random dozen just for fun.....

1. Which Wizard of Oz character are you most like? I'd probably say The Cowardly Lion. I am scared of noises, the dark, being alone, snakes, heights, speed, carnival rides, some clowns and gnomes, mice, etc... plus I am sure some think I could probably use a brain!

2. When you're deciding what you're going to wear each morning, which item do you select first? Why? Pants... then find a shirt that matches. I don't know why.... just usually my way.

3. What kind of animal do you think the world could live without? Anything slithery. But I hear they serve some kind of purpose. So if they could just stay out of my part of the world I would be good with that. And misquitoes. Have no idea what purpose they serve so I think they should go... camping would be nicer.

4. How many Christmas trees are in your home? I have one big one in the living room, a small ceramic one Doug and Betty gave me, the girls decorated a small one in the toy room, a little wooden one I got from Gin Duchemin one Christmas, and I have one that comes to life and scares you to death and sings to you! That one is unplugged at the moment.

5. Would you prefer to be emotionless if it mean you didn't have to feel a heartbreak? No. Without heartbreak, we'd never know joy.

6. Do you ever experience holiday let-down or depression? Yes.... especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.... our family Christmas is already past and everyone is off enjoying Christmas but me.... so that makes me sad. But ya put on a happy face and remember the reason!

7. Do you like Michael Jackson's music? Yes..... some of it is great... some not so much. I love his dancing... he was amazing... except that hand thing he did... not a fan.

8. Why is it that we never judge people who have their teeth fixed for cosmetic reasons, but every other cosmetic procedure has a stigma? I don't. If your teeth are straight they are easier to floss so less decay... common sense. Some procedures make people look worse that before.... face too tight, breasts too large, and .... I am not a fan of the lip botox . It looks bad and fake... like Priscilla Presley made a mistake doing hers. Just personal opinion.

9. Enjoy horseback riding? Not even a little bit.

10. Shoes--practical or stylish? I hate shoe shopping and go for practical. No one looks at my feet anyway. I don't look at others feet. I couldn't tell you the type of shoe people in my own family wear!

11. What was the name of your first pet? Feel free to post a pic. Our dog Lucky was a great one.... but it was more the family pet. My very own was Daisy. She lived a few houses over with a crazy woman (no lie... she would lay in the rain with only a dress on) and Daisy kind of adopted us. When the lady's son came home we asked if we could keep her and he said yes.... his mom was going to a home anyway. So Daisy was mine! She got her name because she followed me around like Daisy in the Blondie cartoons.

12. What percentage of your Christmas shopping is done? That would be 0% .

Cuz we need a little Christmas.....

Wow..... I slept SO good last night! I don't remember much of nothing! Went to bed around 11 and woke up a little past 8! Thank you, God! Thank you prayer family! The Christmas clock is going off with "Silent Night". I cleaned my dresser off and did some more laundry before heating my coffee and sitting down here. All is right with the world. :D I also got a sweet note from papa. And the sun is shining again today!!!! It is beautiful! It's a great day to be me.... even with this cough. Yesterday I was very tired.... called and wished my Becky boo a happy birthday and we talked for quite a while! All is well in Oklahoma. That's a very good thing!
I don't have much to say... so this is it!
My memory picture of the day was taken 12-02-04 of Joshua's first meal.

And a few pics without dates to get you in the Christmassy mood!
Andrew in 2002.... missing a few teeth! lol
Parker and Patrick and Jordan in 2000!Our prayers are still with the family of the slain Lakewood police officers. Hard for them to have the Christmas spirit when they just lost their loved ones, I imagine. The man responsible is dead also. They have at least 6 people under arrest for helping him run and hiding him the past few days. I watched this young woman on the news yesterday (a friend of his) ranting and raving on how he helped everyone anytime and that is why people helped him when he needed it. She said given the opportunity she may have helped him too. First I got mad... then I sat and thought about it. It is weird to hear her voice the thoughts of his accomplices. To try to understand what they were thinking. I can understand doing ANYTHING for my loved ones.... but on the other hand... he killed 4 people.... ambushed them as they were having coffee. You know it's not going to turn out good. If I couldn't talk him into turning himself in I would do it for him. What would you do? Or need I ask?
Well..... on that... have a good day and God bless you all!

If you can't read it is : God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph., a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." -Luke 1:26-28

The girls were playing in the toy room with a small nativity scene and Maddie asked who this was (holding up the angel) and Andrew said "Gabriel." It touches your heart when your grand kids know these things.

Weather To Expect:
Put on the extra layer and keep the ice scraper for the windshield handy, we are off to a very cold start with temperatures in the 20s and 30s as you get out the door. Plan on areas of fog around the sound with some icy spots possible on your morning commute. The fog is gone by the afternoon with plenty of December sunshine today. Look for highs in the mid 40s this afternoon.
Another round of morning fog with some more cloud coverage tomorrow. A disturbance moving out of British Columbia will bring the clouds on Thursday, but we do look to keep it dry. There is the chance of an isolated shower later Friday and into Saturday morning.
For the upcoming weekend, we will be keeping the cold air around, so plan on high temperatures in the low 40s with overnight lows at or below the freezing mark through Sunday.

Happy Birthday Becky-boo!

Sometimes it snows December 1st! Here is the first snowfall of 2005!

And again on December 1, 2007..... now if it is coming every other year.... where is it today?

Happy birthday to our little Becky-boo!
Today is our niece's birthday! She is also our God-daughter! I want to wish her a very happy birthday today and let her know I love her very, very much! We got to see Becky every time we went to see Lanny's mom because she grew up next door to Ma! She had a very close and unique bond with her Grandma. Her and her husband and two beautiful boys live back on the property next door to her parents.... Jim and Rita. It is awesome! I miss her very much! Calling her this morning. She goes in for surgery tomorrow so please keep her in your prayers!xoxo

I read Michael Clemmons.... the man suspected of killing the 4 Lakewood Police Officers was killed this morning in a shootout with the police.

I went to bed after midnight thinking I skipped the "coughing hour". And I did! I slept til 4:30 with hardly a cough and no meds! Now I am awake though. Taking a nap soon! Actually going back to bed!

Yesterday I was working on how to lower my mom's TV cable/phone service bill. It is in a package with comcast and she pays over $100 monthly! Doesn't seem right so I called Ryan to see if she is paying for Internet services she doesn't use.... nope. We may have to find her another service. She pays way too much. I also finished the decorations and cleaned the den and living room and kitchen. I have laundry, dining room , toy room and living room to finish this week. I need to go to Walmart today for a few things and Thursday I take Mary to get her blood checked again.

Man, this is boring! I am putting myself to sleep! Sorry, all! I will end this now for your sake!

Weather To Expect:
A fairly nice looking start to December on Tuesday. Building high pressure brings some sun Tuesday, more of it north than south, but all in all a nice day. Expect areas of morning fog for the commute. Cooler air means highs will stay in the low to mid 40s, with NE wind around 10 mph.
More sun is in the forecast on Wednesday.
Another cold front moves through on Thursday bringing more clouds and a slight chance of showers by Friday.
Otherwise expect mostly cloudy skies and cool days through the weekend.
