Softball, scenery and .....sweetheart!!!!

Tuesday afternoon and is siesta time around the old casa.  Papa and both animals are asleep. Looks like a great idea to me. :D

Thought I would do a quick post.  I posted two days ago so there is not alot going on.  Yesterday was Riley's game.  The weather was so perfect and beautiful!  Loved it!  They played so well. Riley got a great hit!  Her games are the farthest to drive.  All the moms of our grandkids always say "Thanks for coming!"  We do it because we know it means something to the kids and because it is our pleasure to watch them play! I love the games.  It is so exciting to watch them learn and have fun!  Tonight and Thursday are games but they are on Bainbridge Island and we decided not to travel there this season. So tonight we are just relaxing.

It was another beautiful drive home.  This morning was a bit cloudy but still pretty.  My rhody is blooming like crazy!!!!!
My rhody
Loved the view of the water this morning...it was like a pinkish purple sun was shining on it.
Mt. Rainier from WalMart

I don't know why things look so beautiful but camera's really can't capture God's true beauty of his creations.

This morning I went to Walmart and got Papa a few new T-shirts and a few bra's for me. Got some food and then went to IGA for some meat.  Came home and chilled on the deck for a bit. Papa moved the picnic table back there and I love it. Can sit with my coffee and computer and pajama's! lol!

Sorry I don't have much more that I can think of.... but I do want to mention my Georgia friend is having a birthday on Thursday! So if you know Theresa... drop her a happy birthday!!!! Heck... if you don't know her drop her one anyway. Her ganky website is on my page on the left side!  She is a sweetheart!!!!

Haha....whenever I hear the word "sweetheart" I think of this video:

i laugh now when I watch it. The littlest thing... like is Mam (me) a sweetheart or not?????? I love when I am asking Maddie to apologize Lauren has to get just one more "sweetheart" in there. lol!  Love me some babies!!!!!

Have a good week and happy birthday Theresa! God bless you and keep you!

This weather is awesome to spend with family!!!!

My Heather checks this every day so I thought I should at least post more. At least try to post more.  It's been a pretty great weekend. Especially in the weather department! Loving the sunshine!  It just makes everything so happier!!!  Friday we picked up Lauren and went to see Jordy's last game.  I don't know how much she saw of it because she got busy with Riley. So hard to get a good picture of them! They were happy to have time together.  They don't get that much time together.  If it wasn't for Mam & Papa I don't know how often the cousins would get to play together!

Could not even get a good picture of Jordy.  She is in the red socks.

This place is huge.  Down there is where we sit. I am up in the balcony because those bleachers kill my butt and back.

Just a few random photo's of our Kitkat thrown in the mix....

He is turning out to be a pretty cool cat.  He has mellowed so much; hardly ever bothers Toby anymore so Toby doesn't react to him anymore, he can't get out of the back yard so far so he is being good, and he doesn't get bored like he used to and attack me....when he comes inside he is tired and goes to sleep. lol!

I love the Northwest.  For you people who don't live around here.... a few scenery pics:
In my van!  Nice weather!!! The sticker has a history...I would point to it and say "What time is it?" And the kids and myself would yell "It's smiling time!!!!" They're not so into anymore. Dylan never was! I did it to bug him!

Kevon took this.....look at the background of the water, land and mountain! Awesome!

And I always love the bridge we cross every day! So many great views.
Ok...back to the weekend.  Saturday morning we went to watch Ryan play in his tournament and it was so hard to get moving!!! Especially Lauren. We stopped and got her some shorts because the weather was so awesome. By the time we got there Ryan had played two games!  The next one wasn't until the afternoon. So we left Lauren and went and picked up Andrew.  We took him to Chimicum Cafe for lunch.  It wasn't that good.  We shared a French Dip and the meat and au jus just wasn't seasoned at all.  Disappointed.  Then we came here so he could hook up my computer to my TV and teach me how to do it.  I went to take him home and he jumped in the drivers seat.  He did really well after scaring me by tail gating first!!!!  I hate that!!!!  He was laughing at me but at least he listened. So many young people do NOT follow at a proper distance. Don't know what they are teaching them out there!  I sound like an old curmudgeon! lol!
Went to Lauren's game in the afternoon.  I hate it when we play the island. They play so weird....the way they position the girls etc... Our team won by a landslide. Lauren did good.  Came home and papa rubbed my feet with lotion. That was nice. I feel like I am retaining water.

Got to see the beautiful pictures of Jordy going to her freshman dance. She looked really pretty and grown up!  Tara asked me not to post any pics so I won't. You will have to believe me that she was gorgeous. I cried when I saw the pictures because I still saw the little girl behind the make up and dress. It makes me said how quickly she is growing up.  She has been dating Melvin for a year already!  I had a special moment after the soccer game with her Friday night. Just got to hold her on the bench and that was very special to me. I love her so much! My oldest grand daughter....my princess.

Today is my great niece's birthday...Savanah! She is 13

And Thursday was my other great niece's birthday.... Taylor!

