Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!!!! Some of my favorite dad's are posted above! They take care of the most precious people in my life!  And they do an amazing job!

Father's day does make me a bit sad...even though he has been gone for over 8 years now.  I don't buy a father's day card or make that morning phone call on Father's Day morning or have the barb-b-que that dad loved. So I get a little sad.

But I am thankful Lanny is here and is still a good dad and papa.  He may not be the perfect dad (never met one) but he loves his kids and grandkids so much. He is so incredibly proud at who they grew up to be and he prays for each of them every single morning without fail.  An amazing man.  He was there to share important moments, help them, play with them, teach them, eat with them, fix things for them, cook for them, coach them, and clown around with!

Top Ten favorite smells and I go BOOM!

Well, here is what I came up for the top 10 list for today!  I decided to go with one of the 5 senses and I went with smell.  I thought it would be fun to put my 10 favorite smells!  See how many you agree with!  These aren't in any time of order.

1.  Fresh cut lawn.  Papa cuts it alot so I get to enjoy the smell.  I especially love it when it is in the early spring...one of the first times when it is sunny but a bit chilly outside. You open the windows and inhale...

2. Turkey cooking in the oven!  Anytime of year! It gives me that cozy, homey feeling inside. The one that makes you safe and happy!

3. The smell of babies after their bath. They smell clean and cuddly and sweet (if anything besides sugary things can smell sweet...babies do!)

4. Bacon! Who doesn't like the smell of bacon?  I like it the best when we camping.  It smells so wonderful mixed with the fresh air.

5.   A bakery.  I know that is pretty general, but when you walk into a bakery there is nothing better.  I love the smell of Chocolate Chip cookies, Bread, Maple Bars, and everything else that smells so good!!!!  pure sugar and bread smells

6.  I love the smell of Beans and ham soup cooking.  With home made bread. Mom used to make it and now I do and I love it! It was dad's favorite dinner.

7. Suntan oil!  Can't use it because I can't be out in the sun like that anymore but I still love the smell.

8. Apple Crisp! I know most of my smells are of food, but what can I say?

9. Campfires! I love walking around a campground and smelling campfires. Smells so good!

10. Finally, I have to put Christmas Tree's.  Real trees. I haven't had one in years.  We use artificial or fake. We use it because it is cheaper, it doesn't die when I put it up in November, there is not a needle mess. But I do miss the smell.

Well, that is it!  What a fun Tuesday. Maybe next week I will do stinky things!

I have to tell you what happened to me this morning.  Crazy!  I was getting in the van and forgot my cell phone. I met papa at the steps on the porch and after I took it from him I turned to go to the van when I twisted my ankle and toppled towards the car (about 6 steps)...momentum got me and I kept going forward and landed on papa's car! Thank God it was there to stop me or I would have face-planted it on the pavement. I didn't dent his car but I stung my hands. I had to laugh. It was one of the most ungraceful moves you could imagine. I get my clumsiness honestly. Look at my poor mom....
