Basketball, Berta, Breakfast and Birthdays

hello!   I guess if I write every month I will get to change my background page each time. lol!  All is fine.  I had a great and sad weekend last weekend.  Great because we got together as a family!  Haven't done that since Christmas!  We celebrated Andrew's birthday. He turned 20 years old.  My oldest grandchild.  Weird.  But we had a great time, great service and amazing food.  Nummmm.  We went to the Oak Table in Silverdale.  Around the table was Jared, Joshua, Papa, Don, Tara, Heather, Jordy, Patrick and Andrew on one side...Madi at the end...Karla, Joel, Dylan, Kevon, me, Lauren and Riley on the other side of the long table.  Here are some pictures:
Lauren is 13 in 4 days from this picture....this Wednesday.

They did some "switching faces.... didn't do much when it was Karla and Dylan because the basically have the same face! lol

Lauren and Andrew switching faces. So funny!

Last day being a teenager.
After everyone went their separate ways (Heather with me, Papa with Don, Andrew with Jordy and Lauren with Auntie Tara.), Heather and I stopped at Kevon's work and then we went to visit Berta.  She isn't doing too well.  I was there less than 2 weeks ago and she so sick then But now she is doing really bad... which is to be expected but I wasn't prepared for seeing her like this.  Broke my heart.  I don't know if I wrote this before but she has cancer.  She started out with bladder cancer, they took out 80% of the liver before they found out. Mary Moran and Jolene George were there when I got there....and Rick and Kathy (Berta's bro). Mary and Jolene left.  I sat with Berta by myself and just rubbed her arm and watched her breathe while she slept.  She slept most of the time but when I told her I loved her she whispered "I love you too."  Kathy came in and tried everything to get Berta to say it to her.  Too funny. Scott got home from Costco and Rick and Kathy left.  Scott and I went down memory road looking at pictures and remembering high school. We got a few laughs in and were distracted for a bit.  Christy (him and Berta's daughter) and Heather have been friends since they were little. They got time to visit.  It was a tough visit to see Berta though. Hospice has been coming in.  Please pray for Berta to be painfree and for Scott.

Lauren's been playing basketball.  Last Thursday was another amazing day.  Papa and I went grocery shopping and I got my haircut short. Then we went to Lauren's game in Silverdale.  I was worried about the game at the beginning....we were losing by over 10 points. Second half we started playing! Lauren made the tying basket that sent them into overtime. That was so exciting and she was so happy!

We watched for awhile but we had to leave to get to Riley's concert down the highway. The game went into a couple more overtimes and we won the game.  Lauren called after the game and was so excited!!!  We got to Riley's concert just in time. Thankfully Tara saved us a seat! It was such an amazing concert.  The music was really good. It was the whole school district honors choir from grade school through high school.  I loved it and it ended with the song "Hallelujah"....one of my favorites.  It was held at our old church which they remodeled and it is huge now. I took pictures but none turned out.  It is with my new phone. I wish I had some.

Well....that about wraps up our February.  I hope you all have a wonderful March!  God Bless!!!

Mother's Day, good food, and lots of games!

TODAY: It was a beautiful day.  A bit cloudy but still warm.  I hope you are having a good Monday.  I am sitting here smelling chicken and carrots baking in the oven.   Today I moved pictures on the walls around and it looks so much better. I am taking out pictures from my bedroom and putting them in the den next.

YESTERDAY:  It was Mother's Day!  It was a very quiet day. Lauren had spent the night and papa took her to church.  Kevon, Heather and Tara (and the girls) and Andrew called.  I got a text from Amanda. I received sweet messages on facebook from Ryan, Brad, Tara and Heather and other family and friends.  I also received beautiful cards from Karla, Tara and Heather. Papa made me a beautiful T-Bone for dinner that was so tender and tasty! Life is so good. And God is great!  Collages I made for the family....

SATURDAY:  Saturday was actually my Mother's Day!  Lauren has spent the night. It had been so long since she's been here.  She had a temp and not feeling very well.  She fell asleep on the couch by 8:15.  Crazy tired.  Poor baby.
So Kevon came and picked me up and we went to Chimicum Cafe. It is a popular mom and pop cafe that is so good.  We both had Chicken Fried Steak, eggs, hashbrowns and toast.

this is his facebook profile picture....weird, huh?

We had such a nice time visiting and being together.  He is a good guy that really has his act together.  I am so proud to be his mom.

In the afternoon me, papa and Lauren went to Karla's for bbq dinner. She made a good potato salad, fruit was so refreshing, Madi made chocolate covered strawberries that were delishes!!!!  Joel made two kinds of burgers....elk or beef.  Lauren, Papa, Joel, and I think Dylan had elk...the rest of us had beef burgers.  Good food!!!!  We played a few games of Chicken Foot with dominoes.  It was fun! We had quite a few laughs. I lost every game.  I want to take down Dylan.  He wasn't even paying that much attention because he was on his cell phone and would win!  I was so focused and lost. I am a bit competitive. Madi and Lauren had fun.  Took some pics but Lauren didn't want to have any taken so there are none of her.

My girl is so pretty!!!!! I love her!!!!!

This was funny because right after I snapped it Karla turned her tongue towards Dylan and they almost touched. They broke apart and went YUK!!!!!   It was so, so funny!!!!  Bet they won't do that again.  Silly people.

So Papa, Joel and Lauren didn't get in any pics. Oh well.

After we left we stopped at Lauren's to get some more clothes. I got some pictures of Sandy girl. I love this dog!!!!

My friend, Theresa, had a birthday Saturday too!!! Happy birthday Theresa!!! xoxo

FRIDAY:  I was a sick girl. I did nothing all day. Don and Lois were gone before I got up at 6 a.m. They still hit a lot of traffic on their way home... but made good timing anyway. On Tuesday my doctor changed my antidepressants. I felt so tired and weird all day. Emotional and icky. I just need to give it time. I think I also was tired from the week.  It was games Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday! My health isn't that great. I felt bad I missed Jo's game Friday night.

THURSDAY:  Don and Lois came!  We had a great visit!  Libby stopped by and visited for a while. Both my sisters here. Loved it! Later we went to Alyssa's game...Kingston against North Kitsap. Aly's team won and the 10 run rule ended at the 5th inning. Aly did good!  Jessica came and David was there.  Took some pictures and they acknowledged the Seniors on the team.

happy girl!
After the game the 4 of us went to Subway.  It took us 30 minutes to get our food because the manager left at promptly 7 leaving a girl alone to take care of a line of people. I couldn't believe it. Brought the sandwiches home and ate dinner. Then stayed up and played Trivia crack together. Had a great time with them.

WEDNESDAY:  Lauren had a basketball game that was so fun! We won of course. We had a seat, which is always good.  Lauren got two baskets and we were so proud of her. She was pretty aggressive too. She had to be with that team!!!!
Lauren long ponytail, red shoes and green stripe on shorts

TUESDAY:  I had my phone appt with my doc. She thinks everything stems from my antidepressant and how it isn't working properly.  I hope she is right. Start a new one....double up in a week and then she will call me in a week from then.

TOMORROW and THE WEEK AHEAD:  Andrew starts his new job at Coffee Oasis. I am excited for him. Jordy has a game at Lion's Club in Bremerton.  Aly has a game on Wednesday and also Lauren has a basketball game. Thursday is none and Friday is Jordy's last game. Depending on how I feel will depend on what games I go to. Please pray for me!   Have a great week!!!!