Today I sat out on the deck listening to Praise music, praying, riding my bike, playing on my laptop, drinking coffee, watching the animals and enjoying my life. Papa and I have a pretty peaceful life. And I love it!

And last but not least.... this is how my son likes to spend his time in the sun with guys from the band...

I hope you have a great week ahead! In honor of shrimp season starting yesterday I am off to make some shrimp scampi!

It is already May!

This year is going by so fast! It is true the saying "The older you get the faster time goes!" Because it is going crazy fast.  It has been over a week since I wrote in here and it sure doesn't feel like it.  Now I have to remember what happened the past week! This is my diary too, after all.

Let's see....last Papa planted some trees (bushes). Thursday Lauren had a game. It was a good game but really cold again!!!! Took forever to warm up!

Friday.... I took the cat to get his nails clipped again! It is alot "funner" to play with him now.  (I know, I know....it isn't technically a word.)  That night Lauren and I went to the fundraiser for Lauren (a girl who has breast cancer). It was a beautiful night.  Here are a few pictures....
Manda to this picture...it is so cool!

Kevon's band

Kevon

Lauren and Meghan's grandparents...love them so much! He is standing and she is sitting.

This place packed out.... people ended up standing!

So many things for the silent auction.

Lauren
Lauren looked so beautiful.  Both Lauren's.... lol!  I wish I would have got pictures of them! We got home about midnight.  We had fun and I am pretty sure they made a ton of money for a worthy cause! (Not all these pictures are mine, but I stole them to post so you would get a gist of what it was like)

Saturday was a pretty quiet day. Got woken up by Kevon calling. It was 9:30 in the morning.... I never sleep that late! He was on his way to the ocean to clam dig. We talked for quite awhile and then I got out of bed. haha. Went to Walmart and met Ryan and dropped off Lauren with him. She went and spent the night with a friend.

Sunday we went to watch Lauren play softball again.  I love watching her play. Not a fan of her coaches but love to watch her.  So we always sit outfield and not in the stands.  Don't worry....she can hear and see us! lol! What made it funner was bringing Maddie and Dylan! And Andrew was there for most of it before he went to church.  We bought some nacho's, onion rings, curly fries and candy to snack on.  I only ate a few curly fries and gave the rest to Andrew.

Monday morning I got to sleep in a little bit and woke up to the weirdest weather! I could hear the rain hitting my window but it was sunny out....and I could hear the wind chimes going like mad!  A bit later I was sitting out on my back deck in the sunshine!  I baked chicken for dinner and then Papa and I went to watch Riley's game!  She pitched the last inning.  I couldn't help but laugh because she grunts every time she throws. It is soooo stinkin' cute!!!! I love that girl!

Riley's dad...coach Brad!

Riley warming up to pitch!

Riley pitching with concentration!
It was a fun game and we won!

Tuesday was a big day for our daughter Heather!  She passed both her tests and is now a NAR (Nursing Assistant Register).  So proud of her!!!!  She still has the state test that is 8 hours before she becomes a CNA or NAC.  But she will do it!

Papa took the car to Kia to have them check it out.  The noise it had been making wouldn't do it for papa or the service guy (of course) but they checked it up one side and down the other!!!! Found nothing. It was perfect. Oh well.   Then Tuesday night we went to another game! Lauren and Maddie's team played against each other.  I didn't watch the score.... I cheered them both on. It was kind of tough. But fun to watch them both!  They are both soooo cute!!!! Uncle Kevon came to watch the girls, and Don and Lois came.  There was drama with the coaches and ump and stuff.  But the girls had fun so that is all that matters!!!!  Lauren ran and hugged Maddie after the game. And they cheered each other on during the game. So did the parents. I love family!

On Wednesday it was May Day!  To me it means little kids dropping off flowers on your porch and ringing your door bell and running away!  But in Seattle it means protests.  So stupid.    Speaking of protesters ... Ronnie came over yesterday and pumped our septic tank!  (Good lead in....haha) It had been 7 years and it was so awesome to see Ronnie!  I have known him for over 40 years! Before he came over we had a busy morning.  Well, not so much me but Papa and Ryan worked themselves tired!  They dug up the hole for the septic tank. They put a fence up in the very back (it had a fence but the cat could get through, now he can't.) Ryan cut his arm. :(  Then they cut down a tree down in the back. The chainsaw kicked back and cut Ryan's t-shirt!!!!  Could have cut his belly!!!  That kind of scared me. But they got the tree down and cut up! Papa was so sore we missed Riley's game and I made dinner for a change.  Let him just rest.  It was exciting to see Lauren get to go to her first Seattle Mariner baseball game at Safeco field in Seattle. They were given some awesome tickets down the front along the 3rd base line.  She was on tv several times.  Ryan took some pictures I want to share. She was one happy girl!!!!!  What a great daddy date!

Lauren and her daddy at Safeco Field!

Signed by the ball girl and given to her!!!!

She got up and went to school but wasn't too happy about it since she got home around midnight.  She will never forget this night.

Have a great weekend coming up....we have games coming up everyday from Friday through Tuesday!  We'll be busy.  But happy!
