographed copy to Patrick for Christmas!

After Christmas at Amanda's we packed up our stuff, Riley, Lauren, Madi, Joshua and Jordy and went to our house for the Christmas sleepover! It is getting a lot smaller now but we still had fun! We played headbands, Lauren played her guitar and we sang Christmas songs, watched Elf, and then went to bed!

Papa made a huge breakfast with bacon, pancakes, eggs, and hash browns!  Madi had given Lauren a Bob Ross waffle iron (inside joke) so papa made the waffles too!  It was a great time!

So the rest of my story besides Christmas will make this longer but since it is MY blog... that is ok.

I went to the Dollar store to get stuff to store the kids candy in for Christmas and stuff.  I couldn't believe how difficult it was. My back was hurting so much and my frustration I was practically in tears. But I got done.

Friday the 14th we sent Mac to the groomers for a bath. We had them for the weekend and we had Lauren and Madi over night on Friday. First we went to lunch at Pho Kim Chi for lunch which was really good. I couldn't eat much because my stomach still wasn't back to normal.  Lauren had to play band at a basketball game so Madi and I watched tv. Then they stayed up late as usual.
Saturday Papa made Madi's favorite breakfast for her. Later she went home and Lauren went out with Jolie to make Christmas cookies etc...
Lanny had 2 appointments for his eyes and they did some laser surgery to help it.  He also had blood work done and now he needs to get a colonoscopy.  Which I am still talking him into.  He doesn't want to do it.

Lauren had her concert. I felt good enough to watch it.  Amanda and Leah were there.  It was nice. No solo for Lauren but her baritone saxophone is pretty loud so it seemed like a solo at times. lol!

The power went out on Thursday, the 20th for 5 hours.  That kind of sucked because we couldn't go anywhere since they shut the bridge down because of the winds.  Pretty nasty our.  The power came on in time to heat up our stew and have dinner!  The power stayed off at Lauren's all night so she was grumpy the next morning.
Friday Scruffy went to the groomers and got a bath and haircut. He looks so awesome and cute.

On Christmas Eve we just lazed around home and then went to Amanda's on Christmas day after everyone called to wish us a merry Christmas!  Amanda made Peppered Pork, Mashed potatoes, Rice and Broccoli casserole, Asparagus, Green Beans and poke cake for dessert. Nummy dinner as usual.
We got gift cards, an awesome print I loved framed.

Papa got a Dutch Oven that is so heavy and I got a iPhone.  I haven't quite figured it out after taking it to the at and t store.  He supposedly transferred my stuff over but all I can find is phone numbers. No pictures or music.  I guess I have a cloud account I can't find either.  I am so lost.  Amanda is going to help me with it

Lauren is down in Arizona for Christmas break visiting her dad. Praying she is safe and having a blast!  Madi went to the AT&T store with me yesterday and then we came to my house for "A Knight's Tale" and tv.

Well, New Years Day we are having a turkey dinner! Just because we didn't have any for Christmas.  I pray you all have a blessed 2019! Thanks for taking time to read this.  I love sharing about my family!  Love them so much!  Love the Lord and thank Him for 2018 and our family!!!!
