Friday Review

Can you believe it is Friday finally????  I am glad. I don't know why I still love weekends. Every day is a week end when you and your husband are retired.  I used to love weekends because it seemed like we always had grandkids over.  Now they are growing and it doesn't happen as much which makes me very sad but it is part of life. I really cannot tell you the last time Andrew or Dylan spent the night. lol! Now it is Lauren and Madi not coming over as much. They have friends and a social life.  I still don't. They all left me behind.  Just kidding.  I do need to find one. Not sure why except when I die no one will attend my services!!!! That wouldn't be cool.

Today I thought I would do Friday review.  This review is going to be about tv shows I watched this week.
1.  Most of the shows I watch are cooking shows and it is really fun with all the Thanksgiving food being cooked. I am watching The Chew right now. I love this show. They have been showing Thanksgiving ideas and leftover ideas. Doesn't mean I am going to make it...but I love watching them enjoy the food.
2. I watched Parenthood. I stopped watching it for awhile because I didn't like the direction and I didn't like all the sex.  Yes, I said it. But the show is ending and there are only a few left.  I am kind of sad to see Zeke (the dad) having heart problems again. Is that going to be the end?
3. Biggest Loser. I really don't understand this week and I am talking about the weigh-in. The losses were stupid ridiculous!  One guy gained and another were at 0?  Did they all not try or was it in their head they only had to lose 40 pounds.  If anyone knows why they screwed up so bad I would love to know.
4. Last Man Standing. Papa loves this show.  Tim Allen character is so anti Obama it makes Lanny laugh.  Most shows are real liberal. It is so funny when his dad owns a pot store, too.
5. Speaking of pot....I also love Dancing With the Stars.  I loved Tommy Chong. So classy and kind. But he really couldn't dance.  He needed to go. Probably before Lea Thompson. She was really good. I love to watch Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton) dance.  I hope his back will make it through the rest of the competition. He is so good!  But my favorite to watch is Sadie Robertson.  She is cute as a button! And quite good!

Well, that is it. I hope I didn't put you to sleep...unless you need to sleep. lol!  It has been raining all day long. Which means it finally warmed up.  It had been freezing and sunny. I think the rain is going to keep going. I have no where to go and nothing to do anyway.

Well, I am going to have some lunch. Grilled cheese. Been putting up more decorations today. It really takes me forever.  But the longer I can enjoy them the better. :D

Have a great weekend!!!!

TBT: Some Thanksgiving pasts!

Today is a great day so far.  Papa has had a wonderful day.  Doing his favorite stuff. Except for hauling in Christmas boxes for me.  I have my snow people up. It is a bit difficult because I have to watch where I put my stuffed ones so Scruffy can't reach them. I had them all out today and he didn't touch them, but I don't know if he would be so good if we were gone. lol!  My back is hurting now. I may have done too much.

Everyone who has any inkling who I am KNOWS how much I love my pictures.  I really do!  I love to share them too!  I thought I would go back on Thanksgiving pasts today.  We've had amazing times.

Preparing for Thanksgiving!

I have so many great plans for cooking this Thanksgiving!  I really don't like cooking and I am not that good at it but I have been getting so many great ideas.  I don't want to change things up too much because Thanksgiving is a  traditional holiday which is all about the food.  And football and family. We aren't having our big family this year except Kevon.  But he deserves good food too!!!! lol!!!!
I will share some of my ideas.  Brining the turkey is first.  It sure makes the white meat moist and so worth it.  More seasonings on and in the turkey.

The mashed potatoes I am going to use Yukon Gold potatoes and add some butter, sour cream, and garlic.  Nummmm!

My gravy is going to be a secret and I will let you know if it is good.
I am adding bacon to my Green Bean Bake for numminess. Plus making my own sauce instead of canned cream soup. Everything is better with bacon.

  Oh...and sweet potatoes with marshmallows.

I am using cornbread, sausage, onion, celery, broth and seasonings in our stuffing.

I am making Ambrosia on a cloud of whipped topping.

Of course we'll have corn, biscuits, cranberries, olives, pies, too.  See why I am so excited???? I am sorry if you are hungry and reading this...lol!

Last night I had a nightmare!  I woke up moaning and crying.  It was bad.  Kevon and Ryan were kidnapped by two gunmen.  I was so freaked out. I knew the gunmen would kill them. Papa woke me up and held me. And the dog wanted to help me and crawled on top of me growling and trying to save me. He was going to kick some serious butt on whoever was hurting me.  Papa and I both pet him and calmed him down.  He is very protective of me.  I love my dog. He is really sensitive towards me too. If I am not feeling good he seems to know.

Life has been really good lately.  Talked to Kevon on the phone for a long time last night.  And Karla called this morning and we talked awhile.  Yesterday I chatted with Madi, Dylan, Riley, Andrew and briefly Lauren. It just warms my heart when they call when I talk to them. I love my family so much!

Today I need to ride my bike and start unpacking some Christmas. Papa is getting anxious. Thanksgiving is on the 27th...pretty late in the month it seems which shortens our time to enjoy our Christmas decorations.  I don't mind the lights up that long.  I love Christmas so much!

Hope you have an awesome Wednesday!!!!
