Speaking of work..... I continue to look for work at different places. I am realizing how hard it is with this back. When I worked teaching.... I cheated and sat a lot whenever I could. I had to rest my low back. Every job I had I was in pain. When I worked at the gym...I would hurt while cleaning it...not so much while I sat. Even when I worked at the doctor's clinic I would hurt if I had to walk to another section of the clinic.
There are several reasons I have back problems:
1. Car accident where my car went up on it's side.
2. Down-rigger falling off a shelf and hitting my head sliding down my back.
3. Years of chiropractic treatments every week... sometimes every day for 7 years. I just don't think that was overly good for me.
What have I done for it?
1. I have done chiropractic treatment, massages, acupuncture, physical therapy, walking, drugs, almost anything you can try.
Now, what can I do for it?
1. My back was worse when I weighed less, but I still must believe if I lost some weight it would help.
2. I need to do some strengthening exercises. Which I worked on when I worked for the gym....and it didn't help.
3. Will never do surgery.
I really wish I didn't hurt so bad. I know people think I am lazy and fat. That if I would just get out there my back pain would vanish. Not true. I am fat. Maybe lazy at times. But I would love to be able to go for long walks. I love walking. I would love to go hiking. I pushed myself so hard to hike with my whole family to take my parents ashes to Elkhorn Campground. I missed a blessing and a time I can never get back. I cried! Camping.... I miss the blessings of so many things. It isn't because I am fat and lazy. It is because I have so much back pain after walking a short time that I end up stopping. When I am shopping and I push the cart or lean on it I am ok. Maybe I need a walker with a seat like mama had. But I am not old enough for that. Maybe losing weight would help. I am working on it. I could go on but I won't anymore.
Basically what I am getting to is looking for work is so hard because my back cannot handle most jobs. So it is hard. My complaint for the day.
Since I used my one complaint I cannot use it towards the cat. So I will put up some cute pictures I took today...
Toby may not think he was so cute today. He's being kind of a booger! But I finally got a picture of them together. haha!
Yesterday I went to WalMart to pick up a package of presents. I love shopping online and getting great deals! I only have to go to Walmart and they have all the presents gathered for pickup for me! No searching the store for things I cannot find. Great shopping! Ok....maybe I am a bit lazy. haha! A few things will be delivered to the house in the next several days and I will have everything. Going to wrap what I have today. Not a big fan of wrapping gifts. Wish I had someone crafty to do it for me. Mine are just wrapped. Nothing fancy.
We had bean and ham soup yesterday. I let papa make it. Next time I will make it. He put too much water in it (kept adding water) and lots of pepper. Not good. I am glad he cannot taste because he will eat it. He tried. Usually he is a good cook. He is making the cookies for our cookie exchange on Saturday.
