T'was the week before Christmas

Sorry it's been awhile.  Where everyone else is super busy we planned everything so it wouldn't be stressful.  How did we do it?  Kept it simple. Ordered the gifts in November and everything arrived Fed Ex already.  So all is wrapped, house is decorated, Christmas cookies, and all is ready for Christmas.  In fact, ours is next weekend, the 22nd!  I am excited for it! We are having Prime Rib thanks to Kevon and Amanda.  I'm so excited to see everyone. I am so sad Jordy and Tyler will be missing it. They are going to Leavenworth with Tyler's family. Hopefully next year we can all be together.  I just know the older the grandkids get the harder it will be.

Today is my oldest grandson, Andrew's, last day of college.  His graduation walk will be in May but he is finished now with his Bachelor in Pastoral Ministries!!!!  I am so proud of him. (He just called me!!!! I love talking to him! I love when he calls just to talk and tell me how he is doing!) I know today must be bittersweet for him.  He loved college life and I am sure he will miss it. All the traveling he's done, singing in Choralons, friends he's made, things he's learned, experiences he's had, and all the growing up. It seems like yesterday he was telling me after church camp the Lord was leading him into the ministry.  Andrew was faithful to God and listened and the Lord led him to where he is today!  We are proud of him and we are praying for him!

Congratulations, grandson!  Can't wait to see where God leads you next!

Yesterday was a rough day. I wasn't feeling well when I woke up and my stomach was so gurgly and I lost it a few times.  So was Papa's. We thought maybe we were getting a bug.  I went to the dollar store to top off our Christmas and that was a mistake.  Not only was I not feeling well, it was raining and nasty, the place was crowded and I got the last cart, and my back hurt so much I was practically in tears.  The good news was they had what I needed.  And I guess it was worth the pain because I am done. However, I am so sick of being more and more limited because of my back. It seems to be getting worse.  Oh well, how I was feeling pretty much ruined the rest of my day.  Our plans were to pick up Lauren from school, go get her clothes at her house, go to dinner in Silverdale, go to Riley's concert, and take Lauren to her music lesson.  Well, we got as far as getting Lauren and her clothes.  Neither Papa or I were feeling very good. I had a splitting headache and sick stomach.  We got Lauren some dinner to go and went home.  We were in bed by 8:30.  So far today I am rid of the headache but still gurgly.  I'm sad we missed seeing Riley and her concert

Madi called last night to see if I wanted to go have lunch with her after school.  That made me happy.  Hopefully I will feel well enough to go even if I don't eat.  I would like to see her and catch up with her.  It seems like forever since we caught up on our lives.  She's been so busy with drivers ed.  She only has one drive left and she'll be done.
Riley just picked up her license last week.  She is on the road.  Lauren is getting a lot of driving time with Papa.  Her drivers ed starts in January.

We had the most exciting news that I can share now! The Langager population is growing again!!!  Libby will be a grandma for the 2nd time but it is my nephew Emerson who will be a daddy!!!  It is so exciting! And the other one is my niece Jessica is having a baby boy... so David will be a grandpa for the first time.  Me, Lauren, Jessica, Alyssa David and his ex (the girls mom) Annette all went to breakfast last Saturday.  Annette told him he was going to be a grandpa.  He said "What?" about 3 or 4 times. He was shocked but so happy after it sunk in.  It is a shock when you find out your baby is having a baby.

We had some family birthdays this month!  So happy birthday to my first great nephew Ryan who turned 32 and is our famous baseball player!

The second one is Riley my great, great niece who turned 5 years old!

My sister, Lois, had a birthday on the 7th of this month!

The next day was her daughter, Denise's birthday!!!

I guess my month hasn't been that busy.  I still love my van.  Still learning new things about it like how I can dim my speedometer and lights at night so it isn't so bright. Getting buttons figured out with their meaning etc. But it is an awesome van.

Hope you have a wonderful week!  Next time I write I should have some Christmas pictures!!!!

Lots to post! Good news, sad news, family and laughs!

It is already December and what a blessing the month of November was to our family!  Still loving my new van.  I just wish I had places to go.  I don't want to waste gas just because I can.  And I am not good at long distance driving anymore (understatement).  I just love it though.

Saturday we got up our decorations and baked cookies and breakfast dishes for the next day and it didn't kill us. We spaced it out and had some fun!  Went real light this year on our decorations!   We bought a little table top tree this year to minimize things.  And I put my Santa village (the kids bought me over 20 years ago) underneath it.  I cannot find the lights or church yet. It's not the most perfect tree but Papa always wanted a Charlie Brown tree...this is the closest he will get to one.  I've added more lights since I took this picture, too.

Someone pretends he is a giant tiger overlooking the village.  haha!  His new sleeping place.

Papa got the van taken care of in Tacoma and managed the trip and back. Funny how things like that stress us now.  It didn't use to bother us. We drove all around to different states and cities and now we hate to go further than Kitsap Country!  I am glad it is done.  Our registration and license plates came in so we are totally official.

We had some very sad news.  Lanny's cousin, Dave Brazeau, who he grew up with, passed away last week.  It doesn't seem that long ago we lost his wife Marcey. They were always good to us.  We lived just up the hill from them so we visited each other a lot.  We even stayed in their camp trailer in their yard while waiting for our place to open up.  We enjoyed laughter, meals, lots of coffee time, and Lanny loved being with family.  They were the first to show up when I was in my car accident and took me home and made sure I was ok.  They were at our wedding. I feel bad we drifted apart. It should have never happened.  We love them both and their kids! We will miss the time we wasted without them and miss them! When you think of family or friends...keep in touch! Someday you won't be able to.

Thanksgiving came and went....

We had our own little Thanksgiving... just me and papa.  It was a bit lonely but so, so relaxing.  My eyes were way too big and I couldn't eat it all.  But we ate early enough that we had room for pumpkin pie for dessert.

Here are the rest of my November blessings!!!! Jared is the 21st!

My dad and mom are the 22nd!  Love and miss them so much!!!!

 Amanda is the23rd!

Dylan is the 24th!

The 25th is Tyler (our new grandson in law)!

Son in law Don is on the 26th which also happens to be his birthday!!!

I picked the next day for his son Joshua, our grandson!!!

Tara and Brad have a son they have taken on into their family, Melvin! I think he's here to stay and we thank God!!! :)

Amanda's husband, Aaron, has been such a blessing. He is day 29!

KitKat is the last day....day 30th.  Our other baby boy!

Well, that is it for my monthly blessings!
I took a me day last month!  I got my haircut and a pedicure all in the same day!  It felt great to pamper myself.  I kind of deserve it.  I love washing my hair short!  I need to get some stay in conditioner. Any suggestions?

Papa and I spent Saturday making Christmas cookies.  It was fun. Made 5 kinds and had to throw one batch away. We were so tired and sore when we were done. haha!  The next morning we had to get up and make 2 egg dishes and sausage roll ups.  Didn't really like any of it but some people did.  They ate it.  I am glad Amanda made fried potatoes, bacon, and scrambled eggs, Tara brought fruit and we also had yogurt and granola. Manda made a french toast casserole too! That was good. She is such a good cook! And a great hostess!

Then there were soooo many cookies.  We always have tons of cookies!

It was such a wonderful day! Great food, nummy cookies and lots of laughs!  The ornaments were fun and I got one that says Joy! Here were some pictures.  Hope to get more soon!
